Called Cell many times for credit card info. I dont have a credit card.

I'm on the 'no call list'

this is not right

I called back and learned that it is from a group called Degree Counseling. I was applying for scholarships on the internet, so this is probbaly how they got my number. I have just had one call yesterday from them and two calls today.

I got a call from them and after asking some personal info like my email and some school stuff he said to hang on a minute and then just hung up. i called back and got an automated message about degree counseling so i just hung up

This website is great!  I too have been getting so many calls from this 877 number mid-morning when I'm working and answering my phone- Grrrrrr!  It is from a vocational training outfit or something - like one of the posters above I think I filled out something for grant or tuition assistance if I went back to school to learn a new vocation.  

Anyway these tips on how to manage unsolicited calls are great.  

Thw worst is when they text me, as I do not have texting on my basic phone plan, so I get charged!  Will read on to see what to do about that!

Just like the rest of you, I've been getting same experience from this number
-calls numerous times, but I don't answer
-finally when I answer nobody answers back
-I hang up immediately and number calls right back
-then hangs up.
WTH!!!???

The same thing happened to  my sister

caller does not identify themselves and does not leave a message.

They have caled me as well...I just called them back and got a recording telling me how to remove my name from their list.  They said it will take 24 hours to do....hope it works.

its for "degree counseling"  I filled out something for single mothers grant assistance and now...its non stop...blasted internet!

This number keeps calling my cell phone and I don't appreciate that it is using up my minutes.  I do not answer numbers I don't know, espeically toll free numbers.  Finally after the 5th or 6th call, I answered but there was nobody there.  Since answering, I get about a call every few hours around the clock.

I have not filled out anything on line or otherwise and have had the same cell phone number for over seven years.  Nothing has changed.  My cell phone number is also on the do not call list.  I just don't get it!

Be careful not to call back because it could be an out of the country exchange and cost you big bucks.  The number looks typically American toll free, but be cautious.

Gotta better way to stop it. Answer the phone and say, "Homicide, Sgt. James and use whatever your state police is". That will stop them cold!  Example, say, "Homicide, Sgt. James, NY State Police". Makes them think twice!

I've been getting this number too, early  morning middle of the day, i answer and all i hear is breathing and  nobody speaks.

6/15/11 - Call from 877-363-9666.  Received a call from this number twice today and I do not pick up calls from numbers I do not recognize.  They did not leave a message.  I called back and received a recorded message that said I believe "Degree Counseling"  Said they are a service linking up students with accredited colleges.  Just a few days ago I had filled out something online looking for a nursing program and did fill out a form with my phone # but never completed submitting the information so somehow they have it set up to save that page whether you submit or not and now are calling me regarding college searches.

This number keeps calling me. Sometimes multiple times in a day.
The person also tried to convince me that I filled out a survey for online degree and was quite agressive. I told them my number was private and not to call me and without skipping a beat he started back at me about why I needed to talk to them.
I called them back and they picked up but wouldn't talk or respond... so I'm not sure who called.  They kept calling after that but if I pick up they wouldn't say anything. weird.

I get 10 calls a day from this number!

I didn't fill anything out for Subway, but I did fill out a form for a free sample of Snuggle. Within 3 days I had this and 2 numbers originating in San Martaan calling me night and day, plus texts!  I don't exagerate, 17 calls in one day! I get texts at 4:30 in the morning! I put my number on the National Do Not Call register, which takes 30 days to take effect. Fortunately, these companies either are giving up or complying early because this is the only number of the 3 that still calls and texts me.  Usually they are offering some ridiculous gift card for $500 to WalMart.  SCAM!!!

Recieved a call every 2hrs for 3 days straight. I'm not near my phone much and when I am near my phone I screen for numbers I don't know. So, I haven't answered any of the calls. They seem to be decreasing in amount of calls.

They have called me twice this morning. I called back twice, and heard it pick up and hang up. They called back again within a minute. I asked who the heck it was. She said it was Vanessa from *garblgarblegarble...* I asked her to repeat that last part, and she began talking some Spanish or Arabic---or that's what it sounded like. She had a funny accent towards being a latina. But anyway, I told her she had the wrong number and to quit bothering me. So far, I've had no more calls. :)

I called the number back after a number of missed calls and received an automated message that allowed me to block my number.

This number has been calling me like crazy, if you have a smart phone just forward the number to your voice mail. I have an andorid btw.

Just contacted verizon online via chat and found out they can block this number FOC on the fly.  Someone from this number has called me three times since 0800 already.  So apparently you don't need a smartphone to block the telemarketers, just an FYI.

This number is calling my 15 yr old 2-3 times a day, he tells him not to call him back and I've even told them. I spoke with my carrier and they can block the number. Also, I was told to add your mobile number to the Do Not Call list with your State.

They are calling my daughter.  She doesn't need them and they have called at least 20 times in the past week

I have received numerous calls from this number- I've picked up once or twice not remembering. Each time I pick up the phone there is static on the line followed swiftly by someone hanging up the call.
