This jerk identified himself as Josh Thomas and Associates Acquisitions.  Love the internet.  Googled his name and came up with this site.  He asked to speak to my husband to find out if he knew of the whereabouts of my nephew.  Gave me a case number and all.  Yup, made it sound official and all.  All I have to say is,"What goes around comes around, Buddy!"  What a jerk!

I received a call from Josh Cook from Thomas Thomas Wickerman & Associates and my son received a call as well. I seem to think that this is a scam that is going on and I am going to have an investigator research this company and find out what is going on. Got a call from Attorney Cameron Lott today for a cousin who doesn't live with me and my husband has NEVER met her. The message wanted my husband to call them back ASAP! Glad I looked this up and saw all of this on here. I am reporting this company... our names and # should be unlisted, amazing how they can find out our information.

They called my mom and dad, talking about how they were Attorneys and that they didn't want me to be "blindsided" with this info. Their so called "client" was wanting to get 1,800 from me, from an original debt of 600. When i asked them where all the interest came from they couldn't give me clear answer. I then proceeded to ask them, IF THEY ARE DEBT COLLECTORS...HE PLAIN OUT SAID NO! THEIR TRYING TO KEEP OUT OF LEGAL TROUBLE! I passed the phone on to my fiancé (who handles all the bs) and they were contradicting their selves...story kept changing etc. etc. etc. ITS ALL BS! WATCH DATELINE-DEBT TRAP- THIS WAS A VERY INFORMATIVE VIEW OF THE LEACHES AT WORK! They pose as attorneys and claim you will be in big trouble! just to collect the debt they bought for pennies on the $..so to them anything they get from us is better then nothing.! SORRY TTW ASSOCIATES! YOUR NOT DEALING WITH A DUMMIE! I KNOW MY LAWS N RIGHT! IF YOU EVER! I REPEAT EVER! GET A CALL FROM THEM DONT BELIEVE A WORD THEY SAY! EXCUSE ME!!!!!   So where do they get the right to call me at my federal government place of employment, ask me questions about my ex husband, tell me it is a life serious matter with his other wife???? Who in the heck gave them my number in the first place. I divorced him for I reason. I got an amazing thretening call from a d..k named Josh Cook from Thomas, Thomas....giving me a few hours to inform me of a legal matter I may not be aware of. After using his fake professional voice...I kept asking him if he was an attorney.Just stonewalled me...found out he was representing collections for bank of marin???Made it clear to never call me back. I will file a complaint on representing themselves as attorneys giving me a few hrs. to save myself from impendin action in a doomsday voice. Karma you jerks is real

Got message today from a number in Utah--they said.  The return # that he gave me for my daughter was this 877 number.  I asked him if he was calling from NY and he said, "NO, I don't have any idea what you are talking about."  He was polite, but I told him I could not get in contact with my daughter right then, as she was in class.  He said, "I just don't want her to get blindsided with this.  I have a handful of people I can call and maybe they can get her to call back.  I'm just trying to help her with this."  
Well, this is bull!  What do we do with these calls?  They even called her ex-mother in law!

I recieved a message on my home phone today from Josh Cook from Thomas Thomas Wickerman & A**.  It was 2 messages sounding like it was urgent that he speak to my daughter about something she had wittnessed and was not aware of . I contacted my daughter and she googled the number and found this was a scam. This is the second time they have called me.

I received a voice mail today from Cameron Lot who was looking for my sister. He stated he was with the company Thomas, Thomas, Wickterman & Associates. The message lasted almost 3 minutes and he made it seem urgent that my sister contact him regarding something that "she is completely unaware of as of late yesterday afternoon", and stated a file number for her to reference when she called. When my sister called him back from her workplace he tried to intimidate her in to talking 10-15 minutes so he could explain. She hung up on him.

Who ever this is Gil Porto.. Called my ex-husband!! We have been divorced for 15 years!!! This guy thought we were related. I was like WTF!! They also called my very sick mom!! This is rude and inconsiderate!! they did the same thing to me as they did to 'Not Happy'. How can they legally do this!! I don't have any debts out there, if they were real debt collectors, they would have my right information... Its not like I am hiding!! idiots!!

They contacted a family member that just got a new phone number. Thanks for your comments it was very insightful in learning what kind of mess this guys are trying to drag out! Just follow some of these guidelines that pertain to you in your resident state and you will feel a whole tons better!

Deception in debt collection is forbidden by the FDCPA. Shilling is deception. This collector is abusive and should be treated like a SCAMMER.

Legit collectors per section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf *must* tell you at initial contact, or send you paperwork within 5 days of initial contact, the following:
1. $amount of debt,
2. name of the current creditor (which may differ from the original creditor who might have sold your debt),
3. a statement that that debt will be assumed to be valid unless you dispute in writing within 30 days,
4. a statement that that if you do dispute in writing within 30 days, the collector must mail you written verification of the debt,
5. a statement that if you ask the collector in writing within 30 days, the collector must send you the name and address of the original creditor if it's different from the current creditor.
If you don't get the 5 disclosures, orally or in writing (you do not have to ask for it, the FDCPA requires it), treat the collector like you would any SCAMMER. Scammers are using bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.

These people called my house asking if i was related to someone, called my sister and my brother in law across the country as well. The message "Jimmy hansen" left scared my 11 year-old nephew. This is ridiculous, and i am appalled that they are allowed to harass people this way. They scared my family and act like there is a life and death situation. DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont think its right to call my family and scare them but what is all this fraud talk  dont you people know its against the law to give out any of your personal information thats why the message is so vague and they dont leave any info besides a name and a number trust me i know my landlord is the one who got me the message and wasnt to happy about it but as much money as i saved i could care less!!!  i could be wrong but it seems like alot of people are mad about someone confronting them about money they owe.    ( just a thought.)

These so call legit bill collectors called my boyfriend's parent's home looking for me, saying that is very urgent they contacted me, putting all my business out to his parents, and by the way, they are elderly, one of them suffers with dementia, they do not need to be harassed by phone calls that has nothing to do with them.  This is going over and beyond for bill collectors.

Got a call from same # , a guy called Jimmy Henson, couldnt hardly understand , but said same that its imperative I call imediately.  Its unreal what people can get info about otheres.  Some privacy laws we have.   If anyone is starting a class action lawsuit, I will def. take part in frying these ______________.

They are terrible and are liars, they are telling people they are lawyers and they arent just a collections agency, its bs and i am so sick of it
