Calling asking for someone else

This company called my mother in another state and claimed that they helped me "get my job" - my poor mother believed them and took their contact information, I have advised her not to do so and if they call again to get the information for me to give to my attorney.  Phone number: 877-354-4889 x 14193

phone rang, I answered it as we always do at my store and whomever it was hung up on me. No Idea as to who it was but the name on the caller ID showed as 800 service

This is a debt collector, Central Financial Control out of Anaheim, CA, that allegedly breaks Fair Debt Collection laws often. Lawyer up if they refuse to provide you with information about themselves or if they call before 8 am or after 9 pm.

I want this call to never call me again. I believe it is a scam

I got a call from this number, The guy sounded serious but left no information except for a number to call. I don't have any outstanding debt that I am aware of. Is this a scam number?

The # called and left a VM saying if I was _____ to call back and if I was not ____ to call back and let them know. I called to find out who they were and they first said EOCPA then transferred me to another who called the place EOSCPA when I tried to ask who that was they said EOSCCA. They had a maiden name from several years ago and immediately wanted my SSN to tell me what they were calling for. I told her she needed to verify who she was not me. She asked if I still lived at ____address____ and I said no I think she has me mixed up with someone else and please don't call again. She got an attitude and said this was an educational matter and she could not discuss the debt unless I verified my identity and I told her she could go ahead and remove my number from her list; she repeated the question like I'm stupid and I hung up on her. I guess we will see if they call back! By the way, I am on the federal do not call list. So I guess that doesn't matter to them...

call for someone not living here. and wouldn't go into any reason.  I asked if it was a collection?  She gave me a curt "Didn't say that".

I do not need to have your company for my credit card.  Yes, I only have one!  And that one is kept low.  So, quit calling me.  You are wasting your time.  And messing with my answering machine, which you will get until I hang up on you.  GO AWAY!!

They refused to give me any information when I called back.  I specifically asked if they were a collection agency and they said "no" they were calling my son regarding his education.

This call is coming from a Massachusetts based debt collection agency - they will call numbers associated with your previous addresses and relatives you may have lived with or used as an emergency contact. I have received as many as 4 calls a day from them and relatives have been receiving calls as well.

This is a collection agency.  They are trying to collect money for a hospital bill.  My little boy had to go to the ER and we didn't have insurance.  I was told the final bill would be approx $1300.  I paid $300 right then and said I could pay the balance in about 4 more weekly payments.  2 weeks later they called and wanted to set up payment plans according to their terms and I couldn't commit to what they wanted. So told them I could do $50 a week and they said no. So started sending them $20.00 a week. They turned me over to collections before I was even 60 days behind. And they accepted my $20 payments. Now this collection agency calls non stop.  Is it legal for them to do this when it is for medical services?

Dude with thick New England accent called wishing to speak with me, but only if I first verified my birthday.
I mentioned that I don't give out information to strangers.  Dude then said he was "Fred" from EOCCA or something like that.  I asked Dude what does EOCCA stand for and he responded, "It doesn't stand for anything."  I suggested then that perhaps he didn't stand for anything either.  Dude then hung up.

This number calls me 2 or 3 times a month asking for Henry Johnson. I am not Henry Johnson. I called to get them to stop and the person I spoke to named "Robert" with a thick accent. He started swearing at me and threatening me with bodily harm.

Keep getting Robocalls to my home phone from this number, each time asking me if such and such lives here, if not, please call... I used to make that call thinking I was gonna get the calls to stop, but now I think they turn around and charge my phone. Now I just hang up.

ro-bo call saying a persons name & saying that I was acknowledging to be that person & it was a debt collector :(  I hope they don't stalk me now because I don't even know who that was. Their number looked similar to my mail order pharmacy (through my health insurance) so that is the only reason I answered it in the first place

Got a recording asking for a name, then said if I didn't hang up I was agreeing that I was that person. Could not hang up in time before it went to "you agree that you are ________" (whatever the heck the name was)  :(  I totally expect I'll get follow ups to this. arrgh!

So this call is like.. A fake? I just received it for my sister, so it could be a debt collecting call but I'm not sure. The person on the line gave me no information,

A call asking me for my SIN #.  Seriously that is a MAJOR privacy breach.  No one should EVER answer this.
