I checked the BBB.  This company CP has no interest in communicating with the BBB as they have not returned messages.  They also have multiple phone numbers, multiple P.O. Boxes, and a few varations of their name listed on the BBB entry.  Plus the piece of mail I got has CP, but it is CPPl in the BBB.  It's a telemarketing scam as the back of the cruise ticket in fine print reads, "Attendance at ninety-minute sales presentation for travel club is required." I didn't get a call.  I got a piece of mail with this phone number in it.

They sent me a "Birthday' gift notice. A complimentary 8 day/7 night cruise for 2, outside cabin from any major port in r=the US. Plus bonus airfare if I call within 48hrs. They are using the Carnival logo, but never say they are Carnival Cruise line. BEWARE!

I received the same cruise voucher.  I did some googling to see what I could find... and using the information from the voucher doesn't make it easy to find info about them.  Some folks have already posted notes on this forum about the company, but I wanted to post a detailed description for others doing the same kind of searching I did.

1)  http://tinyurl.com/bbb-data-on-promo-co   This is a link to the BBB's page about this company.  One of the posts here seemed to indicate a C- rating.  When I look at the page, it shows an F.  Most of this is the result of issues that people have reported involving sales or advertising.

2) The voucher and accompanying note say "Carnival Norwegian" in large letters, leading the recipient to assume that Carnival is the sender.  The return address says "CP" with a PO Box in FL.  The back of the voucher has a lot of small print, and identifies the "promotional sponsor" as "World Wide Luxury Cruises".  The abbreviation in the return address is correct, (and not easy to search on).  The company name is "Classic Promotions".  I used their phone number and city to get the most useful information.  I find it a strong indicator of danger when a company doesn't want their own name to be well known.

3)  The duration of the cruise in the larger print in the note is listed as an "8 day/7 night cruise for 2 with an outside cabin from any major port in the US".  The small print on the back of the mock voucher is different. It says it will be "aboard Carnival Cruise Lines for four days," with an outside cabin.  Annoyingly, but common I know, the note says complimentary, but the voucher says the recipient pays all port charges, taxes, customs fees, etc..  It also says that the customer will be responsible for $9 per person per day if NYMEX, decides to charge over $70 per barrel of oil -- hardly predictable for the "prize" winner.  On the up-side, if the cruise is only 4 days long, you could save %50 percent on fuel supplement fees!

4)  The note says to call in to claim the prize, and says you were verified and ticketing number was issued.  Again, small print on the back is different.  It indicates that you must attend a 90 minute sales presentation.  It also implies that you are /not/ verified to receive the prize unless you meet requirements for AGE, INCOME, and COHABITATION.  This isn't odd, but it is offensive, IMO, especially since they implied that you have already qualified.

5)  If you call within 48 hours (of what?), you are supposed to receive 2 roundtrip airfares to, or from, any major US airport.  The note has no date on it, not even a cancellation mark from the post office.  The only date was on the voucher,  which indicated it was already 3 days old.  Mention of the airfare promo does not appear in the small print or anywhere else on the voucher.

The pattern is pretty clear, and the BBB thinks so too.  I'm avoiding this company.

GREAT RESEARCH --- but "SCAM" and  TOTAL TIME WASTER!  don't bother with these unethical dishonest people -- there are too many good ones out there --- don't waist your time trying to figure out if they are not honest in there advertising -- but, will be honest once they get your money........
