Got the same text: "8773947289@cuna.mobi()Your account status is restricted, place call us immediately at 1-877-394-7289 to remove restriction. Thank you."

What the heck??? I am not calling them, I don't know who they are!!! But how did they get my number and where do they get off texting me?!!?

Dear sirs:

I am the owner of the domain cuna.mobi   Mobi is an extension for mobile phones, and, if I am reading well, the messages you are receiving seem to come from 8773947289@cuna.mobu()  where the extension of the domain is mobu and not mobi. More than probably is a faked address and an illegal phishing action. Cuna means "cradle" in Spanish, which is my mother tongue, by the way.

I have the domain parked with parked.com and that is my only implication with this matter is being the legal owner of the domain.

Hope all this clarifies that I have nothing to do with the unfortunate messages you are receinving.

SAME MESSAGE AS ALL THE OTHER POSTS TODAY AT 0625.  SAYS THE TEXT CAME FROM 36245.

Okay should have guessed this one immediately.  This is more than likely a phishing scheme against www.cuna.com (Credit Union National Association) which is a trade association that serves America's Credit Union's.  They reported knowledge of the phishing on September 15th as seen here: http://www.cuna.org/initiatives/internet_fraud.html

I got the same message on my cell phone this morning.  Glad this site was here to give me a "heads up!"

But alas...could all be spoofed info...

As the others have said, this is a scam.  I was just wondering if it appears to be concentrated on a specific carrier.  I have AT&T and I would guess that the poster above with the iPhone does as well.

I got the same message this morning. I was first thinking it was my cell phone provider, but couldn't figure it was since the text didn't reference there name like any of the others from them I got. So I called it and it was an automated response. Said something about it being a "united credit card", or something like that. Said my account was restricted and to put in my account number or credit card number to have it removed. Of course, I didn't. But the same message was sent to my husbands phone and his number is never given out or used. We use my cell as the main phone, and its the main phone on the account. I'm going to call my provider and see what they can tell me to stop them texting again.

I looked this up online and found that it was a scam previously sent under other phone numbers.  It seems when people call they attempt to solicit account or credit card info from them.  DO NOT REPLY.
