Caller hung up without leaving a message. Caller was the Black Hills Corp. who recently acquired assets from Aquila, a natural gas supplier to my area. I called the number back and got a recording saying if I wanted to have my number removed from their calling list to press "1" when prompted. I then was asked to give my complete phone number and they said my number would be removed within 24 hrs. (We'll see)

this sucks using my minutes for this crap

Its Black Hills Energy trying to sell their service guard program. You can select to be delted off of their phone list supposibly. Tried it, but we shall see if they call back again!

877-427-0921. I called this number back, and it came to Blaqk Hills a company that has bought out the electric company in Colorado. You are able to press 1 and it will take you off there call system.
Tired of it 2011-01-04 23:16:45 Unknown
Just looked the number up and found this site. Called, pushed 1 left my ph.#--- Now if they call again, I'll be making some phone calls to them. Just because I BUY Nat. Gas, that doesn't give them the right to call me when I'm on a No Call Register. Does that mean all the stores I shop at, gas stations, restaurants, ect. have the right to call? NO it doesn't.

I spoke to customer service at Black Hills, and they apologized for the inconvenience. That was last week. Today, I received yet ANOTHER call from this number about service guard. I was able to leave a voicemail message this time, asking to be removed from the list, but this is harassment.

I'm still getting calls from this number. I too ended up at a voice mailbox for public radio, like other posters. Now, when I press 1, I go to "CustomerLink," with the same crap: if you try to leave a message, that mailbox is full. If you stay on the line, you'll go through the whole routine again. I looked up CustomerLink, and it's an "automated" marketing company. It's still about the Black Hills service guard thing. I'm going to leave a note on the Black Hills site to complain directly. It's ridiculous, using this kind of service. Asshats.
Weird 2010-11-09 00:27:55 Unknown
The above just happened to me! What morons! They forwarded their own service to someone else's number. I was so confused before I read the post from Frowning Frau because I work for public radio, so weird.
FrowningFrau 2010-11-06 01:03:31 Unknown
I received a call from this number. When I called back (Black Hills service guard, as previously mentioned), the message stated that I could be removed from their list to call if I pressed 1. When I pressed 1, that message said it was the mailbox of Minnesota Public Radio, and that the mailbox was too full to leave a message. If you press 2 to "speak to representative," this also goes to a full mailbox for Minnesota Public Radio. Way to go, BH! You annoy so many with so little effort. (And should be fined for this nonsense.)

I have Black Hills Energy and I have been called by this number numerous times. It's pretty bad service if you ask me. They charged me $25 to "set up" the service, when all that was needed to be done was come read the meter for the first time. AND there's a $16 customer fee every month. Ridiculous when the only gas charge is less than $8. I hate this company a lot.. Just too bad they're the only source for gas in my town...

Yeah, it's still Black Hills trying to sell a service plan. Off the street employees with no industry certifications nor any connection to manufacturers aren't coming within a mile of my overpriced appliances. Any appliance worth owning came with warranties and and a certain amount of service plan. Any lesser appliances can be replaced after 5-7 years (today's typical appliance maximum life span anyway) cheaper than that many years worth of service plan would cost. Don't ya just love the above planted comment of "I have this plan, it is a great no nonsense repair service, that you pay a monthly fee and they will repair all appliances in your home for no charge. Great service." Oh, Really? A monthly fee that they hope you forget you have and do not ever use does NOT equal no charge. Not to mention, someone who already has the service plan wouldn't be getting the solicitation calls and be looking up this number to see who it is.
Susan 2009-12-23 21:45:17 Unknown
Too funny that they are calling me for this service. We own an appliance repair business! :) We'll see if they remove my number since I've called and asked for it to be removed.

ya - I am so happy to be 80 percent deaf - hearing aid does not hear the ringtone on cell phone and the rest of the time the 8 year old cell phone don't ring - so when I see a number I look in the phone book to see where it came from - if I know anybody there I check numbers and if they are not that person I don't do anything - very little scandelous activity on my phone -- I think when they are computer calling and you answer your number goes onto an active phone list - so if you don't answer it - there is no record that it is an active number -- all these new phones with so much to offer - lost on the deaf - all we really want is a loud ringer and loud speaker - and no one has really tapped into this yet - maybe jitter bug will wake up and amp up their retired peoples phone - glad this was here so I could know who I am ignoring - thanks

yes this was very helpful report. They Called because of their cancellation of many patrons
when they changed over, from Aquila to Blackhills they lost people in their
service guard plan, I have this plan, it is a great no nonsense repair service, that you pay a monthly fee and they will repair all appliances in your home for no charge. Great service.

I went to Black Hills Energy website and sent a message telling them to not contact me. Maybe that will work.
Gwardy 2009-09-01 21:59:06 Unknown
Black Hills, have left a message a few times asking to be removed with my number, so far they have not removed. If they call one more time I will be calling their headquarters and telling them what I think.

Call was from Black Hills Corp. who recently acquired Aquila's natural gas service. They hung up without leaving a message. The call concerned their Service Guard program. To be taken off of their calling list they say to call their number and press "1" when prompted by the recording. After pressing "1" they will ask you to give your complete phone number and it will be removed within 24 hrs. Don't know if they actually remove your number or not. Will wait and see if they call me in the future.
Uncle Leo 2008-12-19 23:15:27 Unknown
I called the number as suggested and pressed 1 but the message came back that the mailbox was full. I heard that!
pooter 2008-12-03 00:47:36 Unknown
Black hills calling about service guard. Call back and "press 1" when they ask you if you want to be removed from the call list, it takes you to an automated mailbox service which asks for your complete phone number. The recording says your number will be removed from their calling list in 24hrs.
Enid 2008-11-20 18:44:34 Unknown
Yes, Black Hills, formerly Aquila. If you do "press 1" when they ask you if you want to be removed from the call list, it takes you to an automated mailbox service -- that, ironically, does not recognize the number you just pressed. Don't know if your phone number is actually removed or not then because there is no acknowledgment.
spark 2008-11-12 19:48:12 Unknown
thanks...this is exactly who called me ...Black Hills. not sure what they are trying to sell.
Matt 2008-08-20 19:53:02 Unknown
This is a number from Black Hills Corporation who recently bought Aquila. It is in regards to a mailing sent out about serviceguard and since we are current customers of Aquila, this gives them the right to call us, bypassing the DNC registry. Anyway.....call the number, press 1 to be removed

Called my cell phone and I never give it out but to freinds/family. Did verizon give them my number or maybe they misdialed me. Anyways no message left haven't got another call and its been about 2 days now.
TuxRug 2008-08-07 19:53:28 Unknown
Called looking for my father who does not live here anymore, called back twice anyway. Also called looking for my uncle who never lived here. I believe this number got my father's information from the Republican National Committee, due to a mispronunciation of his name, which matches a misspelling only the RNC has used.
