i just got a call from them and they left a recording of a scam going on in our area about false sales folks trying to upgrade services with touch screen monitors. they are just trying to gain entry into the home. so its not a sales call and a legit warning

Got a call from this number. I'm NOT a customer and never have been. While the recorded call may have been a "warning" I question any company that tells people to go to their website or call them out of the blue. I'd say the call is in and of itself a scam.

Monitronics is synonymous with crap.  I've been a forced customer for 5 years now.  They don't actually perform service...they beat you to death and grab your money.

Voicemail message appeared to be from monitronics (security alarm monitoring)

I have been serviced with Monitronics for 15 years. I did not have any issues. Any time I told them I want to cancel their service and got other company, they gave me a good deal even better the one I planed to buy.

Received the recorded voice message from Monitronics today. They have been my alarm monitoring company for nearly 4 yrs and I've not had any issues with them. This is a "scam alert" for their customers...but it's also a way for them to try to keep their existing customers. A year or so ago I received a postcard from them warning against door to door sales of alarm systems...which is quite ironic since the company from whom I subscribed and who Monitronics monitors was a door to door sales pitch. (I had already been researching alarm systems and knew what to look for in features, service, pricing, etc. The sales kid actually had to shift gears because he saw that I was more knowledgeable than most folks.)  Bottom line, they just are trying to keep their business and not lose it to someone else.

Got the call today. Yes it is from a security company.  Said I already have security, and ended the call.  Hopefully that will be the end of it.  We'll see.

We received this warning call from Monitronics Security Alarm Company and were happy to learn of this scam. We have been customers of Monitronics for over eight years and they have always been great. I don't know why anyone would would not like them.

This call type is an informative recorded message not "Telemarketer" but the correct option is not available.

This is Monitronics security alarm monitoring.  This was a recorded message about a "possible" scam in our area.  To find the truth, it instructs you to call Monitronics.  I hate that company.  Stay away from them.  They will hound you forever, and they lie.
