This number is a part of Careers Inc, which is a verification service
for employers for hundreds of different job boards. I'm a
representative of Careers and would like to clarify why you're getting
a text from us on this number.

We receive a large quantity of resumes for thousands of positions
across the country, and our job is to verify that your contact
information is correct. Employers use Careers because they get such a
massive response to job postings. It's very hard for any company to
sort through interested applicants - people are not reachable, their
phone numbers are disconnected, or their email is invalid or typo'd on
their resume. This leads to frustration on both ends, where applicants
receive no response and employers get bad contact info for an
otherwise qualified individual.

Careers attempts to contact applicants to confirm that their
information is correct - if it is not, then we help them to correct it
and update the employer on the applicant's status.

We do not ask for any sensitive information such as SSN. We do not
charge for our service. We will never ask you for anything beyond
confirming what's already in your resume on file.

I got a text from them and decided to call them back. I spoke to a man named Terry who identified himself from Carrers Inc and asked if I was still looking for employment. What he did was ask me for just some general info to make sure my "information" was correct. He didnt ask for anything about my SSN or family. Just stuff like name, adress, email, and home phone number. Than about my college information. If some guys pull up to my house in a van or all my stuff has been stolen in the next few weeks Ill let you know.

If you have any doubts about the number you can use a reverse call system (its like 4 dollars online) or if they get to be harassing you can call police or your service provider and ask them to get the information.

I also got a text, however, when googling Careers inc, the first one that pops up is a recruiting service based in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. There isn't a thing at all for any verification service. In this day and age, every company has a website, except for some really small family owned businesses that operate in the middle of nowhere.

I also don't believe that any verification service would text someone to verify information. Usually that would take place with a phone call and a succinct breakdown of who they are, why they are calling, and on behalf of whom. Plus, anybody who has the wrong email/telephone number on their resume probably doesn't deserve the job anyway, because that implies a lack of attention to important details. And who would want to hire a person like that?

Also, what would an employer need a verification service for? If they really wanted to verify information of applicants, they'd make one of their own people sit down and do the job, and not have to pay a third party to do the same thing for very likely more money. It doesn't make any sense.

In any case, if an employer wanted to call you and for some reason  your phone isn't working, then it has been verified that the phone number isn't correct right? The would, I assume, then try the email. If that doesn't work then the resume writer is really incompetent because they wrote not only their phone number, but also their email wrong. After that, if they still really wanted to hire you for some reason, there is always the option of good old snail mail. If the address on the resume is also somehow wrong, the I think it would be at this point that the employer gives up and gives the job to someone who knows where they live.

I received a text from 560-30. The message was that they wanted me to call about a medical imaging receptionist job that I had applied for @ 877-341-3363. I haven't applied for any jobs in over 4 months and do not remember this one. I decided to check online to see if this was another scam.

I would not recommend giving out information if they are unwilling to give the name of the employer that is requesting it.  I got a text message and I called.  They would not give me the employer requesting the information and said it was aabout a job I inquire about over six months ago.  I did not give any information since they were unwilling to give me any information.  I would say be cautions.  I don't believe this is the way a legitimate employer would do business

Got a text this morning too Lester. I haven't called yet because I wanted to check out the responses about the number first to see if its legit. MY TEXT SAID CALL ME ABOUT THE WAREHOUSE/DOCK POSITION I APPLIED FOR.

I guess the best way to know if they are legit is to ask the career network about the job they sent you before getting into anymore information. If they fumble around and can't anwser your questions about the job they sent you then something must be wrong..

Got one text message, too just a while. Icalled up, and a recording says it was the career network, then a live person answered and said they are from carrer network. Asked if I'm still looking for a job, there just me to verify the info that she have - suck as the name; address; primary phone number; email address; if of a legal age; and if a US citizen.
Then she asked about my educational background, and said that info will be send to employer.
I really do not know if this is real or not, or if they are just fishing out for info, I hope not and that they are legit.
