I just realized I've been billed for a few months, wondering why our phone bill was so high. The charges were buried in the bill too as 1 line item. No one ever authorized these charges. At least the 3rd party billing put a block on it, so we won't be billed anymore. I also called our phone company and asked them to block it too.

Yes, Please check your phone bill. I was reviewing my bill for other reasons and came across this charge and realized we had already been billed twice! I don't even remember receiving the initial "free trial" call. These people are very astute!

I kept hanging up on them and then started to tell them our phone number changed.  I thought I was getting cute when I told them the newly authorized person was Joe Biden the Vice President of our company and that we moved to "1600 Pennsylvania Ave in DC".  They never catch on.

I have learned my lesson - I checked on line and found several links and called them tonight.  They claim that they got an authorization and someone will call back to to play the recording.  They did cancel the account and will credit back two months.

I never authorized them to charge anything.  They do the 14-30 day free trial for this website, but never tell you anything about it.  It then reverts to a fee based charge per month.  An earlier poster said they didn't give any credit card info.  They don't need that because they bill it to your phone number on file.  It got buried as 2 lines in our 14 page bill.

So how much does the phone provider get for this 'billing service' ?

I remember a phone call like this and said I was not interested and didn't wan't any free trial offer.  A few weeks later there was a charge on my telephone bill from Business Connect Amer $34 and change.  I called the reference phone number and they gave me the 877-427-5700 number.  Same deal, very polite customer service, put on hold for two minutes with obnoxious music and finally they issued a credit with a confirmation number.  Guess I'll wait to see my next bill.  We should all just hang up when people call our businesses and ask us questions!  Politeness no longer works!

Opened our Frontier telepone bill for our church and discovered $69.90 in charges to a company called Payment One @ 888-934-7750.  Called this number and a recording said they represent 500 providers of various services, none of which we have ordered.  The recording tried to forward the call to another Business called BusinessConnectAmerica Web Service @ 877-427-5700 and then disconnected as it was paast business hours.  We did not order anything from either company and I intend to file complaints with the Illinois Attorney General and the FTC for fraudulent billing practices.

Just got a call like the ones described above.  Glad I decided to google the number!  I had the same thing.  A lady talked to me first, then transferred me to her supervisor, Marcus, who talks very quickly and with a very heavy Indian accent.  I could barely understand him.  That's the point when I should of hung up the phone........but alas, I'm too nice.

I am now on hold with the number (I called it back).  Have been for several minutes.  Hope to get it resolved.

Gentleman with a thick Indian accent (and might I add, Indian music in the background) spoke very quickly and tried to skim over the fact that it's a TRIAL ISSUE. Luckily I googled the #877 number and found this. Told him we (he called a business) that we are not interested, will never be interested and to please not send us any info on how to cancel "in case we're not interested" because we're not interested now. Told him to put us on their DNC list and that we expect to see no bills coming from them in the future. He got upset and said, "So you've wasted my time. And you've wasted your time?", I replied with, "No, sir, you called me, I'm sorry you've wasted your time but have a great day." I really, really hope we get no bills coming our way. Will be calling the 877 number to make sure nothing was submitted or processed.

THank you JP for putting this online.  I had the EXACT same experience...I even hung up on them twice, but they called right back.  So,  I wrote down the 877-427-5700 and googled it, which lead me to your info.  I did the same thing you did and got a confirmation number which got me out of the 14 day "free" trial period website, which DOES become a billable item after 14 days of being activated.  Your info helped us avoid the whole thing.  Thank you!!

Got a call from someone with a very thick Indian accent about a free listing on internetyellowpages.com.  I could barely understand him. I told him we didn't want to be listed (in case it was a scam) and he said the listing was already there and once a year they call to make sure mailing information is correct.  I confirmed, then suddenly another woman picked up the line and repeated everything.  Again, I could barely understand a word she was saying due to her heavy Indian accent and how fast she was talking.  I did get a customer service number of 877-427-5700 so I called them.  They spoke English, at least.  After holding for the next representative for about 3 minutes, someone answered and asked for my billing telephone number.  Then she put me on hold for another 2 minutes while she looked up our account information.  The first call was to sell a 5-page web profile with a 14 day free trial.  No information as to how much that would cost.  The customer service rep created a ticket to make sure I was not billed and gave me a confirmation number.  Should be okay since I didn't give any payment information (credit card #, etc).

Possible scam from someone who sounded Indian.  Hopefully this won't turn into anything troublesome.
