be careful cause they re text that they have a job oppurtunities for you now... i guess there linked to internet sites that offer job appliciations... so make sure you always go directly to the job website to make sure its legit

Just got a text message from Carlos@jena. Message says "Sterling Bank Alert. Please call 888-283-6011 for further assistance. Thank you."

Called the number, but it's been disconnected. Haven't had a Sterling Bank account in years.

Just receieved picture message from carlos@jenark.net. No account with Sterling Bank. I am going to ignore it. Says to call 888-283-6011.

Got a text from 1010100005 saying sterling alert unusual activity call now at 18002837197. Called but asked for 3 important information. First one was account number, but I don't have a Sterling account and did not put anything..just ended the call.

Hopefully they don't charge by minutes or including seconds.

I received this text @ 6:21:37 PM Central. I certainly did not call them.

Received text to call Sterling Bank unusual activity. Called and got recording just pressed 0000000000 and then disconnected. I hope it wasn't one of those numbers that charge you by the second.

Same SMS message from 1010100004 only the phone number is 866-279-4390.

This has to be a scam.

Received a "Sterling Alert" with a number of 888-707-9666...stay away googled it and they are Cyber Thieves!!

Also got this message. For the third time this week! I'll see if reporting it to AT&T helps at all.

I recieved the exact same text but with a different call back number.  The call back number on my text was 1-800-257-6163.  I did no and will not be calling back.

got a text message on my cell phone - sterling alert. unusual activity.  call now 1-888-543-4029

email listed as sterling@snmail7.tmomail.net

called the # from another phone.  got a recording requesting me to input my credit card or debit card information and 2 additional pieces of info.  Since I have no account at a Sterling anything this cannot be legit.

7-22-2009:  Text message (VerizonWireless) to visit servsterling.com.  Site already removed.  Husband had same message on his ATT&T cellular Monday.

This call just gives me goosebumps but I did it anyways. I gave it all ramdom information. I called 1 (877) 352-4925 and just followed all the instructions using random numbers. First it wanted my credit card number. I tried using 1234567890123456 then pound but it obviously is not a valid number and it just kept rejecting until i used 4323 as the first numbers which are always a visa number and used random numbers for the rest then it asked for the expiration date and it wanted it in this format 012006 so I gave it 072006 and it took it then it wanted my pin and i gave it 1234

I JUST CALLED IT, AND THE FTC [THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION] JUST CANCELLED THAT LINE, BEACAUSE THEY ARE PHISHING, SCAMMING, RIPPING OFF.

I received a text on my AT&T phone for the 877-352-4925 at 11:12pm on 7/21.  I called when it came through thinking it be important. I hung up right after it said press 1 to continue and there was a short period of silence.  This is ridiculous.

I ended up here because I googled this sterling alert thing......I just got a text on my at&t phone that read...FRM:sterling@pacwave.comMSG:Sterling Alert. Unusual activity - Call now at 1-(800)238-7197.
I called and it prompted me to enter my 16 digit debit or credit card number............huh, highly unlikely? The recording then said I would be asked to enter more info. also......HA....What the heck is this.....weird !

Same thing here.  Reported this to AT&T.  Hopefully they will investigate
