Donations for the police.  Nice on phone.

They called me and asked for a donation.  I started asking questions about their organization and he was very hesitant and noncommittal.  I told him I wouldn't donate a penny to any organization without first researching it.  He asked if he could send me info and I said fine.  What I got was a "bill" stating that I had pledged $25 and they still hadn't received it!  VERY DECEITFUL ORGANIZATION!

I got another call from some "Fraternal Order of Police"
where someone has a computerized voice (like Hawking's only smoother)
where they play mostly stock phrases,
sometimes responding appropriately, sometimes quite off the wall.
Some of the responses are not reasonable responses to what I had said.
When I ask "are you a computer?" I get the reply
"I am a human but I use a computer voice for quality".
I heard that phrase once before when some solicitor called.

My hunch: this is an off-shore call center, or else a pretty good automaton.

They asked for the lady of the house.
They claimed someone had made a pledge.
I don't think so.

I got the call too, never left messages. I finally picked up. I did donate. I recalled donating to some police thing last year as well. Not sure if this was same. Polite person. After reading this other posts am rethinking donating again that way. I guess I didn't ask enough questions.

Said he was Brian and asked to speak to my husband.  I asked if I could take message.  Now that I have read the other responses, I think it was automated. His answers were not the normal response for the questions I asked.  For example, he repeated the line giving his name.  Also, I asked for the phone number and he gave it to me, but when I asked for clarification of the last 2 digits, he repeated the entire number, including the long distance "1".  He said that my husband had agreed to donate, and I was 99.9% sure that wasn't true.  He repeated that same line a couple of times.  Odd that we all talked to "Brian"!?!
I agree with others.  It's listed as a new charitable organization in the state of WA, it has no financial track record and it's probably not getting much, if any, money to families of police officers.

This is an automated voice phone call. One of the best I've ever heard.  Everytime you ask the name of the organization, the automated response is:  Hi, my name is Brian and I'm with the fraternal order of the police.  You can have fun and trick the automation by having a conversation with him, then half way, ask him the name of his organization again.
If you get this phone call, ask questions and be prepared to be AMAZED at automated phone technology.  WOW!   Oh, by the way, it's probably a scam.  Don't donate.

Just got the same call. Wants to speak to the lady of the house. Insisted I spell my name. Very polite guy, but horribly persistent. I told him I wasn't comfortable giving personal information, gave me the phone number and went off on some robotic tangent, basically demanding I spell my name. I swear, it sounded like pre-recorded clips played in sequence, the same phrases repeated. Don't trust this one...

A man named Brian called and claimed he was calling on behalf of the fraternal order of policemen.  Very high pressure and would not give me a change to talk.  When I did, he claimed he could not understand me (He understood just fine when I said 'hello').

Called from CID: 360-547-1900 (Marysville, WA) and gave 1-877-367-5564.

Claimed he was a trainee.  When asked for their non-profit org number, silence then a hang up.

Recommendation: Do not trust!  Do not donate!

Very short call.  Said it was for the Fraternal Order of Police - to help officers and families who have had incidents.
