Calls from 877 are constant - according to my Called I.D. record, ones I have just recently received:
877-696-8597-06/08-09:32PM
877-674-4280-06/07-06:09PM
877-849-4372-06/06-08:27PM
877-835-8046-06/04-04:10PM
I do not answer, I let my Voice Mail answer and pick up, which instructs them to "Leave a Message" (my VM only responds with my Telephone Number and no other Personal information) - they never leave a "message".

This is a scam of course. No bank will send you a text saying your account has a restriction on it. Filed a police report and did a trace on my own. The phising isnt even in the United States. The server there bouncing off is in india. Of course this is just the bounce server so they cant be traced as easily. What they usally do is use your phone service provider to send these sms out.
Just file a police report of the phising scam and get the number blocked. Most Phone companys will do that free of charge.

Received an SMS from this number. Called the number, 'Credit Union Card Services'. Message tells the caller that their records show a restriction has been placed on your card. Then, "please enter your card number". Hang up.

Text msg received on cell phone "restrictions at Idaho Bank Account" = says please call back immediately. DO NOT CALL OR RESPOND. Hopefully this will cause them to lose interest in their scamming ways! Just hate it that the senior citizens are so trusting and will be scammed by these low-lifes. Their day will come!

This is actually a text message that comes through on my cell phone. It states that my account with "Idaho First Bank" has been restricted and that I need to call immediately. When I get the text, it resets my phone as if I had turned it off and back on again.

Got a call from this number regarding mY account being restricted. Tried to call it back and it was busy numerous times. I want this s..t stopped. Why doesn't the government get rid of these scam calls. This should be an FBI first on their list along with all the other scam calls out there. I NEVER HEARD OF IDAHO FIRST BANK AND I DO NOT HAVE ANY ACCOUNTS THERE. THIS WEB SITE SHOULD BE MONITORED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND FOLLOWED UP ON THESE CALLS WE ARE GETTING ESPECIALLY THE TEXT MESSAGES. WE ARE TAX PAYERS AND WE HAVE TO PUT UP WITH THIS S..T...I DON'T THINK SO........

Idaho First Bank is a real bank, but the text is a scam. If you try to text them back, it won't work, and at this point, the number has already been disconnected.
If you receive messages like this, it's best to call the institution in question at the phone number listed on their site to inform them of this kind of thing, and it's also good to call your cell carrier to inform them that someone is posing as a subscriber on their network.
Never give out your credit card number to someone who sends you a text message. Real financial institutions will never inform you of this kind of thing by text, and that's how you know it's a fraud. ~_^

Got a text today from "3611" that says: 818@tmomail.net / / Notice : C.U Account restricted Call at (877) 574-3057 to solve the problem
I didn't even know what C.U meant until I looked here and figure it stands for credit union. Whatever, I don't even have an account at a credit union. I googled the 877 number and couldn't find anything, so if anyone else gets a similar text I hope this helps. BTW, I didn't call the number.

We were one of the banks' names used in the scam. The text messages were not sent from our bank. I talked to the FBI about this and they indicated there are several different ways the phishers can get cell phone numbers. One way is to buy a device that they then enter in a range of numbers and then text messages are sent to all of those cell phone numbers.
The other way is they can buy cell phone numbers now that the numbers are public. If you are not on the National Do Not Call Registry, you can register online at WWW.DONOTCALL.GOV or call toll-free, 1-888-382-1222 (TTY 1-866-290-4236), from the number you wish to register. Registration is free. For more information go to http://www.ftc.gov/donotcall

Today I received a text from this number. However it is a scam. The message I got said it was from a local bank here in Idaho. So I called them!!!!!
This is what I found out... The FBI is investigating this matter. There is a computer/person/group that is randomizing numbers and spamming them trying to find people to give out their personal information...
I plead that you do not give them any information besides the fact that they are a scam and they will get caught.
I was told by this bank to add my number to the do not call list which can be found at www.donotcall.gov
Cell phone numbers, as of a month ago, are not public record. And adding your cell number to the do not call list will help to keep your cell number safe and keep your sanity from getting annoying calls from people who want to sell you things.
Hope this helped!!!!

| Montana 2009-03-02 01:48:00 Unknown |
they are probably just trying random numbers. i used www.sprinttip.com to call the number and sure enough they dont even say who they are, all they ask for is your credit card number, expiration date and pin number. i wonder if there is a way to report this to the police. some one surely knows how to find out who they are.

I also received a similar text from the same number. "Mountain West Bank, N.A. Call 1-877-364-3811 to find out why your debit/ATM card 472025000001XXXX was blocked. Thank You." I don't bank with Mountain West Bank, nor do I have any card with that number. Also, my cell phone carrier is Alltel, so this is not just a Tmobile issue.
