Let me add my voice to the chorus on this.
Multiple vector attack calls. When the receptionist piped what she perceived as a sales call to my voicemail (correctly) since the caller said he was WITH HP / AMD, they called right back and picked up someone else on the phone extension tree.
Again said it was James Murray (877-358-0405 ext 66226) and that someone else was supposed to be emailing all his info to me.
a) smells phishy
b) nobody who purchases / manages technology should volunteer anything about their IT environment...and they know that
c) this method should be so ineffective for sales as to not be cost-effective...so either HP is making poor marketing choices or there are enough idiots who actually answer these calls as to keep them in business
d) I understand telemarketing is a business; I also understand my time is more valuable than this. When and if I decide to purchase HP products again, I know where they are thanks.
e) people on this thread really got their knickers in a twist

Just because they pay you $9 per hour doesn't mean you are legit. If we had HP products and needed upgrades, we would call you............you are an Idiot
you have 15 yr old info 2013-08-20 19:35:55 Unknown
Idiot

You must have entered that information while downloading something off the HP website, registering a device or software which you purchased from HP, or attended and event hosted by HP. They can also get those numbers from your own company if when called you company doesnt have a office number to reach you at and you have a cell phone as your only point of contact. Operators and associates will disclose this information since it is the only way to reach you and they cannot transfer the call. durr

I just got a call from this number on my personal cell phone. The caller ID was blocked, and the woman said her name was "Pam". She claimed to be "with Hewlett Packard", and asked questions regarding my personal address, place of employment and our MS Exchange environment. I told her the call was very strange and that I was not answering any of her questions, and for her call back number, which she gave as 877-358-0405 x-4865. I worked for HP for 8 years, from 1999 - 2007 and if they are resorting to phishing calls and calling them "marketing" then they have really sank to an all-time low. So where are they getting personal cell phone numbers, personal addresses, and places of employment anyway???

Think what you want but the Truth is this company is legit. They will call you and assist in any needs you may have where HP could be considered for the solution. They will send you emails with white papers, or invitations to HP events. They will pass your sales leads to the appropriate contacts at HP or your preferred HP vendor/VAR, so you won't get a generic sales person, but the Storage rep if your need is storage, or the Servers rep if servers is what you need, or the services rep if services support is what you need. They are contracted and paid by HP to do what they do, and work side by side with HP's inside sales team.

The next time you receive a call from someone on behalf of HP, remember this link. It is an article directly linking HP and Telenet Marketing Solutions LLC.

1. "Calling on behalf of HP"
2. They had no information about our environment and systems we may have
3. Telemarketer stated that they do not have any information about our environment, only that we are a customer of HP
4. Provided number of 877-358-0405 and an extension for direct inbound call back
5. Would not clearly identify the name of the calling company if they were calling on behalf of HP
6. The telemarketing company does not provide CallerID in their outbound dialing campaigns

Rob, you should do the world a favor and DIAF. Thanks.

Yes, I WAS working for HP through a marketing campaign HIRED by HP. They were trying to sell you upgraded servers at a great price. It's NOT scamming. It is Marketing. I WAS just doing my job. $9.00 an hour through a temp agency. Nothing personal. Quit slandering my name!!! Thank you.

Called our office asking the admin lots of questions about our ITS environment. She specifically asked them if it was a sales call and they said "no".

Just got the call... Number comes in Number withheld. The caller claims to be HP, not representing HP. There is no reason I would give anyone, any personal information based on this information. I don't care who is calling.
Henry 2011-12-09 00:58:40 Unknown
Well, funny that HP (your company) pays this TeleNet company to market your products and get YOU business. Pretty sure people wouldn't be wasting their time making calls if they weren't getting paid by HP to do so and market their products. Maybe people should be smarter and not put their personal information in if they don't want marketing calls.
Rob 2011-10-12 19:11:51 Unknown
And, of course, as a legitimate company, you would be honoring people's requests that you not call them, correct. And also, you would completely understand that anyone with a brain will not give out ANY information to someone they don't know.
Rob 2011-10-12 19:10:36 Unknown
You are a pesky telemarketer. Stupid girl (Alisha...right, don't you mean Peggy?) who is trying to pester people into buying something they don't need or want. Telemarketer alert...if someone wants something, they usually don't wait until some loser calls on the phone to offer it.
Rob 2011-10-12 19:09:08 Unknown
Actually, it is called scamming.
Rob 2011-10-12 19:08:11 Unknown
Oh for heaven's sake, how stupid do you think people are? SCAM ALERT.
HP Employee 2011-10-12 19:07:01 Unknown
This is NOT an HP number. It is not in our system, and the names of the callers which I received are not in our directory.
kaileena 2011-08-10 17:50:23 Unknown
Working on behalf of another company is one thing. Claiming to be that company if fraudulent, as in illegal. At the very least, misrepresenting.

said they were with Hewlitt-Packard...when I called the number back the annouced it that way also. When I asked if this was Telenet MArketing, they said yes. I told them to put me in touch with someone to remove me from being called again. She started asking all kinds of information that did not seem really neccessary. Pissed her off so she hung up on me when I told her that I neither knew nor cared who originally called me....ha ha.

This number contacted my company, and I found out about some Brian Walker who was contacting us about our clients' servers. Call into the number and the person answers "Hewlett Packard, how may I direct your call?" Sorry, but if you claim to be a legitimate company, at least answer as "TeleNet Marketing" like you call yourself on your website.
This company is a scam, and they don't need to know anything about any of our clients' servers.
Zahid Khan 2011-06-06 21:04:20 Unknown
I received a call from this number. The name of the person was Danial Tamarus.
He said that he was calling on behalf of Hewlett-Packard (HP) regarding storage solution..etc
Pete 2011-06-06 21:04:20 Unknown
Called and didn't leave a message.
Lead Generator 2011-04-07 15:29:44 Unknown
TeleNet Marketing Solutions works on behalf of Hewlett-Packard, as well as other technology companies, for a great deal of reasons. Our focus here is on generating sales leads and uncovering environmental information that can assist with future contact attempts. If you have a need or an upcoming project, we're here to get you in touch with the right person who can help you with that. The reason we ask you so many questions about your environment is that, as a marketing firm, part of our job is to do market research. In the event of a lead opportunity, this information is passed along to a sales representative so that they can offer solutions that will fit in with your environment. In addition to lead generation, we also call for audience acquisition (inviting contacts to attend free seminars/webinars/conferences), lead nurturing, and lead incubation. So before you jump to conclusions, just give us a chance! We're only trying to help you.

Just got the same message on my Cell..
from Jennifer Scully? I think could get the last name (877)358-0405
This is weird cause I don't own any HP products and the company I work for doesn't either...
The straingest part is how did they get my cell number I just got this number a few months ago....
So this is a scam in my eyes... Not Legit at all...
Peter 2011-01-05 20:12:14 Unknown
They are a legit company, just doing their jobs. Wish they didn't call me on my cell #... When they had difficulty pronouncing my foreign last name, the jig was up. I just said, "He's not here now, can I take a message?" It works every time!
Alisha 2010-11-15 14:14:16 Unknown
Before ya'all put down what we do please visit our website www.telenetmarketing.com We are hired by HP to do what we do and are a legit company.

I too got a call from "Donna Chappy" at this number. After I referenced this URL, she said she was from Telenet Marketing.

Some dude calling "on behalf of HP" asking me all about our servers. I asked him if it was a sales call - said no. I asked if it was as survey - said no. I'm sorry, but a list of questions is, in fact, a survey.
Don't bother with them - just say you're not interested.

Just an observation: you are unkind, rude, and probably pretty unhappy.
