same deal.  has called me eight times in the last 24 hours.  nothing really there

calls constantly, some days every 5 minutes.  called them back and they were rude.  they do not leave a message.  I have turned my phones off and will not answer their calls.

This number calls my house at least 10 times a day....sometimes repeatedly...I refused to answer, because there is a hesitation...and this never stops them from calling back...So now...I crank my music up...and stick the phone in the speaker.....Think they will take the hint?  Try it....It works...

This number is constantly phoning my cell phone as well.  Isn't there anyway to block this abuse???

Number calls multiple times a day, mostly morning to mid day then slows down towards the evening.  Never anyone there, just an automated recording asking for a Paula O'Hurn.  unable to call back - pointless anyway.

They call my mother almost every day and ask for me. I live across the country and have never had the same phone number as my mother. It is very upsetting to her because they won't say who they are are what it concerns.

It is a collection agency, they keep calling my home asking for someone that does not live there, nor do I know them but they still keep calling, it comes up on my caller ID as "ENCORE RECOVERY AGENCY", upon further Investigation I found out they are indeed a collection agency. I have only had my phone # for about 2 mo. now and they told me that they can and will continue to call for up to 6-9 mo. I just don't answer there calls anymore, it's a waist of my time.

It is also called "ENCORE RECEV MG" with the number of 913-782-3333

I'm seriously getting annoyed by this.

I get many calls from this and another number at all hours of the day it can start from 4:30 am any day of the week and continue through late at night if this is a collection agency why are they allowed to do this and be able to get away with it. I have answered the phone in the past and nothing is ever said yet at times they are recording because there is a peep peep on the other end I hang up and it starts all over again after a few minutes. Can anyone tell us what can be done to end this harrasment and in justice.

They call over and over. The message ask for someone that does not live here. There must be a way to stop them.

Recently, we've been getting auto-dialed telephone calls (starting about 8am and continuing through the day) from an "OUT OF AREA" number with no associated telephone number.  If we do not answer, we get a blank message from an "unknown caller".

When you answer the calls, you get a recorded message to select "1" if you are a certain person (which I am not).  If you are not that person, there are no other options provided.  I selected "1" at various time in an attempt to persuade the person who picked up the call that I was not the person they needed to contact.  I was able to learn the following about the people who placed the call:

I have explained that the phone is listed to my name and address--not to the person they wish to locate at a different address--and asked that they remove me from their call list.  The calls might stop for a day or two and then begin again--sometimes up to 15 calls per day.

Answered call said they were ge money collecting for qvc....caller id said unknown i asked for a number to call back gave 877-409-2110 person very rude said i just got p/t work and would discuss later...said wanted to talk now and i said i would call back and she said she would tell her client i was refusing to pay...so i think it is collection agency.

Has called three times this morning already -10:09AM,8:58AM,8:28AM.  This occurs several times each day. There is a hesitant noise left on my voice mail, as if it an error happens as the automated message is curtailed.

The calls don't stop! If you let them know they are calling every 30 min after you ALREADY speak with them, they start calling every 10 mins!  No JOKE!  And that after I told them the person they need is not home, and took a message for them.  Creditors need to be put back on a leash were they belong!  Calling to collect a debt (which I have done before myself) is one thing, simply calling none stop (and yes autodialers can be changed in office!) is just plan being childish!  Stop playing on the phone like a bunch of kids with nothing better to do! STOP WAKING UP MY BABY YOU CREEPS!

Where I can imagine that their business is booming. When I asked them to stop the over the top computerized calls they denied they were making them. Well that was not true because I got the return phone number five minutes prior from one of their reps. Oh well, the computers are uncontrollable. Rude, unprofessional and not very smart.

I got a person by not doing anything when except answering the phone.  I did not hit and buttons I just waited.  A person came on and I asked him very nicely "May I help you"  He then asked if ______ was there.  I asked what company was calling.  He told me he couldn't tell me, but would like to speak to ____.  I then told him that person does not live at my home and I do not know that person.  I asked him again nicely to take my number off his call list.  He told me he would do so but the computer would probably put it back in after 10 days.

I was lucky enough to speak to a person the other day I explained that there is no Kevin Hopkins at this number or address.  I requested they take my number off the call list.  He said he would do so but unless they hear from Kevin Hopkins they will most likely put my number back in the computer. I asked him what the call was about and he told me he could only speak to Kevin Hopkins.   I told him this is crazy, they get to constantly call me for a person that doesn't even live in my home.  He said he was sorry but just wanted me to be aware that the calls probably will start again in about 10 days.

That is very childish. Ive worked for a collection agency before. And they work off an automatic dialer system so they cant control the calls. What you need to do is be mature and answer the phone instead of ignoring the calls and let them know! and ta da the calls would stop! its not like there mind readers or put your number in the system on purpose. as much as you hate being called they hate calling you ten times more!!! for the record 9 times out of 10... the people that usually pick up and hang up are usually the debtors trying to act like they dont owe anything.. sad story

Received more calls than I can count day and night for someone that does not live in my home. When I try to call back to get them to stop they are beyond rude and hang up on me. They make me crazy! I can not get anywhere with them.

They've been calling and calling and calling.  Unfortunately, someone else at our number has answered and they refused to provide a call back number, just harrased the person.  After finally getting a call back number, and several attempts of them just hanging up the phone when they answered, I finally spoke with a lady who was actually professional.  It turns out they are trying to collect for a debt they indicate was created several months ago with a company that has been out of business for years - wonder how this can happen. I asked them to forward the information regarding the debt and was told they had already, but in an envelope without any return address.  At least I now know what its about and the company who says I "owe" them so I can take the next steps.  Someone out there has or is creating bogus debt for collection.

It's Encore Debt collection. They started calling me this morning over a store credit card my sister has. I'm not sure why (or legally how) they can contact me over another adult's debt.

Greast advice they just called 2x and asked for someone unkown in my household. I called to let them know and was hung up on  both times

According to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act they are restricted to certain rules they mist follow, if they call you find out who they are trying to reach as they may have had your number previously.  they say its a personal business matter in order to avoid violating the privacy of the person they are trying to contact.  If they have an account with your name on it and you have not had that credit card or done business with that company DO NOT HANG UP!  You need to verify and get all the info about the account and file an identity theft affidavate with the federal trade comission!  Whether you beleive it or not the burden of proof is more on you than them and it can effect your credit! If you do not want them calling you get their info and mail them a certified letter stating so, by law they can keep calling you if you do not tell them in writing.

These idiots keep calling my 10 year old daughter's phone.  I've told them several times we are not the people they are looking for yet the calls remain.   I'm tyruly ready to take a road trip to this place and put my foot in somebody's A**!!!

These a*sholes are calling nonstop for a person that does not live here anymore. They are a low life collection agency who even hangs up on you when you say hello. I am trying to get a class action lawsuit going against them for harrassment and against anyone who hires them. They harrass innocent people non-stop and had the nerve to tell me I broke the law when I told them I was the person they were looking for just to see who hired them. It was QVC and their corporate office will be recieving the same sort of harrassment if they don't change their ways. They never sent a bill to this address or made a phone call to inquire about not being paid yet they hire thugs to call here and harrass the innocent. QVC'S CORPORATE OFFICE number is 484-701-1000 if you would like give them a taste of what they are doing to other people. I will be leaving a PO Box number soon to recieve any imformation from any of you wanting to sue them for harrassment also. Encore will pay. If they make sweet little ol' me so angry I am sure someone crazier then I am will go in their with a machine gun soon.

I got calls from this number today many times, the calls woke up my children. Is there a way to get off the list?
