Call from a Lady saying charges being brought against so I called the number back and they said they are from Oakwood companies the number was 855-298-3415

Called me twice looking for my daughter. I asked what were these charges about and the young woman speaking "spouted some kinda Bullsh#@" the charges being sealed.

So i feel like a fuckim idiot... :,( they said i owed 350 i gavve them 150 i called the number i was origionally given abd yup its no longer in service needless to say i changed my bank card but the lady at usc aka capital management sollutions gave me a po box in seattle the bank gave me an arizona address and the better business could not identify them by name or number i filed a complaint with the bbb please do the same at www.bbb.org and at the atorneygeneral.gov

I got a call yest. July 20, 2012 around 4:30 pm from a lady named kimberly martin and the number to respond to was 855-533-3946 so i called it back and it was USC so i guess another number to add to the list but she left a message with mother as well saying they had got complaints filed in there office and i needed to contact them or they were going to my place of employment and at the end of the call she said GOOD LUCK, i had to laugh because what legitment business would say good luck and hang up.

I received a voicemail and have been for a few months now regarding a case about an old boyfriend! I haven't been with this guy in like 12 years and am now married. Really? They said they needed to get a hold of him and me ASAP!  That he listed me as a relative and there are actions to file suit or some bull crap. They are now trying to get me involved. Glad I looked them up and saw all these posts. They also have a new # 855-210-0478.

i rec'ed message on another relative's phone, say "we are suing you and need to know the where abouts of the individual, court papers will be served to her" i looked up the USC at 855-254-5947, was asked to leave my number. what is going on and who is USC?

Just received a phone message telling me to call  855-266-6185 the woman told me that I had missed several court dates,  I have never been served with papers or court dates,  she also said that they are filing the papers with the courts today, if I missed court dates, wouldn't the courts already have papers filed.  Believe me this is a scam do not fall for it and before you do anything, anything check with a lawyer.  This call also came from an unknown number,

yes... same exact thing happened to me. they left a left a message on my vm, with a case number. when I called them back, she threaten to take me to court over 200.00. even told me about court cost.. so I asked how can I make a pymnt, the only opt she gave me was with a credit card over the phone... REALLY.... so I Googled this USC company and a friend of mine card them to ask what kind of company it was and the lady was nasty with her over the phone and hung up on her... they need to cut it out....

what about a comany called oakwood mediation outta los angeles they have a locator in santa fe that has called me. He said i have charges against me for check fraud at a payday loan place the check never hit the account or i was never notified by the loan place. they had sold it to a collection agency anyway this guy calls and says he has an adress and will be coming to serve me what do i do cus he aint a law enforcement officer or dont have authority he is a locator for that company.

Looks like UCS has a new number....I got a call and they left a message about a file number, subpoena, case, etc....the number they left was 855-254-5947.  I called it back and it was the same thing like everyone else...i had an outstanding payday loan debt from Loanpoint.com from 2004 for $200...they said it was going to court i would be served papers, etc. etc....First I told them they were way outside the statutue of limitations for legal action on a debt, second of all i asked for proof of the debt and why the company would pay several hundred dollars to go to court for a $200 debt.....this got them flustered and a brief argument ensued i ended up hanging up on them....total bunch of frauds....oh the best part - they claimed they are not a collection agency!

These three words are a scammers worst nightmare. And you have the power to stop them.

It seems that this collector has added a new number as of May 15th, 2012: 888-267-2945. Next week, probably another one. Then another, ect, ect, ect. These scammers buy non credible debt for a penny on the dollar, or are assigned such debt without any verification of liability.
The industry calls them, "JDBs", or junk debt buyers. These firms buy multiparty debt that is not credible, hire a few dishonest people, and according to our states DOJ, "have a drawer full of prepaid cell phones". That is why in many cases when you try and return these calls, they cannot answer them. They move about like roaches in the night. Always changing telephone numbers, people and locations. Please, DO NOT RETURN these calls. That way they know that you are worried about this situation and can use this against you. They don't even care who you are, or if you are the correct person. They want your money. Just tell them that you do not give out this information via telephone, validate this debt via a bill and if you know so much about me, why ask, just bill me. DO NOT give them your address or any personal information on the telephone. EVER!. They just wish to confirm a person willing to pay them immediately. They will either hangup, or most likely will state that they will send you such bill, and if it is a scam, you won't hear from them again. If not hangup. You never need to verify who you are as they called you and a credible debt collector would mail you a verification FIRST.
Pay day loans are the fastest growing scams on the internet. Our DOJ stated that in the past three and a half years it has become such a problem that they cannot keep up with the complaints.
The best way to stop these scams is with one sentence:
"Please validate this debt". Politeness is intelligence. These scammers expect you to be upset. This is one of their tactics. Being polite to them you have just beat them, initially.
They will hang up and stop calling you. At least for this situation. Then, you must report this behavior to the proper authorities. You can go to your states Department Of Justice site and file as well as the FBI site.
This is a criminal act and unless you report it, it is nearly impossible to locate, fine, arrest and shut them down. Please word your exact message as it was either left on your voice mail, or was told to you. This way the authorities can trace the scam to the people responsible because each scammer has this fingerprint or pre written sales pitch. The FBI looks for certain words used. It is illegal if they tell you that you will be arrested, or call you employer, or after hours, or even to ask others in your family for information. Make sure your family members never give out information on the telephone as well. The best way to combat these evergrowing scams is to state for them to validate this debt, and in many cases, they will even say they will send you a bill. Don't wait by your mailbox, because you just won that battle of this scam. Remember, these scammers will use and say ANYTHING such as behaving like a credible debt collector to get your money. And what is sad, many people who panic pay without question. Don't be one of them. Remember:

1. Please validate this debt.
2. Do not call them back.
3. Report them.

This sounds just like what happened to me. They left a message on my phone and called my sister and my grandmother which is strange cause we have different last names ( I think they got that from Facebook) said I was supposed to have been inthe prince William county (va) court this morning for 7 charges on me and there was a warrant out for my arrest. Looked on the VA state judiciary site there was no court hearing on there that week with my name listed. And if there was a warrant out for your arrest why would they call you ..they would just come get you.....I was never served with any legal papers. I was getting a call a while back about that this person had legal papers I needed to sign and would be at my residence or place of business...I never received anything ....has anyone had this similar experience?

My mom and sister received a call on 5/3/12 from an unidentified subject who stated that if I did not call 888-373=5024 ext 346 that the "sheriff" would be out to arrest me.  I called the number which came back to US Capital (sp?).  The extension came back to a Tammy Hanter.  I called again and spoke to a male, who refused to identify himself. When I spoke to him and informed him of the calls and he stated "we do not make phone calls from this office."  He stated that I had been contacted by a "process server at your place of employment or home."  If I was served then why are they calling my relatives looking for me? He proceeded to inform me that this was from a payday loan from 2009 from Impact Cash. ( Impact Cash recently had an SEC filing which the owner's assets were frozen due to charge of a Ponzi scheme).  I informed him that I would need US Capital's address and fax number so I can obtain validity of debt and sent him the appropriate FCDPA paperwork.  He refused. He was very condescending. I hung up on him.  DO NOT PAY THESE PEOPLE.  THEY ARE THIRD PARTY COLLECTION AGENCIES THAT MOST LIKELY DO NOT HAVE A LICENSE TO PRACTICE ANY TYPE OF BUSINESS IN THEIR OR YOUR STATE.  I left several messages for Tammy Hanter and informed her that I filed a complaint with my state's attorney general's office on consumer affairs and requested a call back.  We shall see if she does. Most likely, they will move on to the next victim.  These companies buy junk debt, call a large amount of people, threaten legal action which they know is illegal and cannot follow up on in hopes of scaring people into paying them.  So if they call ten people, there will be at least one person that pays them, so in the end it is worth it to them to call considering they purchased the debt for pennies on the dollar.  Advice:  file a complaint with your state's consumer affairs/state attorney general's office...call US Capital and let them know you did that...

I also received a call on April 19, 2012 stating I owed a loan from 2008 with ACE Cash Express of 700.00. First they left me a message sounded legiate the name was Lisa @ext 376, so i called and the guy that answered was definitely not Lisa and when i asked for her he kind of hestiated but i still didn't think anything was wrong, he asked me to verify the last 4 digits of my soical and date of birth then thats when all hell broke a loose. I told him i never made this loan and was not going to pay them a dime he told me i would be arrested. Very rudely he said you need to tell the truth you know you made the loan and once again I told him i did not. he told me they had contacted my Bank (that was a joke) and named a company supposely were I used to work. None of the information he gave me was correct. I have placed them on the Homeland Security along with 5 others I've gotten in the last week. They need to do something this is very upsetting. I'm so stress out. the number they are calling from is 888.315.6568

This company call claiming to be representing a Pay Day loan company. Demanding a pay 600.00 I did not borrow, and went as far as to tell me I was going to be served at my home or place of employment.

I also recieved a call from this same company today and they tried to pull the same crap. But they used a different number. It's an 888 number so be on the look out for that one also.

A lady called and left a message stating I had fraudulent charges against me and that they were gonna issue me a summons for court and gave me a case number.  I called the number back and the gentleman couldn't tell me what type of company it was and where it was located.

The way they talk to and threaten about arresting you is against the law.  i received a call from this number and turned around called a lawyer and now she is handling it.  when i told them what my lawyer said to tell them they all of a sudden got really nice and said they would not be bothering me anymore.

Someone from USC and Associates called my house looking for my daughter.  They left a message on my answering machine stating they are calling from Shelby County and they are calling in reference to a debt owe and missed court date. They stated they were calling prior to issuing a warrant for her arrest I called and starting questioning them about USC &Associates.  The representative gave his name as Alex McGee and he is in Los Angeles CA.  I asked several questions about the company and he alleges he did not know because he just started working there two months ago.  He became very agitated with me for the questions asked.  My son also contacted them and the representative wanted identifying information on my daughter which hedid not provide. My son stated he was a police officer and the representative stated they had the wrong person and would add to do not call list.  The phone number they called from was 877-373-0268 and left ext 368 to call

Anyway so I called the # and it said welcome to usc press 0 for the next rep. So the phone just rung and tj.g then a voicemail picked up for a man named Aaron so I googled the # and found this site and I'm not shocked cause I knew it was a scam just by them calling my dad instead of me I'm not that hard to find by the law plus I've never been in trouble I'm going to call until I get someone today and I'm cussing somebody the fu*ck out

I received a call on this concerning a payday loan. Advising me that they would come to my job. Even went as far as calling in the customer service que TELLING other coworkers that I owed money and that they were going to come serve me today with the sheriff's dept. Over $400, REALLY? I simply advised her, well since you got ALL of the info.. handle your business. I never received anything in the mail to try to resolve this so called debt and even asked them if they would send me an email with the amount owed and to whom I need to send it to. She told me that I need to settle w her today with a visa or mastercard... Must be sick!!!!

i didnt receive this call directly they called my family members who i dont even have the numbers to and said that if i didnt call then back i would have a warrent for my arrest. how is this even possible when they dont even have a contact number to contact me lol o well i guess i will see what happends
