Just got a text tonight (at 8pm no less) from 813-579-7459 saying: "RIFCU NOTICE: Your card 4306XX has been DEACTIVATED. Please call 813-377-1775." I don't have an account here so I called the real RIFCU number and was assured by the credit union that this is a scam. She said that they randomly text numbers so do not call them back or give them any information!

Yes, you should call your cc company/bank. tell them you need to freeze your account, definately don't need someone accessing your hard earned money. got my son to respond last night, too - don't feel stupid, these types of people prey on trusting souls like you & my boy. GOOD LUCK.

We received text saying our credit card was deactivated, said Credit Union Alert. I find this extremely suspiscious...someone may be looking to collect personal information.
