Hi I'm from New York and recently I received a phone call on my cell phone from this number. The voicemail said they were calling from Discover card about the recent correspondence they sent to me. The message said "This is not a solicitation". I do have a Discover card but I pay for it and there's nothing wrong with my account. I don't receive any correspondence in the mail from Discover because my account is all electronic. I'll keep my eyes open though for some correspondence.

That's not true!! They can garnish your disability check. It happened to a person I know. He owed child support. All that needs to be said.....

Just tell them that you no longer wish to be contacted by phone and they are to immediately remove your number from their list and anyone who is trying to contact whoever needs to do it by mail. That makes the calls stop.

They are a debt collection company.  They somehow got a hold of my cell phone owned by my company.  They call 2-3 times per day.  I will never answer their phone calls.  They don't send anything in the mail so there is no address that I know of to send them a cease and desist letter.  Seems like they are set up to force you to call them to get them to stop, which of course will never happen.  If anyone finds a way to stop them, please share.  I wonder if they set up websites like this to montior what people are saying about them.

I got a call from this firm this morning and answered the auto-call.  After a few moments, I got a live contact asking for my name and all kinds of personal financial information --soc sec number, date of birth, bank names, names and phone numbers of immediate family adult members, my cell phone number, wife's cell, places of employment for both, etc.

I asked what it was about and the person said his company needed that information before he could talk about why they were calling.  "Security" checks to assure I was who I said I was and it was required by the law.

I thought it sounded fishy.  I told him I wouldn't continue unless he explained why he was calling.  He refused but countered with a series of questions to "check his records" --he said.  Was I still employed with _______?  "No, never even worked there --I've had the same employer since 1983.  Did I still bank at ______? "No, never used that bank and I know the bank was taken-over and merged by at least 4 other banks in the last 15 yrs".  Did I ever have a VISA acct with a Oregon credit union with a balance of $14,980?  "No" was my answer -we've always used AmEx" and I've never lived in Oregon... nor know anyone who has lived there.  Ever.

So it was a collection call.  Then he started to list a series of names including older sisters, neighbors, classmates from college that I think he got off my FaceBook page and threatened to call them and ask them about me, this debt and my where-abouts if I didn't send him at least $2,000 by the end of the week.

I explained it wasn't my debt & he had the wrong person.  He asked me to explain then why he had all this information about me if it wasn't my debt.

I hung up.  He called back 4 additional times within 5 minutes and the last call he left a very angry, demanding voicemail saying I had until this Friday to send in the money to _____________ or else an attorney would be on my doorstep Monday morning to take my car, seize my house, rummage through the house for anything of value but first clear out my bank accounts.

What an idiot.  Even when they are wrong, they want your money.

I would strongly encourage anyone thinking of answering a similar call to not engage them, don't do it.  It's not worth the trouble of trying to get them on the right page.  I-G-N-O-R-E.

This is a scam. A computerized call is sent to my home phone six days a week asking to return a call to Kelvin Coleman for debt collection. This has been going on for several months. No one at this number has, or has ever had, a bad debt. We have had this number for more than 26 years. This is a scam. Why can't we get laws passed to stop this kind of abuse?

I have been getting a computerized call saying to the effect, this is Kelvan Colman call me.  It gave me no idea of why this person was calling.  After several calls then a message was left to call Kelvan Coleman at NCO Financial Systems.  They do not identify to whom they wish to speak to at my phone number and I don't want to return a phone call that might be a scam.

This number is from NCO Financial.  They are debt collectors.  I'll never
pick up their phone calls because the less you talk to these people the
better.  Always remember that lawyers and judges can't garnish dissability
checks or unemployment checks. It's a matter of federal laws.
