Two calls over three days. Hung up when they got the answering machine both times.

Calls all the time - I never answer but no message is ever left.

This is a legitimate organization.  My cousin was one of their missionaries for 2 years.  He left the organization to go to seminary, so now they call all the time to see if we still want to support them financially.

I think this is legitimate.  I get fundraising mail from them all the time.  You wouldn?t see this reported on the news because they are in those countries at very great peril to them (Christians in a Muslim country) and so do not advertise the fact that they are there.  Also, I am sure there are others still in those countries whose identity needs to be protected.

The person calling from this number said they were representing Campus Crusade for Christ, needing donations for 40 of their volunteer workers who had been captured in a Muslim country and convicted of preaching against the national religion.  They needed $200,000 to support the families who have been left behind.. children separated from their parents, etc.  The woman said they couldn't release a lot of the details.  I thought it was all crap.  Beware of this.  40 American Evangelical Christians are taken hostage in a Muslim country, tried and convicted and there's not one word on the news?

My phone rang at 8:15 pm EST in Charleston, WV. I didn't answer and it rolled over to my voice machine. I dailed *69 to find out who called. Info said 877-423-1966.

I do not know or have contact with anyone or any business with area code 877.
