We got a call from this number for weeks straight at the same time everyday. Finally I called back and asked who it was and it is a company called ZipWeb. I asked them to stop calling and they added our number to a do not call list. I also told them to stop being so rude as they always are when you try to ask them questions when they call.

I didn't answer. When I looked up the number I.D. later on my phone I accidently hit send but I quickly hung up.

this number keeps calling and insisting on talking with the business manager. I have explained to them time and time again that we are a homeless shelter and to please take us off their calling list. They are very rude and refuse.

We run a business and these people keep calling us to confirm information "we posted" on a website. Then attempt to sell us something. We have told them time and time again to stop calling- but they don't. I've never met a rude person, just ones who don't understand what I mean when I say "Stop Calling". Is there anything else we can do to make them stop calling?

I understand English but I dont speak well. Sorry!
Chris Horner 2011-06-06 21:04:21 Unknown
As is usually the case with these sleazy type operations - someone from this company is usually reading these posts. PEOPLE, these folks will trick you into authorizing services for some obscure web posting you'll never be able to find!!! Then, the mysterious charges start showing up on your phone bill.
Here's a clue for ya buddy....don't call my business and insult me by claiming I am not who I say I am. My business changed a year ago - and for you to argue with me over the name of my business...is the fastest way to guarantee you WILL NOT GET my business.
Here's another one. I live in America - we speak ENGLISH here. If you can't get a rep from your business to talk to me in a language I can understand - quit wasting your time.

They also use different numbers to call from so you won't get too wise. Everyone who calls has an accent...hum.

You most likely will start seeing a charge on your phone bill for around $39.99 or so each month. Its called "cramming" and companies are doing it like crazy.
Just make sure that whatever you do, do not say "YES" during the phone call. They will edit the recording to make it sound like you agree to this little scam.

This # keeps calling...I finally spoke with someone & he kept asking me to make decisions & I explained the owner is the one who is authorized to make business decision not me even if I'm the office manager... he keeps insisting till he said he would call back tomorrow for the owner.
I then called back the # & a lady by the name of Ashley said she would take our # off the list & it will take 72 hrs

They keep calling here, no caller id so I don't pick up. I would recommend everyone file a complaint with the FCC. It only takes a minute and would keep these idiots from calling.

When I have the time, I simply call back time after time after time and don't say a word. When they call here and I hear a person's voice, I press and hold one of the numbers on the phone so they have a high pitched noise in their ear. Not as good as the airhorn idea, but we don't have one :)
Tom 2010-07-26 17:01:07 Telemarketer
They will continue to call even if your number is "taken off" their do not call list.

She said her name was Samantha, and that she was calling from the Big City Yellow Pages. She requested to speak to the manager, so I came here and read every comment... (while she was on hold :D... I wasted her time a lil bit). When I told her that no one was available to take her call, she said she would call back.

The company I work for receives multiple calls from the 877-366-2829, stating it is zipweb.com wanting to update and verify company information. I tell the woman each time to take us off her call list. After a lot of frustration, I contacted the phone company and asked what I could do about this since one, I don't want anything to do with their services, and two, I don't want any charges on my phone bill as some of you have stated has happened. My phone company told me that they automatically block third party charges, so that is good. But if I wanted to have them stop calling, the only option available is to contact the police and file a report for harassment since there is no way to block the telephone number they keep calling from. I highly recommend that any business or individual who receives the calls from this telemarketer, to contact your phone company and verify how they handle third party charges to prevent any issues.

These people are still calling!! They've called SIX times today alone. I let it ring twice before answering. I say "Hello" there's silence then they hang up. There has got to be someone to call to charge them with harassment!

These people DO NOT STOP calling. They call here 8 to 10 times a day. First, I told them this was a private phone number. (These people are foreigners and have no real idea if this is a business or not). That would work for a while - say eight or nine days.
Soon, it was back to business for them and they would continuously call here. So our new policy was to immediately put them on hold without saying anything and although that was fine for getting rid of them, it still ties up OUR line if even for a minute or two and we would hate to loose a real sales call in just that minute due to our bottling-up these fools.
So, our next tactic actually worked for quite some time. I hated to do it, but these guys were really becoming pests. I authorized the use of an air horn! The policy was, to put them on hold, then go into an unused office and pick-up the line there. There was a small air horn on the table and you were cleared to blast away! Some of the employees gave a 5 second warning. Others did not.
We called verizon and had their number blocked but they have changed numbers over the years.
The other thing I had done YEARS ago was to have a "cramming block" placed on all our phone numbers and verizon accounts. Cramming is apparently a procedure where a company adds unauthorized charges to your phone number and tries to have them billed through your carrier. From what verizon told me, is that they (verizon) won't necessarily stop the unauthorized charge but they will neither recognize it as a legitimate charge nor try to pursue it if you don't pay it. As I said, I have had a cramming block for years and there have been no unauthorized charges on my numbers to date.
They seem to have found us again however, so we will block this number and dust of the o'l air horn!

Keeps calling HOW do we stop this madness??
Joan 2010-07-14 15:56:16 Unknown
*67 does not work when calling toll free numbers so every time you have called them they know exactly who you are...
BobbieJean 2010-07-14 15:52:09 Unknown
I play them at their own game... I make it a point to pick up the phone....hit *67 first to block my number from appearing on thier caller ID and I call them and just hang up on them... I did it three times already today... if the mood hits me.. I'll keep doing it. LOL

Also a business owner, this number called three times after business hours last night and once so far today. I was away from the phone, so I did not answer. They do not leave a message.

It's a Yellow Page scam

These people are getting better. Yesterday it was for local yellow pages. Today it was Bing, Goggle and other search engines. I'll believe them when pigs fly.
