I got this call, and I was not feeling well, and distracted at work. I started answering their questions. Now they are claiming to be representing access local (does not exist) and that they are going to sponsor your website on their front page for a month to see if you get more business, and that you will only be billed through your local phone company if you like the results. At the end, I tried to tell her nevermind and to not call back, and the line went dead. Then I walked around pissed because I knew I was getting scammed, then someone "a supervisor" called me back to let me know that we had gotten cut off, and asked if I had any questions, I expressed my concern with her, and then she said just to enjoy my "free 30 days" being listed on their site, to see if it boosts my business, and that I will be contacted again to see if I am receiving any boosted business, and I can cancel at any time. I still think it's a scam, but I didn't give them any "exact info" only things they could lookup online anyways...so maybe this wont turn into a cluster F...I will be cancelling with them as soon as I hear back...I don't believe this BS...but they already have my basic info now...

I have received many calls and usually do not answer but for some reason the number was coming up as a client on my caller ID so I answered. A representative named Randy Cortez claimed that he was updating our listing on zipweb.com to be a featured business. Claimed at no charge we would be a featured business for 30 day's and if I wanted to continue after 30 days it would be 99.95 per month. I asked him to stop talking so fast with the details and to answer if I did not contact them in 30 days would I then start to be billed automatically the 99.95 monthly fee. He said they would call 3 times during the 30 days to see if we were happy and wanted to continue but would not directly answer my question. I asked him to call back in 10 min so I could research the company. Thanks to this site I was able to tell him that we would not want any part of this when he called me back. So thank you to you all that took the time to provide your experiences.

Phone rings no one there

The caller argued with me about why my business is on the Do Not Call List....  kinda disrespectful...

This number calls.. you answer.. nothing.. dead air. Must be creating a list of 'live' prospects to call

We got a call from these guys and same deal.  They asked about our business and would NOT answer how we get billed after the trial.  Is it an automatic billing?  Do we opt in of our in volition, or do you do it automatically?  Never answered me straight.  Called my phone company to notate my account about this and that I don't want a charge, and also called 877inmyzip back and told them I don't want their service.  They said "It takes 5-7 business days for an account to be created, so you'll have to call and cancel at that time."  What a scam.

4/1/2010 6:20 pm 877-408- 3390 This is a company called Zipweb  Online advertising . They have been calling my shop for some time now  but lately it is 2 to 3 times a day. I have called the number back  a few times and  asked to be removed from their call list . They told me that it takes 72 hours to  have a number removed . Well  Zip Web  called 2 more times today  so I called the number back again and asked for a manager . A woman came on the line and I asked her if it was alright to record their conversation and she said yes . I informed her that I have asked politely  to be removed from the call list and  that if  my numbers were not removed this time I would forwards the  recorded conversation to the MA attorney generals office  as  harassment for continuing the calls after a number of attempts to have them removed. So now just have to wait and see if  that worked or I will forward the  recording to the  attorney generals office .

That's the best advice.  One of my favorites is...would you please speak up, I can't hear you, would you say that again, is that english you are speaking.  I make them repeat everything four or five times and act like I am really interested in doing whatever they have.  I have done this with many repeat offenders and then I am miraculously put on their "never call this guy again" list.

they are a company called web zip. I called them 40 times on my comcast line. They were pissed. I said did you get the message. They don't call me anymore!!!!!!!!

They call every day and sometimes twice, probably on automatic dialer.  No message ever left.  If you put your name on the do not call, and they call you after 30 days, go to do not call site and put in a complaint.

I get these phone calls constantly. They want to speak to the owner or manager so I say "yeah well speak, I'm one of those."  Then they start with "We want to feature your business on" and I start saying "No", they say "But if you will just listen", "NO!", "But we'll", "NO!!! Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO" and I keep on until they hang up on me.

Asking them to take me off their list hasn't worked. I have tried going the nice route and that got me zilch so this is what I do all the time now.

We have received 10 to 15 calls per day from this company with all calls being dead air.  I finally called the number back.  The caller is a company called "Zip Web" and they sell internet advertising.  I explained to them that they are tying up our phone lines at a business and we do not have the manpower to handle their call volume in addition to our customer call volume.  She offered to remove us from their calling list telling me it would be effective immediately.

This is an online Marketing Firm. Called the number to see who they were on 4/28/10.

they call everyday asking for the owner or manager that can make decisions and when I say he's not available they just say ok I'll call back another time, thank you, "click" its quite annoying!

i got a call from this number as well looking for the owner or manager. when i said they weren't present, the representative just hung up on me. So, I called the number that appeared on my caller id and an automated voice answered saying "all calls will be monitored" Less than minute later, a representative named Jose answered. First I asked what their company name was. He said "Zip Web" I explained to him what one of their company reps said and did. I asked him to put me on the do not call list. He said it will take up to 2 days or so for this to happen.

They keep calling and there was finally someone on the other end this time.  I asked what company she works for and she said Evis.  When I paused to write down the name she hung up. I found an Evis data marketing company online.

they have called 3 more times since my last post and I have already filed 3 more claims with the FCC against them. That is the only way to get them.

Keeping them on hold will not do anything since they don't use regular telephone land lines for their calls, they use VOIP which is Internet based calling at fractions of a penny per minute cost. They can run phone lines 24/7 for less than 20 bucks a year!

And most importantly, as soon as someone says 'Can I speak to the manager, owner etc." DO NOT SAY ANYTHING - just hang up!
They will record you and anything you say can and possibly will be spliced into a faked conversation to make you sound like you agreed to buying their services which they will charge to your PHONE BILL which you can do nothing about!!!

SO DO NOT TALK TO THEM, EVER, NOT ONE WORD!

Their outgoing message states; " call may be recorded for quality control purposes", placed me on hold for 3 minutes

I told them my call to them is being monitored for quality control purposes, and that I am on do not call list. Robin informed me I would be removed within 72 hours.

Received a call from these people last night confirming information about my company and that we would be featured on top of google, msn, and yahoo. The woman asked if i make decisions about the business and i told her i make marketing decisions, and told her she could not speak with the owner. Never once did she mention anything about a free-trial or any payments.. I didn't feel like talking to her anymore, so I told her we were closing and that all of that information is available on my company's website and abruptly hung up on her... Now I am afraid that they will set up an account for my company anyway since I'm sure I said "yes" to something during that conversation. Does anyone think I'll start getting bills now?

Tons of calls. No messages left.  Annoying as hell. Likely workers from India making a half penny a call.  Would like to see a CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THIS COMPANY.  Maybe we could sue for 90 percent of their total assets.

I have called this number back, told them to take the number they are calling off the list, they said it would take 72 hours.  Immediately got a call every 5 minutes for an hour.  6 days later they are still calling.  Told them again to take the number off, said it would take 72 hours.  Explained they already had gone past the 72 hours.  Also it is illegal to do automated calling in the state of Washington.  They just will not give it up.  They said the company name is E-Business.

What can we do about these abusive, intursive scumbags? How can we profit and make them financially hurt when they call?  I would like to hear ideas and results?

Every time they call and they do so often, it takes us away from some money making activity or, even worse, the phone line is busy and we miss out on an opportunity.  If Mr Obama wants to regulate something, regulate people like this.

Several calls came in today supposedly from Zip Web to confirm information.  When they ask for owner/manager I tell them to hang on and put them on hold and then never pick up again.  I figure if I can help make their business unprofitable they might stop calling!

Someone calls from 8774093390 every single day.  When I pick up they either immediately hang-up on me without a word, or they ask for a business that doesn't exist and then hang-up, before I have a chance to say "Add me to the Do-Not-Call list!"

Did it work?  Hasn't yet for us!

this nuber  877 408 3390 calls me numerous times a day and hangs up   I called and it is a online advertiser...  I asked Jasmine to remove my name from the list as this is extremely disruptive

we need to take control of America...   police the internet and stop this telephone telemarketing abuse!!!
