I got a lot of calls from them, must be scam

I've been getting these calls for over a month... only thing is i never actually get the calls...! just a voicemail... no missed calls even show up on my phone.  what is it that "will work against me"? do they even know who they are calling? when i tried to call it back once, a voice just kept repeating "press one for english. press one for english." over n over... very annoyed & wish they would stop calling......!!!!!!!

the number has not changed ownership, it still belongs to "Global Credit and Collection"

I have received calls from a private number 9054801342 several times asking me to call 8773423271.  The number shows it is from Markham and the name of the caller is Jack Sing.  It sounds like that.  How should this be stopped

I have also relieved a call from these BS company as in Rodgers / global television i have said to them if when the 24 to take me off the call list and you people do not comply with your do not call back list that is automated in there system for whom or any persons with call from this number you will deal with a class action lawyer for herasment call to me after the 24 hrs passes by if you call you and the person I talk too will be going to court and certain person that I have spoken to will and have no chance on having your position back due to you will not have a job .. And I also pay my bills and I am debt free wht is there moto to piss us off ..I have also told the prick who call again and you and the rest will loose your jobs cause I think I can say for most of us who are getting calls call lawyer and see wht u can do cause I did they told me call a class

They keep on calling my cell phone. no messages left if picked up they hung up. It seems to be global credit and collection. They need to stop calling as it really annoys me at work.

Keep calling me looking for a girl who owes money on student loans.
Asked them to remove my number from their caller list and that lasted 3 months.
Now they are calling me again looking for the same person who I do not know, for problems that are not mine.
These people are very rude.

Global Credit is a credit collection agency utilized by Rogers Communications Inc.

this is crap there not any better then someone trying to sell you something over the phone .and they know they cant harrase people its against the law .even a laywer told me to save the number and if they keep calling my phone that they can be charged

we r getting these varous calls 2 and 3 tmes a day, we are retired, owe no money and are extremely annoyed.  i have call display and just dont answer it.  with all the laws and do's and don'ts in the country how can the phone company and the gov't allow this, its terrible.

They been calling us for a week now, sounds like a collection agency but no name or reason left so I never called back, they indicated the call was very important and we need to call 1-877 337-3836 immediately. Whatever....

Hey...I called and they asked for a guy named Robert...I had my estate number ready for them too just in case for further action needed to addressed...The gentleman answered the phone was actually very polite and listened to me about my own concern that I only got the number in late spring and it is suppose to be unlisted...The company name is Global which I know it is a debt for Rogers Communications ... its their last and final way to scare ones that are in the process of going bankrupt...I dealt with this company in the past when I was going bankrupt...just forward the letter and information to your trustee and let them deal with them...all information that you can give is your trustees name and estate number that you are going through a personal or a personal and business bankruptcy.

Trying to get off their list... trying to see if they are BBB registered.  I don't have any information identifying the owner of the number as Global Credit except for the information on this site, which I don't know how to validate.

OK, I FOUND WHO THEY ARE AND A VALID SOLUTION.  

They are a legit colection agency(Global).  I got that info from Canadian Fraud Centre (18884958501) They refered me to either EQUIFAX (1800 465 7166) or to Trans Union (1800 663 9980) to first check if there were collections against me or possible identity theft.  Both Equifax and Trans Union are Credit checking agencies.  I used the last one (easier to use)  where, after several security questions, they confirmed there were no collections against me or any family member (each has to phone individually).  

With this confirmation I phoned the 1 877 342 3271 number. A young lady answered, I explained her the situation and that I had checked my credit and that there were no collections  She then asked if my number belonged to a certain person (Lalion something) as they had my number as reference under his or her name.  I indicated, in no uncertain terms, it was not and I had never heard of such person.  They apologized for the inconvenience and promised to take my phone out of their calling list.

I do not believe they are fraudulent, just perhaps careless in checking data on phones.  In any case it was very annoying but I hope is now over.

this number calls my cell every 3 days and it's a recorded voice mail that goes straight to my voice mail. pls advise how to block this number!!

I have received several calls from this number over the past two or three weeks. I have also received calls from another number, 905-4801342, and the experience with that number has been similar. The other number I am referring to is 877-342-3271. I have just been hanging up and not answering, but am not at all sure this will work in the long run. Like others posted here, I have no debts and pay all my bills early. I acquired a new cell number after moving here from a different province and at times have wondered if the previous person with this number had debts, but I really don't think that is the reason for why this is going on. Does anyone have a suggestion about what to do, other than to keep hanging up? If so, I would appreciate your posting it here.

Yesterday there was a message on my home phone stating the following (not word for word):

This is Shawn from Global "something". A file has recently come to my desk that I want to discuss with you before I proceed with the next action. Please call me back at 1-877-342-3271 ext 8576

To me it sounded like a collection agency, but I found it strange that they did not state the name of myself or my fiance. We both pay our bills on time and nothing is late, so there is no reason for any collection agency to be calling. This is definitely a scam. My fiance called them back and told him they called the wrong number. I say BS! They could have said who they were trying to reach in the voicemail.

To anyone receiving these calls...do not give them your information. If they are a true collection agency, they would have your information already.

I recently got my first call from 8773423271.  The call was unexpected and unwanted.
The recording of an aggressive caucasian woman with a slight american accent said:
"This is not a solicitation, bla, bla, bla.  Our records indicate that we have been
trying to reach you since bla, bla, bla.  Please call us back at 877 377 3836 (?)
immediately."  Then the call ended abruptly.  No identity or purpose was given.

It's a scam.

The company calls arbitrary people trying to retrieve money from them. If you reply their call they will be nasty on you and ask for money. (including threats that your dept you ow them becomes more and that things will turn bad for you if you do not pay) If you weight and call them back 10 minutes later they will apologise and tell they were looking for somebody else.

Don't pay. If possible block their number.
If not possible call back later and tell them not to call you again.

Good luck. (PS can anybody stop these guys, they must rip off a lot of poor people who get scared by their calls)

I alway thought this No. belonged to Global Credit & Collections, but today received a call from same No.(didn't answer it as before as I have saved the no.), but they left the message that: This is an important call from Bell Canada, Please do not hang up and an agent will be with you shortly". Has anyone else noticed an ownership change of the No., or is this another one of collection tricks??

for the past 4 days I've been receiving a phone call from this number,if I don't answer they leave an automated answer on my voice mail.Today,I decided to answer only to get an automated voice on the other end saying I have to call their toll free number and that I cannot and should not ignore their call and that they are not a telemarketing or soliciting phone number but they didn't identify themselves.I don't have any outstanding debts,I pay my bills ahead of  their due dates so I don't have any idea what they would want to talk to me for which makes me very suspicious of them.Their message is as vague as can be .There should be something that can be done about this as they are harrassing people.

phoned my house 7 times in 2 minutes.  I called them and asked them not to call.  they wanted my number but I refused.  Told them I was not the do not registry and they were obliged to run their numbers against those numbers.  I got hung up on.
