I work for a investment company and a bunch of our clients gave me a letter that have this number on it. Do not give  this company any info. This is a ID scam.  No company that you can trust would  be so vage. Protect yourself.  This number is a SCAM

I just got one of these cards today.  If legitimate, which I doubt, why the vagueness?  There is no company name.  Just a toll free number.  I did a toll free reverse telephone search and the number was associated with an IT type business and nothing about annuities.  Second, why the third party contact?  If I had an annuity that is about to reach the end of its surrender period, then why doesn't the company I have the annuity with contact me directly.  And that brings up another point.  Why doesn't the card mention the company I have the annuity with.  Why the "cloak and dagger" stuff of calling a number to find out?  Reading above, this M. Crain seemed to have his thumb on the pulse of things, so maybe he can enlighten us all.

So who are you M. Crane.  I received a card with the same number and don't know you as one of my agents.  The location on the card gives and address and suite but that is for a South Texas Oil company.  Who what is up? As far as I am concerned you should be lumped with the others since these cards are very vague.

Never written on a blog before.  Since my name is here thought I should chime in.  Let me clear up some confusion.  The card you received was sent to you by mistake.  The mailhouse we use to keep in contact with our existing clients made a huge error.  For that I apologize.  They somehow got our list of current clients confused with another companies propspective client marketing list.  Needless to say the call center we use, (based in Ohio), to set annuity service reviews with our current clients had no idea what was going on when called. I applaud the representative that did not give out my information.  She knew something was not right and alerted me to to what was going on.  My current clients know where I live and where I am from.  Of course you would not know who I am.  You are not one of my clients.  You received the card in error.  It was a mistake.  Again, I apologize for that and cannot change what happened.  You were not the only one to receive a card in error.  The one thing I do resent is being lumped in with the dishonest, unscrupulous, slick financial people that make the financial industry such a cluster.  As noted we are registered with the Better Business Bureau and have never received a complaint.  We pride ourselves on being honest and are determined to make a diffence in this marketplace.  We spend our day undoing the damage and fixing the problems other financial reps cause when they are dishonest and greedy.

I called these fine folks thinking that they probably had my name since I had spent many hours dealing with scammers when I was handling my parents' estate.   It is amazing how they want to prey on the seniors...and that includes insurance companies...The address on the card that I received is Austin and does not exist in the phone directory according to 411.  The card was post marked in Lubbock, 11/17/09.  The first "scheduler" with UPFG Client Services gave me Mike Crain as the agent that would contact me.  The second "scheduler" said that they were in Ohio.  I gave her the name of Mike Crain and she immediately knew that I was not Mike Crain.  Mike Crain lives in Texas but she would not tell me north, south, Panhandle or where.  But, I am sure that this "service" is a fishing operation to prey on those who are prone to fall victim to slick talking financial types.  I told them to remove my name from their list.  Everyone out there needs to get a copy of Ken Fishers latest book, "How to Smell a Scam".

Received a card in Amarillo, TX, postmarked Amarillo, w/Austin, tX return address.  Searched UPFG Client Services Dept., Austin, TX, & found nothing, nothing in Ama--not even in phone book.  Searched BBB for both Austin & Ama & found nothing.  Then did phone # search, nothing.  Finally found a "location" in Amarillo located across the street from our County courthouse, which would be in a small bldg. housing a bail bond service & another 1 or 2 small offices--not a "successful appearing location--but no phone #.  All-in-all, I'd say this is a "come-on", "fishing" effort.  If an annuity is about to mature, it seems to me we'd hear directly from the company.

The address on the card seems valid as Google linked it to the UPFG company, where you can find a link to BBB as http://centraltx.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=40&bbb=0825&firm=90028757 which then has a link to http://www.upfg.net/upfg.aspx which seems to be valid also, but the 1-877 contact number did NOT match up (I suspect it is a filter). Look at the web site and see if their business would apply to your needs....

I received a card in the mail from UPFG Client Services Dept. at 604 Buena Vista Cr.  Georgetown, Texas 78633.  The phone number to contact is 1-877-398-5249 regarding an annuity that has matured.  I'm not certain, but I think the 877 area code is in Canada.  Does anyone have an answer to this?
