This number now belongs to a company called "Allied Interstate LLC". They are a "debt collector" who is widely held to be less than savory.
This is what is said about them on the Consumer Affairs website:
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/debt/allied_interstate.html
There is no help once this company has your number. Allied Interstate, LLC. has lost numerous lawsuits but still yet continue to violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

Got a call from a farily nice chap a few months ago talking about a service called Credit Alert. They mentioned I could gain access to my credit report and could also help prevent fraudulent use of my information. I hadnt checked my score in a while and waslooking to apply for a mortgage soon so I signed up. I think it is a great service I received my credit report in the mail a week or so after I signed up with lots of helpful tips about how I could improve my score from fair to good. I moved houses and changed my address a little while after that and just as the service promised I recieved a notification saying that there were changes made to my credit report and it showed me the address change. It made me think YES if it hadnt been me I would have caught a fraudster trying to scam me.

i called td bank and they told me td visa did endorse cerdit alert plus; td customer service told me it's not an identity fraud. on the one hand td told me they would never call on behalf of any company to sell us any products, but the truth is they did, 'cept it's not the "bank" that called it was their "TD VISA" department! i think the bank is contradicting itself, i'm very disappointed in the bank that they're pushing responsibilities

This is a number for a telemarketer company that specializes in insurance for banks and other things of that nature. The message if you call back explains who they are and gives you the option to take your number off their list. It apparently will take up to 72 hours and that is explained also.

Regular like clockwork, couple of times a day. Never answered calls from this unknown number. Added this number to a special group on my phone, phone never rings when numbers call from that group. It's my ignore list group
Randall 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
Same story as above but ice got a Vancouver number
Linda 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
They called tonight around 8:15. When I picked up, I got 'dead air' at first, then just as I hung up, I heard a female voice. Glad I didn't talk to them after all, knowing what this is all about.
Moi 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
I get a call on my cell from this number almost every other day! I don't answer 1 800 numbers because they are almost always telemarketers, but I didn't realize this wasn't even legit. Any way to block that number?
Jenn 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
Interesting.. I've been getting constant calls from this number as well, some days 2-3 times a day. I called the number (1-800-668-0077) as suggested on this forum and am going to be removed. Thanks for the help, the calls were getting awfully annoying!
MAtt 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown

md 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
This number has called me twice a day for the last 3 weeks. Very frustrating as it comes in on my business cell and usually comes in on the other line while I am on the phone with a client. The first week and half all the calls came in during working hours. Now they are coming in the evenings. Last night I got a call at 9pm from them!!!! (greater Vancouver time)

Please all people call back the number and follow the prompts. I just had my number put on the do not call list. It will take about 72 hours for it to stop but just follow the prompts when you call. Its easy to do and saves alot of stress in the long run.. And btw, Merry Xmas to all of you

Receiving calls on a daily basis from this phone number. Grrrrrrr
Jess 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
I started freaking out after I got a call from this number and called the actual visa information center and the lady I spoke to on the phone confirmed that they were apart of a credit watch program. I was ready to phone, phone busters and look into them being an identity theft program. I also talked to a guy with just my bank and he had never heard of them before but the credit protection with my bank and it apparently is legit. Just letting everyone know my discovery.

This number was calling me multiple times a day for a week and a half. I finally answered tonight.
They had my phone number via Royal Bank (VISA). They were trying to sell me identity protection services, first month free to try, $8.99 thereafter. Hopefully they won't call back because I answered this time. If they do, I'll recomment.
Nedejda 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
They are calling me at WORK. Despite asking them numerous times before not to call me at that number, they still call. They are calling me on behalf of my bank. I am furious at this point!
Frank 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
This numbers calls me every day, sometimes twice. They must really want to sell me something. I answered it once and the guy said he was calling on behalf of Royal Bank and i said it was a bad time and they just keep calling.
Me 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
I just called back the number - the message says it's a recruiting company and to leave a message. WTF?
Dr 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
Hello,
I called RBC Visa directly to check out this phone number. They have no idea who contacted me through this number! I am under the impression it is FRAUD! Do not trust any services offered to you in this way. You can always call RBC Visa through their 1 800 number, always check your statement for the correct number!!!
I hope this helps!

Hey Deborah and unknown - go suck an egg!
Defending companies that do UNSOLICITED spam phone calls and use auto dialers is beyond reprehensible (look it up morons!) And counselling people to answer the call is beyond immoral.
NEVER pick it up, never call back to have the number removed. Never confirm a name, birthday, or cc card # over the phone. No legitimate bank would ever ask for that. They have your information already.
THEY WILL NEVER REMOVE YOUR NUMBER!
All you are doing is confirming that yours is an active # and dupe people into thinking action is being taken. It isn't.
I've been receiving calls from these cretins for years and nothing stops them from calling.
NOTHING..
Janice 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
From a call centre on behalf of the Royal Bank. They were selling a package to protect you from information theft. They don't give you a chance to say anything and the problem is if you just hang up they will call again and again. As far as the "do-not-call" list.. as long as you have a bank account, the bank has permission to call you and offer you services that you may or may not care about. As long as you keep ignoring the calls, they will keep calling you... unlisted number or not. That's just the way it works. Answer the call and just say "no" and hope that's the end of it.... for a while.

This number is so annoying. I thought I was late on a bill or something - but I paid up all my bills and I still get these calls every couple days.
Betty 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
I called 1-888-532-6035
The instructions say to press 1 if you want to be on their "Do Not Call List"
Then you type in your ten digit phone number, including area code
After that, a recording says it could take up to 72 hours for your number to be removed
If they call me after 72 hours, I'm gonna rip somebody a new one!
Deborah 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
I would just like to add that we all need to work or we allow the tax payers to fund us to sit on our behind at home...this is a job for some people who need to pay there bills and provide a home for their children just like anyone in sales its a tough job ...but if you give them a chance to explain and just decide if its for you or not then its over...we all have to make a living some have to sell on the phone...show a little bit of care to this group of people....and BTW I have listened to the call its not all that bad, and it is only offering you to try the service for FREE for one month...if you do not like it call and cancel if with a FREE call back!! If the person on the phone is rude ASK for a supervisor do not allow them to be rude to you....and like I said my call was not a problem the lady was very polite and understanding. Also some of you selfemployed people need these people to shop in your stores and BUY your products...so have some care for them!!!
kATIE rAY 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
PLS DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER AGAIN...
Deanna 2011-06-06 21:04:19 Unknown
Call the number back, they will put you on a do not call list by pressing 1. They are a marketing company. Super annoying!!
