They are telemarkers from the Yellow Pages.

Complaining to the CRTC won't do any good. They'll just tell you to file your complaint with the DNC (Do Not Call) list.

And we all know what good that does... friggin' nothing.

I don't think this is the real Yellow Pages.  I think it the one that they talked about on TV.  It is most likely a scam and not worth your time.  Do not answer on your phone if you are on your cell for it will cost.

Called and reported this to the yellow pages. They seemed surprised. I pointed them to google and how many posts there are about this number calling people non stop. Hopefully they will put a stop to it.
I would suggest everyone call yellow pages as well, Call them as many times as they call us, maybe then they will fix it!

I called them, and they confirmed that this IS a Yellow pages line, it must be a glitch

It is quite insane. Routinely this number calls my business, doesn't identify themselves and they hang up.
Shouldn't this be illegal? It's harassment!

I receive several calls from this number on a daily basis. I have called the number back and have asked to be removed form their list, but to no avail. I will be making a formal complaint with the CRTC.

They call everyday at my business.  I finally picked up and after a 10 second delay before someone said hello, they identified themselves as calling from the Yellow Pages and wanted to set up an appointment for someone to come by the business.  I said I wasn't interested, they hung up.

Please stop calling for no reason, or answer when we speak.

me too, my home and my cell several times a day- there should be a way to track them down, that is harassment

877-420-1998 keeps calling me every single day, Monday to Friday....  This is very annoying !!!!!

The douche-bags called me too.  On my cell phone too.

As I don't have call blocking, I've saved the number to my phone, put the name to "Don't Answer" and set the ringer ID to 'Silent'.  

Maybe it won't stop them from phoning, but it doesn't bother me nearly as much now.

I have also been getting about 3 calls a day from 877-420-1998.  They don't answer and eventually hang up.

I have just answered the 9th call from this number today! How can I block it? There is noone on the other end. Just silence. I work in a lawyer's office and it is wasting valuable time!!!!

I have been covering my parents apartment rental business for a few days and they call here a lot and everytime I pick the phone up to give them a piece of my mind and to tell them to stop calling, nobody is on the other end and after a few moments, the phoneline hangs up on itself and I start hearing the dial tone again.  I am seiously going to have that number blocked in the near future and probably report it to phone busters.

This number is for ads on Yellow Pages

I read over the notes here and have dealt with Yellow Pages for my business, but normally their number comes up showing Yellow Pages (or something along that line). If this is some other company trying to sell me stuff on their behalf, it's news to me. Someone from this number called yesterday and didn't bother leaving a message, which often means a Telemarketer (especially when they block the company name).

1-877-420-1998 CALLS MY HOUSE SEVERAL TIMES EACH DAY FOR THE LAST MONTH AND NEVER LEAVES ANY MESSAGES. IT'S ON MY CALLER ID SO WHEN I GET HOME I SEE IT LISTED WITH NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS AND I CALL THE NUMBER BACK. IT'S  ASKS ABOUT A YELLOW PAGE AD TO BEGIN WITH, BUT TO CONTINUE IN ENGLISH PRESS 9, SO I DID AND THEN IT SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT BELL CANADA AND STATES THAT IF IT IS ABOUT A BILL TO CALL A DIFFERENT # AND GIVES IT.  I JUST HUNG UP?!
