I received a text and called them back. It was a short phone call--they just wanted to ask a couple of questions. They didn't ask for personal info.

This number is a part of Careers Inc, which is a verification service
for employers for hundreds of different job boards. I'm a
representative of Careers and would like to clarify why you're getting
a text from us on this number.
We receive a large quantity of resumes for thousands of positions
across the country, and our job is to verify that your contact
information is correct. Employers use Careers because they get such a
massive response to job postings. It's very hard for any company to
sort through interested applicants - people are not reachable, their
phone numbers are disconnected, or their email is invalid or typo'd on
their resume. This leads to frustration on both ends, where applicants
receive no response and employers get bad contact info for an
otherwise qualified individual.
Careers attempts to contact applicants to confirm that their
information is correct - if it is not, then we help them to correct it
and update the employer on the applicant's status.
We do not ask for any sensitive information such as SSN. We do not
charge for our service. We will never ask you for anything beyond
confirming what's already in your resume on file.

I have to say I am not entertained that I got a text from a company I have never heard of on my cell phone! Is this the phone solicitation of the 21st century? Really?!?! If I want your services I will find you but more to the point a better way to reach me without making me angry would be to send an e-mail! That information is on my resume too!

Another hit is http://www.careersincorporated.com . But my text message was about a Teachers Aid position, and this web site lists a number of fields, but not education, Again no sign of the 877 number.
Other similar names come up, under investigation by the government for preying on jobseekers.

I just tried to look your "company" up by just doing a job search and didn't have any luck. And the one that it did bring up was a hiring comp for Puerto Rico and the Caribbean's. And your not listed on BBB either...HMM

I just got a text with the same thing. :: about a job i "applied for" messed up thing is i haven't applied for a job since at least Aug. being pregnant and already having a job puts a damper on that. So i don't know who these ppl are or how they got my information.Considering i don't use "job search engines" but i def' don't feel very secure about it. I'm gonna check em out on BBB...........

I just recieved a text , they had my full name spelled addressing me, told me to call the number regarding a position I "applied" for. Then it says in parentheses (txt STOP to cancel) and the from number is 560-30. If this is a job trying to contact me, texting is highly unprofessional and they didn't even include a name for me to call back and ask for a specific person...sure does sound like a scam.
