I got a similar call and they were saying I won a 3 day, 2 night vacation along with a $1000 grocery shopping card. They informed me that they would send me a package through UPS and I needed to pay shipping costs. He wanted my credit or debit card number as a form of payment. I told him I'd pay C.O.D. but he wouldn't accept it. The 1st telephone number he gave me was 1-866-109-8966 claming to be from Premier shopping Center. After I told him I didn't have my cards with me to make payment he then gave me another phone number (1-877-375-4546) as a "courtesy" number so that i could call him back. But, then he asked when would be a good time to call back after giving me 2 phone numbers. I told him to call tomorrow, he agreed to and then he asked me my name. At this point I hung up the phone. The caller ID name said: Intl. Number, The Number said: 323-3064 (which was local), but the caller said they were from "Premier Shopping Center" and gave me phone numbers: 1-866-109-8966 & 1-877-375-4546.

This phone number showed up on my credit card with 4 charges ranging from $2.00, $2.97, $29.97 and $49.97. Total amount charged is $84.91, and I don't even know who they are. The line item on my charge card invoice lists them as "ADV BENEFT 8773754546". Tried calling them several times and was automatically forwarded to another number which was unavailable.

This phone number keeps showing up on my credit card for reasons unknown. Dates of calls were: 5/28/09 and 6/11/09 during this last bout of scams. Currently working with credit card company to remove charges. This occurred once before with over $3oo worth of bogus charges.

I received a call multiple times from this number when I finally answered they told me I had won 3 days/2nights vacation but couldn't say to where. I also won a $1000 gift card to "restaurants". I was asked for my credit card number to cover the cost of the package. When I resisted they forwarded me to their "supervisor". I told them I needed to decline because I didn't feel comfortable and they hung up on me.
DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER. You should never have to pay for a prize.

Yes. And it is fraudulent. In order to get the card you have to sign up for various other offers and remain an active and current member in order to receive a chance to win the $1000 grocery voucher. It's junkmail that I was duped into paying $3.90 for. I'm cancelling my card through my bank and reporting these guys to the Better Business Bureau and to my local news station's investigative report team. They been advertising this like crazy on the local radio stations and it's not what it says it is. The company wouldn't even issue a refund when I called to complain. good luck!

Calls and bank drafts for 29.95, 2.95, 1.95
Adler 2009-03-13 00:54:29 Unknown
Lol. I had a feeling they were scams but I wanted to try it out anyways. Right after I talked to them this thursday March 12, 2009, I checked my account every 15 minutes online until they charge me that $2.95 (which don't hurt). After that I called Wachovia and cancel that card. I didn't even request a new one. Now they won't have access to my card number. Then when they send me that package if it is true what they say (Hopefully). I'll be able to cash up and they won't have my card number to take money out of. Did anybody ever receive the package that they promise they would send.
jv_pac 2009-03-05 18:12:08 Unknown
yep, they told me the absolutelly same thing.
i believed as well. they took of 2.95 right away and i called my bank and got my card locked. i am waiting to see something in the mail. just another learning experience.
get your card locked and then they will not have acess to it anymore

@ srsmith:
I just noticed much larger charges ($30, to be exact) on my checking account from that number. I admittedly made the stupid mistake of thinking they had a legit offer. What did you do in your case and what would you recommend I do?
srsmith 2009-02-12 23:19:35 Unknown
Be careful. I noticed some charges on my credit card for $1.95 $2.79,$2.00 and this was one of the phone numbers used. There was 4 deductions in one day. Small deductions at this time but no telling how far they would go.

Be very careful. they called me too and saying that I won somthing. ! They were trying to get my credit card number. They tell me that I got free vacation, just need to pay for handling fee for free package. Their strategy is to push you to release your credit card number immediately and then you can't find them anymore.
NEVER GIVE THEM your Credit card number!!!
