I keep receiving calls from a female stating she is looking for me to serve me with papers to take me to court and prosecute me.  She is also calling my ex-husband's new in-laws and my family stating the same.  The response I got from her was very aggressive and did the same 'Good Luck' with me.  My brother-in-law who is a cop spoke with them too and they would not back down or give any information, just told him that he would be prosecuted too if he did not tell her where I was.  I was a victim of identity theft as well several months back and this is the result of that.  I have faxed documentation to them twice now showing this is not my debt and a CND but they still continue to contact me with threats.  My bank handled this situation for me when it originally started, and I was not refunded any money they took.  The 'loan' they insist I have was for $300 and is now showing a balance of over $1500.  The gentleman that I have spoken to twice at 'Legal Services' will only threaten me after talking with his 'attorneys' cause they said I owe the debt and must pay it.  He just ended the conversation with me saying the normal 'good luck'.  These people have got to be stopped from harassing us!!

This same lady called me also today and i told her I talked to the District attorney of  my county and for her to do whatever she had to do with her court summon and she said good luck and hung up. the number they gave me to call back was 877-614-4934 when my friend the DA called they wouldnt tell him where the company was located and they hung up on him and if they had a court summons trust me we would know before they would because you would have already been served .

I've been getting calls from a Mike Lawson.  I indeed had a payday loan via internet and they even had the bank name that I used to bank with. Told me that I defaulted the loan in 2008 and the company Timberhold had been trying to collect.  I gave them my card info to see if they would bite, well he called again and rude left a msg saying this card has no funding and good luck in court I'm not dealing with this!!!
After reading this, my thoughts have been confirme, its a scam!!!

You people have been calling various phone numbers.  You are con artists and quite illegally in what you are doing.  Keep calling the next call I will make is to the Office of the District Attorney of Nassau County Criminal Complaint Unit 272 Old Country Rd Mineola 516-571-3505.  Knock it off before you get yourself locked up

Same as above....coming to serve me, better call them before she gets to me first, blah blah.  Then she says this is my last warning.  OK, fine....come serve me.  Then she calls again today?  I guess TODAY was my last warning lol.  However, it is illegal to tell you they are coming to arrest you, tell them what I did....I would be waiting on my front porch with lemonade, what time should I expect you?  They hung up on me...also let them know you are filing a police report and with the AG office....this will get you normally a few months of no calls, but have no fear...they will be back...usually with a new number and a new person threatening you.  By law, if you request proof of debt, they must give to you.  Dont get rattled people, just know what YOUR rights are.

My son recevied a threating call too from these people. I myself is in collections but we dont use scare tactics to resolve the debt. If you are threatened you can report to the Federal Trades Comission and the Attorney Generals Office for your state. They are violating the Fair Debt Collections Pratices Act if they threaten you. You can not be arrested for a debt. You can be sued and that is where they say a process server is trying to locate you but if they say charges are being filed then that is a threat that can not be acted on and therefore a violation of the Act. They are only allowed to contact your references that you have put on your orginal credit application one time and that is usually to try to locate you - if they call more then once then they are violating the act. If you tell them not to call at your work place or any other # either in writing or orally and they continue to contact those #'s then they are violating the Act. I hope this helps - document all the vioalation and I would even keep/save any threatening voice mails - you may or may not be contacted by the FTC or AGO if they receive enought complaints about this collection agency - that is down fall and they do not have to tell you they are investigating them. You can make a complaint on-line for both agency and submit any documents on-line as well.

yea these people calling from 877-343-6421 are full of crap they just try to scare you dont let them trick you.

Same message on voice mail from Donna Burke today. It was not even for me, it was for my mother. I'm not sure how she got my number when trying to reach my mother. We don't even live in the same state.My mother said she has no clue what the woman is talking about. After reading this forum, I'm not even calling the number to try to figure out what this is in reference to. Sounds like a scam.

Im getting the same calls but from Katie Brooks. These people are calling my parents who are over 80 and cant take the stress.  They have the nerve to leave a rude message on my work phone. The funny thing is I have no idea of what they are talking about. I will be reporting them also!!!

Same as above. Voicemail on home phone with case number and phone number to contact.

These people have called my cell phone, my sisters phone, even my grandmother about this. Talking a bunch of nonsense about verifying an address for service of process. I've never heard anything more interesting in my life, lol. So I call, why not? Come to find they're trying to collect on a some internet loan I took out a couple years back. I've only taken out one, so I knew what they were talkin about. But they keep throwin this b***s*** about "stay out of court" "private locator looking for you" so I'm like "let's see this locator" in my head and deny giving them card information. I even verified an address, it wasn't mine but for some reason they had a friend of mines' address so I said send em there. I go chill out over there and just as I thought no one comes. Instead, next day I get another vm saying they have a verified address and crap.

Whatever dude, I woulda paid too. Maybe they'll catch me on a good day, just leave my gma out of it eh? haha

These people called my work phone 3 times and called my HR manager. Have no idea what they want or what this is for and they did not leave company name or what debt this is regarding. All debt collectors are required to state what company is calling and that this is an attempt to collect a debt. I don't believe they are allowed to say there is a complaint against said person and they have 1 opportunity to call and resolve...and at end of call say ".......you have been notified". Real simple here send so called letter via USPS to person to verify debt and you will get your money; not by calling and harassing consumers.

Called me today said his name was Mark Abdul call came thru from a fax machine #.   A  message was left on my answering machine to call this #8773436421 with a case #.   I wonder why he has the wrong last name and a place of employment.   I am retired.   Be careful out there.   I am.

same as above other complaints, called my office from a blocked number, and left this voicemail message about wanting to confirm my address for SOP.  
Any company that cannot leave a 1) name of the company or 2) name of person to call back - they dont' need to hear from me.

I too am in the same boat.  I had my purse stolen a few years back and was never found. Have had problems every since.  They called my brother and told him they had a warrant out for my arrest!  I am going to report them now.  I also plan on talking to an attorney about them pretending to be law enforcement.

I got a message on my answering machine at 4pm (EST) today for my sister from the number 877-343-6421. The representative said her name was Courtney Proxley.

For one thing, my sister has never lived with me. For another, she sounded very threatening.  Something about charges, and a claim...and that the caller needed verification of my sister's address and place of employment for processing.  Also added at the end of the call, "You have one opportunity. You have been contacted!".  What in the world?

Can anyone give me information?  I left a message for my sister to call me to get the information, but it sounds like a scam to me.

Mr. Thomas Price and Mr. John Fisher called from a Private # saying that they have an order to present me with a court summons and I can prevent this by calling the "Legal Services" dept at 877-343-6421. Gave me a case # and wished me "good luck"

Called the # and spoke to a couple different people who were rude and would not let me get a word in. Trying to say that I had a payday loan... etc etc.  They refused to provide me with any proof of this (I am the victim of identity theft a couple years ago) and then man in background was being all loud saying "get her address and I will send the sherriff there"

They told me that they dont have to provide any proof or information on this debt because they are the Legal Services Dept... representative then hung up on me     Im reporting them to the BBB and Attorney General now.     They sound VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and refused to provide validation of debt.
