Called them. They said they are a filing company for companies including Fifth Third Bank and work DIRECTLY with them. Which I uses to have an account with). I called the bank headquarters and they have NEVER heard of AMG associates!!! It is 100% a scam. Trust me!! The bank and and actual recovering agency has never heard of them. I knew it was bad when I asked for them to mail me a validation of debt and I would send a check or money order in full and they responded by getting a prepaid card from Walmart!! Screw off buddy!!

Called mine and my husbands phone for sister-in-law. Said they were serving her a sealed court order today between 2-4pm. (Dec 31st) Gave a number for her to call and a reference number. I called the place and someone answered the phone but did not say the company name only Lisa Mitchell. I told her this was an ex sister-in-law and she said she would remove my number.
I asked the name of the company in case they call again and she said she is notating the account to not call me and have a happy new year "click". Yes she hung up on me and would not give a company name.
I see it says this is a payday lending collection agency above so I let my sister in law know that and she said that she has never used one of those. We pulled her credit report and found nothing.
They have not called her at all and her current number was on her credit report also. Which she has had this number a few years.
This sounds fishy and I also kept the voicemails for her.

My sister received a message from this number telling her they were trying to get a hold of me and gave her a document number.  I called and when I asked for the companies name and address the lady,(Lisa Mitchel)  got VERY upset with me and argued that I didn't need to know these things.  She said that had nothing to do with my "debt"  I continued to ask her questions and she got so mad and started yelling at me an then hung up on me!  So I called my lawyer and she told me to call back and what to say and I did.  I talked to a supervisor Mike Bertoni and he gave me all the info I asked for.  AMG, 7170 Transit Road, NY 14221.  After I told him I was filing bankruptcy and my lawyer would send him the paper he said, " You dont need to send any papers, I will put down that you are a bankruptcy and the file will be closed"  Now wouldn't most  legit companies need the bankruptcy papers?  Sounds vewry fishy to me!

Just received a voicemail asking for a relative of mine.  I called to ask how they got my number and the woman was rude and wanted me to give her my number.  I told her that she should have the number if she was the one that called me.  She got mad and said fine, if you don't want to give me your number to have it taken off, they will keep calling you and she hung up.

If there is a claim that needs to be served......come with it!  Don't call me about someone else's problems!

Will look into reporting this number to proper authorities.

And just why did you decide to search on this phone number and come here to leave your glowing report?  Could it be you are nothing but a shill for the collection agency?  If not, post the legal name, address and phone number for this company from the letterhead of your paid in full letter.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

?is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
?refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
?asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
?exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

?Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.?Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
?Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
?Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
?Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

i just received a call from an unknown number and an Alysha Warner left a message stating she was from Nationwids Carrier Services and to take the message as a warrant per Tarrant County Courts. They would find me where ever I am and serve me papers and I would need my supervisor or manager present upon deliver of paperwork. She then leaves me a number to call 1-877-433-2953 and when I called it went straight to voicemail. The number is to AMG Services.... Confused.

It's a legit collection agency. They just have rude employees. They say I owe Ace. It's an online payday place. How I know it's legit they called my brother cell phone lookingfor me. Even though I didn't do this I will pay. Then I'm getting a lawyer to investigate them.

Go away, you pathetic Shill! We're on to you scum-bags here.
I'll make it simple here. DEMAND a notice of validation be sent to you via the mail. NOT e-mail or fax. When the cretin on the other end of the phone starts blustering & making threats....case closed. He (or she) is a FRAUD!

I got a call from this number on my cell phone and call it back, it was a collection call from a mediator for an alicia silvia (not me).  the man on the phone would give me no detail on his company or how he got my number, i told him i was worried about ID theft and he got really mad and would not give me any information about why he was calling what company he worked for or how he got my number, this is an fcc viloation as the auto dialer gives no way to opt out when the call through and when you call back they will not give you any info or let you get on a DNC.

Also got called from a blocked number. After listening to the message they left with them butchering my name and the county in which I lived I decided to block my number and call them back. Called this number back and the company name is American. When I spoke to someone they would not give a specific answer as to what their company did other than we handle breach of contract cases for financial institutions. Although I was able to fluster the man on the phone and start to get him upset by my questions I was unable to determine what exactly they do as a company.
