called asking for a former friend on my cell phone
MJM 2013-03-20 20:49:15 Telemarketer
This is a company offering options for obtaining funds to complete your college edu. It most likely originated from a Face Book app. or another site where you posted your correct Tel#. Never place your personal Tel # on line for anything. I was checking on line for scholarships for my grandkids and made the mistake of sending my real # out to the Colleges I had contacted. I had forgotten my own rule on providing personal contact info. Anytime you make inquiries on the internet or purchase anything and your home number is required, give them different local tel # within your area code instead. I suggest using local branch tel # of a big National Bank or Brokerage firm, (Not their 800#). They sell our info for pennies to support their balance sheet. No company on line that you contact would ever need your Tel#. if you left them your e-mail contact If you purchase from them they already have your e-mail to contact you of changes. They can either ship your order or stick it where the Sun don?t shine if they do not want your business. I suggest your open a online e-mail address for free to use when ever a internet location or company ask for a e-mail contact This will cut down the spam as they also sell e-mail contacts Just check it weekly to clean it out.
Posting Misleading Contact info on the Internet is not a crime, It?s a precaution

They call me at least every other day. I haven't picked up once since I have no idea who they are. It's super annoying and I wish they'd stop.

No, this is MBA.com's fault: you probably asked for GMAT information recently. They sell your name, address, email, and phone numbers to every telemarketer and spammer willing to give them $$. The Do Not Call list does not apply; these telemarketers are ALLOWED TO CALL YOU because you have established a business relationship by requesting the GMAT or MBA information.
DO NOT REGISTER WITH MBA.COM or request GMAT information - you will be sorry.

WARNING: Do not register with MBA.com "The Official Site of the GMAT". The GMAT azzholes sold my name, email, and phone numbers to every college in the U.S. as well as every education telemarketer and email spammer they could possibly find. I am inundated with calls and emails constantly now. MBA.com is a Very Very BAD place to register for Master's test/program info. You are nothing to them except a file and a source of revenue.

Won't stop calling me, along with not leaving a message. I want this call to stop for good!

This is an attempt to get more of your personal information.
GMAT 2013-02-25 23:15:21 Unknown
I requested information from GMAT. Now I am getting calls and emails constantly about my college options, education financing, and test prep schools (Kaplan etc).
I know better than to ask for information even from the most prestigious institutions; they all sell your information. Usually I don't give them my "primary" email or numbers, but I guess I let this one slip.
Fortunately I can block the senders completely with my new phone. I could not do it with the old one.

They called me during class actually lol. Ironic, apparently they're from an organization that collects phone information that you write down on things like standardized testing in relation to colleges and what not. They call you then want to verify your information. I told her to take me off the no call list and she said, "Ok, let me take you off now, bye" and hung up. They have YOUR INFORMATION because YOU provided it to them, Don't worry, they just pay testing companies for student data.

This is strange. I also got that call recently. My phone answered it as I pulled the phone out of my pocket but one of us hung up before I could speak into it...

I just got a call from this number. I politely told them that I would not like to take the survey. The lady on the other end thanked me for my time and hung up.

They told me they were my college options and I filled a survey out during High School and since they knew my information I assumed I did. Doesn't really matter to me but they said they would send my information to a college that was looking at my profile so not sure what that means but I just talked with them for a bit then said bye when everything was done. The one thing that worried me was they didn't have my email so I'm just hoping I don't get junk mail because of that.

They have called me during work and I couldn't figure out who it was. I looked up the number and found you guys and all the information about it. Thanks. I didn't wanna call them back and I now know to definitely not answer when they call. They never leave a message and always call me between 12 and 5. Thanks everyone.
Christy 2012-08-16 21:06:33 Telemarketer
I found it ironic that when I called back, they said their offices were closed, and yet the time was within the office hours stated on the message.

unsolicited call
QM46 2012-07-24 21:16:39 Telemarketer
Wonder if they are looking for people's numbers to sell and seeing if they are legitimate. I usually don't answer or say I'll call back later but I don't if I find out they are not legitimate. I don't need college options - I'm old.

Unknown girl 2012-06-05 18:40:06 Unknown
They just called me so I searched it. They hung up when I answered. Cowards.
Maxine 2012-06-05 18:37:27 Unknown
They hung up when I answered.
Spam Fighter 2012-05-23 17:58:09 Unknown
Any company that does not provide their name is basically SPAM. This company called twice. The 2nd time I answered, saying "Hul-lo?" No answer was given back, and then they hung up. That is SPAM. If a company is too cowardly to include their name, are they worth YOUR time? I don't think so.
Bubba 2012-04-18 20:32:17 Unknown
Apparently the "Do Not Call Registry" does not work.
UGH!!!
I've got online & posted my number several times.
GET SOOOOOOOO PISSED OFF!
I constantly get phone calls from numbers I don't know.
They don't leave a message!
big shaft shaloov 2012-04-12 17:52:05 Unknown
it's a call center that thinks you have nothing better to do than pick up the phone and hear dead air till they pick up 20 seconds or so later.
John 2012-03-16 00:19:52 Unknown
I'm getting calls too. wth
