Same here, I received 2 voice messages saying that there were calling to help me stay on track with my loan payments from WCCCD because my upcoming payment was due because I dropped below half-time.  I called back and asked who they were and why they were calling.  The lady stated the same thing from the voice messages. I told them I left WCCD 2 years ago and didn't need any help with payments as I was still in school FULL-TIME and didn't have any payments due!.  She asked for me to verify my last 4 of my SS#, my DOB.  It just seemed fishy to me. She then asked what school I was attending and the status, which I had already told her.  If you're nelnet like you said you would know what school I went to when I left WCCCD because I took out another loan with you!!   I told her to delete my name from whatever list she was looking at and not to call me again.

is the webpage from baker college that tells you about the partnership and the responiblerepay is their website

not technically a scam unless you count baker college a scam to begin with which most people don't realise until after they get out of that school.

They are trying to collect a debt.

I have received calls and voicemails from this number (877-402-5817). It is NelNet Diversified Solutions. NelNet Diversified Solutions IS associated with Baker College. It is listed right on their website.

http://www.baker.edu/campus_sites/main.cfm?ci ... 6974ADCBA22A815

Look to the right-hand side of the page. It is at the top, right next to the picture of the campus president.

I don't know who posted above, claiming they are Baker College, but they are wrong.

Out it is legit my friend. It means you haven't set up payment arrangements or forbearance/deferment. You get a total of five years I believe before you have to start paying!

It is nelnet regarding your student loans. I suggest you either finish school so you can pay back your loans or get a deferment until you can. You will have to pay them back one way or another. You can run but you cant hide!

You sound like an idiot. Not only is you comment written in a way that massacres the English language, but the content shows you are ignorant as well. It is on the bottom of several aid forms that financial aid does not cover summer classes since summer classes are not designated as part of the regular school year. If you are going to complain, please do so in a way that does not prove that you are dumber than anyone could imagine.

Event Reminder
Sat for 4 mins on hold after that heard A LOT of background noise from the other workers. They asked for my date of birth and account number which i have NO clue of or last four of social. After that he just asked if my payment amount was ok and if I would like help changing it to a lower amount.

It was annoying but hey, the guy was actually very nice about it. Although if I did not find this web page I never would have answered since I have NEVER heard of this company before. By the way I haven't even started classes yet so have no payment and he was referring to future payments which was kind of strange.

i recieved a call from this number to call them back about my status at Baker College. I called Baker College and told them the number and the company name. They confirmed it was a company they partnered with to talk to you about your loan.  I did not call the company back and they haven't called me back.  My advice is to call Baker College directly if you have any questions about your status with  financial aid.

I am getting incredibly sick of them calling me. Repayment on my loans doesn't being for a few months and I am well aware of what I need to do. When they call it is a computer asking me to press 1 if I am the correct person. It then puts me on hold for 10-15 minutes without ever picking up to a real person. Hard to tell them to remove you from a list if they never get you off hold.

I'm glad this company contacted me! I was completely clueless about how my student loans worked, and the girl I talked to with at this Responsible Repay explained it all very patiently. I have a year left of school and I didn't know of the different types of help that they have. She told me how interest works and went over repayment plans in a way that I understood and didnt get confused. I've had a good expierence with Baker and I'm glad I'm a student there. Its a good thing people! Dont ignore it.

Baker College should not be replying on an web page about working with a service. Baker College should be professional enough to send out a letter and email to all students current or not and let them know! How unprofessional are you? Who is "WE"? Just "Baker College"? Completely unprofessional way to handle your business.

i took 2 classes during Summer 2010 and financial aid paid for it. Financial aid covers tuition if you are at least attending part time. It is separate from the fall, winter, spring aid.

Baker already provides entrance and exit counseling for students with loans. Why they would need to hire in an outside company to do this is suspicious at best.

I doubt that it is legit. You wouldn't use an outside agency to deal with government loans. This is most likely a phishing scam.

I am very suspicious of this call and you should be too. Baker would notify you via their campus email or website if they were going to use something like this. It sounds Phishy to me. I advise not returning this call and what ever you do DON'T GIVE THEM ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION!!.

I have to agree with Bob. When you receive the award letter, it only lists awards for Fall, Winter and Spring semesters. You can also drop courses if you found out that your tuition would not be covered. You can also view your account information and awards online. I am sorry that you had a mix up with your financial aid. Tuition is a very pricey, unexpected expense.

In regards to this phone call, I am a bit confused. I am not graduating this year and the message said that I had to call regarding my enrollment status. I checked my Financial Aid and student account online and everything is as it should be. I wish that they had used different wording that was not as "scary". I understand that they want you to call back, but there are other means to do so.
