Received a call at 8:33 am, eastern.  No message.  Called back.  Recorded voice asks for an extension, or hit 9 for a directory and then  "press 0 or hold for an attendant."  (Attendant?)  All entries were "invalid."  I have reported calls like this to the FTC, and was told there was nothing they or I could do to make them stop.  (I've been receiving collection calls for someone I don't know for years.)   If anyone has had a satisfying result from contacting the FTC, would you share the reporting method you used (telephone, web, email, posted letter) and I will try again.

PBA scam of some kind. not interested, don't know why you're exempt from DO NOT CALL list. what part of DO NOT CALL don't they understand that they think i want to be bothered while i'm working for thier scam phone calls? FAIL!

Someone called me from this number at 0830. Asked, "Is Michael there?" I don't know this clown.  Why would he call me by my first name?  Identified himself as the "New Jersey Lodge of the PBA."

I just recieved the same call fromt his number. They left a message asking for Michael and leaving his "account number" along with her number and ext.

The first time ZI ecieved a call from this number was on 8-6-2010.The secomd time was on 8-9-2010 at 4:17pm.They asked if Jessie(My late dad) was home.I informed them that he was deceased.I got an apology.

Call came into my ans. mach. at 9:53 AM. They hung up ASAP. Very annoying because I was waiting for an important call. I screen most of my calls before a certain time.

Just got this call on Friday Aug 13 at 9:25. They asked for Kim and when I asked who, I could tell it was an automated voice. So I said "You have the wrong number" and it replied... Ok, Thank you very much. Sorry For the inconvenience...

Call came in 10:42 AM.  Male calling to collect for police widows, orphans, memorials for cops killed in line of duty.  Very, very persistent.  If I couldn't make a donation, then how much would I pledge and send in at later date.  They would send form to fill out.  Told him I had to make funeral arrangements and kept pushing for a pledge.  I said bye and hung up.  Someone call a week ago, hung up when the got ans. mach.

Luckily for them I was not home at 8:48am when this call come through.  I called the number back, got an automated thing.  Stating the faternal order of police.  It offered a prompt to have my number deleted, so I did so.  Then I was able to leave a message at the end.  I stated,  please remove me from your calling list, you are wasting my time and yours.  I do not have money to donate and if I did, it would not be to the FOP.  Then I went on to say.  God Bless and your family.  God Bless, give Jesus a chance.  Now, if they dare call again.  My next message will be more than offensive.  It said it will take 72 hours to remove my number.   I am confident that this just another scam.

No message was left. From what I read here, this is the PBA  scam that I used to get years ago. Last time I picked up, I asked them to mail me information--never heard from them, until this last call...

It is a telemarketer ?fund-raising?????the N.J. State F.O.P. is not really involved but after the company takes their cut of the scratch, they give what?s left to the cops in their company?s name. I blocked the #

Received a phone call from this number at 8am on 8-10.  Asked man who was soliciting funding for the Fraternal Order of Police (???) to check the time.  Quite disturbing to think that you are receiving a call from the police department at 8 am.  He informed our household that were were  in no trouble (???)  He advised that he would call back at a more convenient time.  Received same man calling today (8-12) identifying himself representing the Fraternal Order of Police and when I interrupted his speel, I had to actually shout and yell to get him to stop talking.  Advised him that I did not appreciate the call at 8am the other day, that I would not be or ever be giving money and to take me off his dialer and then I hung up on him!   Next step is to contact the police department!

I didn't answer and they hung up on my machine. So annoying!

Got the usual initial silence on the line. I don't know why I stayed on the line but I did, and said hello. This giddy kid came on the line and started repeating "hello?" in a smirking voice. I hung up and searched the Internet for the number. It must have been a new one, because it didn't show up. I called the number back, and the recorded voice said it was the customer service number of the New Jersey Fraternal Order of Police. I looked them up online, called them, and they said they didn't know anything about this. The person who answered sounded really annoyed, like I was interrupting her crossword puzzle. So much for that.

Called me yesterday. It sounded like he was switching between handset and speaker phone when asked if I could contribute. I asked if I was being recorded several times before I was told that he was calling me using his computer (I guess something like Skype) and was required to record me. I then just ended the call. Beware.
