caller ID says '800 Service'.  This number calls at least 3 or 4 times every month.  Sometimes a person would leave a message saying "I was just told to call you concerning a safety meeting'.

they call everyday 3 or 4 times a day. we never answer 877 or 800 numbers. in the last  two months I can count on my calls received log on my computer they have called us 96 times, never left a message. They are calling on my fax line go figure.

Last fall these people called and asked for the "owner" of XYZ.  XYZ was actually a small business some years ago but the guys are long retired. My husband happens to have the same name!  I did not tell him that, just let him go on about how even if we have no actual EMPLOYEES we are probably not in compliance and they would help us be sure we do not get fined.  We have to pay them a certain amount each month for up-to-date documentation , etc!!!   How can you be non-compliant if you have no employees????  Anyway, I finally told him my husbands' boss handles all of that so not to worry. Now, here they are calling us again!!!!!   I happened to be at work today & they did leave a message to please call.  I hope they get some unwanted calls every night of the week like we do!

"My name is Antonio. I was told to contact you regarding your safety program out there.  You can reach me at 888-619-5799."  Caller ID displayed Toll Free Caller 877-398-9254, which I never answer because they're all scammers.  If it was a legitimate company the guy would have left the name of the company.

I knew instantly this was a telemarketer. All this background noise and it took a few seconds for the guy to start talking. He asked for our owner by name (although completely botched it up). When I asked who he was he ignored me. I asked to take a message - he told me it's too much information to leave for a message and that he will just call back later.  Caller ID had the number as 877-398-9254.

Glad I checked this out because when he calls back I can mess with him now!

I told them to call tomorrow and ask for Mike Hunt.

A note on the Safety Poster scam.  The posters are valid and meet federal requirements, but are insanely overpriced.  All the required posters are available for free online.

Just called said he'd call back tomorrow since I said our safety coordinator wasn't available.

Got the same call too.  Exactly how you described it.  Background noise and garbled words after state and federal.  Do not call back.  It's a solicitation.

Thought I should check here first before I called and glad I did.
I used to get the same garbage in the mail about the OSHA complience poster scam.  They must have turned to telemarketing to try to scam people out of thier money.

Just got this exact same message from him.  Caller ID said it was a local number.

Issac  called asking for owner, said to call this # back, but  caller ID said Castle Rock WA.  360 967 4165

Got a phone message from "Paul Sutton" giving this call-back number (he called from 201-470-6797).  He called in regard to "State and Federal safety training requirements".  I looked up the call-back number and found this post.  

This is very likely related to some recent purchases that we have made for updated OSHA safety related materials.  Possibly someone on the inside at one of the legitimate safety suppliers gets a kick-back by providing contact information to these scammers.

i got the same message on my machine.  i'm glad that i checked out this phone number online before i call back.  these sales are totally shamless.  they would use any lies and excuses to sell you things.  what a scam!

Same phone call, A Mr. Fitzgerald calling about your state and federal safety training requierments.  It's important for you to call me immediately at 877-398-9254.  Yeah right!

"Hi this is Sean and I wanted to talk to you about your safety training requirements. Please call back at..." or something very much like that.

Showed up as local Colorado number. The message left was - Hi, My name is Paul. I'm calling in regards to the state and federal training requirements. You can reach me at  (877) 398-9254.

They do their darnedest to make it sound like very important.

Got the same call from Bob Steele (same name as a cow boy movie star from the early 50's ). He told me my business  was not osha compliant . I dissolved my business eight years ago. If he wants to run a sucessul scam he should update his phone list.

Mike McCoy said he wanted to discuss safety policy with the owner... lots of background noise, sounded like he was on the road. Gave this 877-398-9254 number as a "direct line to my office" ... showed up on caller ID as a Dallas number.

James Livingston called from 518-396-5918 and left a voice message.  He said he was told to contact us regarding Safety Meetings and to call back to 877-398-9254,  Wonder who asked him to call us!

Just another "plot" for telemarketers to get return calls and then to confirm that the number they called is a working number so they can sell it to others.  BEWARE ! ! ! !   NEVER CALL BACK TO FOLLOW-UP ON MESSAGES FROM A TELEMARKETER.

Both numbers are being placed on my DO NOT ANSWER OR CALL BACK NUMBERS LIST.  To date, I have 350+ numbers in numerical order.  It is very sad!

Got a call from:  Mark xxxxx.  And I'm putting Xs b/c the guy can't seem to pronounce his own last name clearly not his own DIRECT number.  Left a vmail saying it was regarding our safety program so I need to call him back at 877 3xx 9254.  However, the number he actually called from was:  703 594 4932.

Is it me or have these telemarketer calls been growing more and more?...
