If DirecTV is calling your cell phone (not landline) without your express consent, you can start a class action under the TCPA (Telephone Consumer Protection Act).

It's DirecTv. The called about some sort of special promo they were doing for the next 3 months for their HD Extra Pack or something.

They offer you discounted/free programming for between 3-6 mo and yes they do start charging at the end of the offer or you can cal at have another offer added to your package.  I have been with directv for 6 years and have only paid  $16.99 for movie channels and I have all if them.  That's an awesome deal if you ask me.

This appears to be at best a third party engaging in very bad business practices OR a spoofer, phishing for personal information.  Either way, number is now blocked.  Thank you Apple IOS 7.  I am picking "prank call" from the pull-down menu but truly, this website should add "phishing" or "possible fraudulent call" to the list, as either would be more accurate.

The Do Not Call lists are as big a scam as the scammers themselves.
Many of these calls come from businesses that you have an account with, making them exempt from your lists.
Do as I do, just don't answer and give them the satisfaction of getting under your skin.

I got a call from this number yesterday and accepted the temporary free channels.. I checked today and I had not been given any premium channels.  I called the main 1800 number and spoke to a csr. They told me that they had no information on any outbound calls to me and no premium channels were on my account.  Fishy...

This number just called my cell phone.  I have caller ID, so I did not answer.  I don't answer any long distance calls.  Don't know anybody with a long distance area code, except for three family members, and I know their area code and phone numbers by heart.  I am a Direct TV customer, but I do wish they'd stop calling and harassing me.  I agree with SniperX, if we wanted additional services, we would call.  This goes for anything - if I want something, I'll call you - don't call me.

Yes. It's Direct TV. They keep calling me because I've canceled their service a long time ago, and now they keep calling me back every day because they want me to come back. It's Harassment at this point.

if you're with the company, it's the real deal, but if you aren't. It's a damn bother.

My parents got call looking for me, saying it is Verizon. I have not had a Verizon account for 10 years!

To keep away identify thieves I have every credit card maxed out and no money in the bank

if you have a business relationship with a company, they can call you. they are excluded from the no-call list.

I used to have Direct-TV

I just got a call from this number but because the caller ID stated the name as "Not Provided" I just picked it up real quick and disconnected the call.  I refuse to answer calls from the unknown, unavailable, private, not available and not provided.  If it's important enough they can leave a message or stop hiding who they are when they call.

I an getting a call from this number everyday at 10:30 am (Pacific) for a week now. They are very aggressive. I guess I will answer it just to get them to stop calling!

This number called repeatedly.  When I finally answered, they hung up.

This number calls all the time. When I answered yesterday they said it was Directv rewards & I get 3 free channels til September 12th & it would take 2 hours to activate. I never got the channels so I called Directv this morning & they have no record of anyone calling me or know anything about rewards. When you call this # back it's a recording that says all representatives are busy leave a message & they will call you back later. They will also call and hang up or won't say anything.

I received my 7th phone call in 7 days. I finally answered it. It is Direct TV offering you updates and promotions. I do have Direct TV.  I told her to stop calling me and she got a little nasty. So I called 1-800-531-5000 and asked them to stop all solictation calls. The have a box they check if you do not want to be called about updates and promotions.  We will see if it works.

Scam, scam, scam....they have called me everyday this week without leaving a message so I decided to answer it today.  The guy said he was calling for "Irene" and he was from DishNetwork and had an award for her.  When I told him that I was not Irene, he asked for my information, which I refused to give him.  He said he would have to assume that I was Irene then....I told him not to call back and hung up....This is a phishing scam, they are trying to get you to give them your private information...These calls should be reported to the authorities.

This number called me offering free movies for three months free after that it would be a fee monthly she had me verify my info and said it would be working shortly that was it after work I go to watch its not working I call direct tv nothing, no notes, or anything. Fraud!!

I have been getting these calls once a week for a few months, nobody answers when I speak. We did get Direct TV installed last year so I guess that triggered it based on responses from others on this site.

I'm a directv customer, but can I still make them add me on their Do Not Call list?

Those knuckle-heads used to call me twice a day, nearly every day at times until I finally answered to tell them to stop calling me, that was about 6 months ago, now they are back to their old tricks and have started right back up again, Uhg so so so annoying.

They have called as early as 5am, I'm so glad that I registered my cell # with them and not my home #, they would be waking my young ones up (and they get up freakishly early to begin with!!) with their b.s. and thoroughly piss my wife off.

Good way to really irrate you customers.  Just keep calling and calling and calling, but whatever you do, don't leave a message - just call back try to wait until I'm meeting with my boss or client or driving.  Do you really want me to answer your survey now?
