I got a text message stating that First Class American Credit Union with Sprint Pcs has placed a limit on my debit card, requested I call back at 786-456-3040. I called and they wanted my ss# and checking acct #.

The State Dept has deactivated just about everyone's debit cards...We have Nextel as well, and it seems most of these complaints are Nextel or Sprint users. This is yet a new phone number to call 702-732-2775 so the 877-427-2250 might have been shut down. I sent a email to the FCC at fccinfo@fcc.gov - don't know if it'll do any good or not.

I have called nextel regarding this. I had the option of having text messaging turned off but we use it. So they blocked the person sending the message. This doesn't help as they have different addresses not just from nextel. All our company phones getting these messages. Told by nextel that on the phone that I don't carry unlimited texting... we would have to pay for these messages.
They will try to get it stopped but whoever this is has managed to work around their spam blocker.
Good luck with this.

Schdan 2011-06-06 21:04:24 Unknown
received several text messages and I want it to stop.
John 2011-06-06 21:04:24 Unknown
Its weird everybody that is getting them is on nextel... I just got one too. I submitted several fake card numbers and it keeps telling me that it's not correct. I am guessing that they do that and save the numbers that people type in. We should all overwhlem them with fake numbers so they have a bunch of worthless numbers...
Lynnette 2011-06-06 21:04:24 Unknown
We are getting them on our company nextels also. Who or what is it? Does anybody know? I tried calling from a landline and it was busy
Nancy 2011-06-06 21:04:24 Unknown
Keeps calling, saying it's State Dept Federal Credit Union, and that they have canceled a debit card I don't own.
Max 2011-06-06 21:04:24 Unknown

1. Log on to Sprint.com
2. Click on my online tools
3. Click on block text messages
4. Place check in block messages from all senders in my block list
5. Add email address or phone number (i.e. sprint.messaging.com – This would block all messages to the phone that come from the address “@sprint.messaging.com”)
6. Save changes – add to list as unwanted text messages come

"First Class American CreditUnion has deactivated your debitcard. To reactivate call: 8774272250"
That's the exact message I got. It IS a scam, do not give out any info or even text or call back.
Marianne 2011-06-06 21:04:24 Unknown
Credit union calling to say debit card cancelled. These are thieves trying to get to your cash. Do not respond.

1-877-427-2250 is a fraudulent phone number. They have been texting me the past 2 days saying that my bank has deactivated my debit card. When I called the bank to make them aware this was happening and they confirmed what I already knew. Your Bank will NEVER send you a text message about anything. If you get one of these messages always call the main bank number to confirm they are the ones trying to contact you and not the criminals that are trying to rip you off.
Caller IDs: Multiple have been used. 1. vfoyie@att.net
2. sjcjpx@messaging.nextel.com 3. crhpbd@messaging.nextel.com
