Same with me this Nathan Davenport guy insisted I pawn something as well as asking family and friends. Shortly  after i paid $500 to this guy by phone my sister received a call from him . said if it wasn't paid an e-warrant would be issued. This alleged debt happened over 6 years ago for me and longer for her. But I'm a single parent and never been to jail and cant afford to. So had to take my chances and pay although i couldnt afford to but he wasnt  taking anything less than the $500. No payment plan or nothing it was pay it by noon or have an e-warrant. Theres no doubt in my  that its a scam because when my sister received the call after i made a payment I called with all these questions and they were very unprofessional and told me to stop harassing him. What cop would say some s*** like that? I was only asking reasonable questions and he started yelling at me said stop harassing him and hung up on me. So then i called back and gave him a piece of my mind and filed a police report. Come to find out police said the banks in my location has received a lot of complaints on this guy and there was no such thing as an e warrant. Just my luck. Good luck guys.

I got a call from HPC(877-442-1601) yesterday for a debt in 2008 for $1139.00, at first they wouldnt tell me how much it was for, give me a case number or even tell me what the processing procedure was. They were really s****y talking, I told him he was being a smart aleich and he said I was being the smart mouth and if I continued he was going to process the case. I asked him if he was threating me and he said it was the truth, lol, the guys are Ray Buchanan and Bill Jones. So all you have to do is call the attorney generals office????? Whats some of your input

(possibly) Your sister used you as a reference to get a small loan. Your sister didnt pay them back. They are calling you because they cant reach your sister.........  Ask your sister if she did this?

These people are from a cash lending place. Your friend or relative is required to list a reference person when applying for a small loan. They used YOU as a reference. The phone call is a tactic to get YOU to call your friend or relative indicating to contact HPC. In short, your name was used as a reference for a small loan. Tell your friend or family member to not use YOU as a reference for a loan...........Because they will hassle you if they can't contact the person who applied for the loan..

I RECIEVED A FROM CALL FROM THIS HPC COMPANY TODAY. THEY SAID THEY WERE ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT A DEBT FROM A PAYDAY LOAN. THEY THREATENED TO HAVE ME ARRESTED. THEY WANTED ME TO GO TO WALMART AND SEND $253.00 TODAY. THEY WERE VERY RUDE AND THREATENING.

I got a phone call from this number today. The said that I owe a payday loan from 2006 to Advance. I spoke to a Miss Nickleberry. I was also told that I would be arrested. They wanted me to go to Walmart and send $253.00.

Whom ever this is at 877-442-1601 ext. 153 called MY HOUSE today looking for my SISTER.
Please can someone find out who these people are and report, report and report them.  My sister does not live with me and I don't know how they got my number for her. Our last name's are not the same at all. When I asked what this was about he said he had complaints against my sister but do to the law's he can not tell me anything else.  WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?????????

Wynn, I am familiar with what you are talking about. I received a call from "HBC" today as well and she told me her name was Celeste and was not willing to accept any kind of offer. The call was in reference to an old payday loan. So I decided to call the payday loan company and I actually set up arrangements to make bi-weekly payments to the payday loan company. They were a whole lot nicer and easier to deal with. The nice lady (payday company) gave me her name and noted in the system what we arranged. She also assured me that she would call "HBC" and let them know that we have arrangements so that I am not harrassed!  By the way, she ended by saying "have a nice day" instead of what Celeste from HBC said to me "Good Luck"!!!!!!!  Call the company directly and they will help you, Do Not Give HBC any Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are not allow by law to call your place of employment. That is consider harassment. And they are only allow to notifed blood relatives not friends etc. They called my ex's wife. I went off on them for 20 min. They always make it souds like if your don't pay you will mbe in court. And they have to take payments. I am doing it by mail they are not getting my debit card.

A man named "Simms" just called me today regarding a loan from Allied Payday loans that I took out back in November. I have been gone from work for 3 months and have been unable to pay on my loan and like any other business, since they were not able to collect they sent my "file" to HPand Associates. Well they called me today at work and said that I have to pay it now because tomorrow they will be sending the paperwork out for "fruad". How is not paying back a debt fraud? I mean during the peak of the worst recession we are currently having, MOST people are unable to pay their bills. Well guess what "SIMMS" If I have to go to court to get a judgement placed against me so be it... Im not paying the likes of HP and Associates a dime... Dont pay them anything... If the business you owe money to wants it bad enough then you will be served court papers..not threatening and intimidating phone calls....

And further more, with facebook and all the other social networking sites, of COURSE they know your friends' names. C'mon america, let's not be the stereotype....

These people are calling everywhere and their behavior (to me) is very threatening and harrassing.  Does anyone know if anything can be done to companies that prey on innocent victims??????????

One of my employees received a call from the same number and the person said their name was Bill Jones.  They spoke so fast and so garbled that you could not understand what they were saying.  I was able to decipher that they had "official documents" on their desk and they named a person that my employee knew but has no business dealings with.  I think it is either a scam or a collection agency using intimidation tactics to find out where the debtors are to file warrants in debt with the court.  I told my employee not to call or talk to them.

Someone called me and a friend of mine from this number today.  Does anyone know who this might be?

I had the same thing happened to me im glad we learned not to send any money to them they are stupid i Work For an Attorneys office and they still call us.

I got 2 phones calls from a Sandra Nickelberry stating that i owe $600 and i had to pay it by 4pm or further actions would be taken i told her i don't have the money, and also that i would never have the money to pay she told me i was stupid and that i was going to Jail, i said ok bring it. I work for an Attorneys office anyways and i know my rights. She hung up i called back to speak to her Supervisor and he asked me if i had the money to pay it by 4pm I said Hell no and don't call me again. HE pressed to call me names and what not and before he hung said i was going to Jail Sandra Nickelberrys Ext is 159, THIS IS A BIG SCAM MY ATTORNEY HAS INFORMED ME TO DONT SEND ANY MONEY TO THESE CRAZY RETARDED A** PEOPLE..

I rec'd a phone from 904-418-5000 a ms Wilcox she asked if I knew this person who did happened to me ny brother. She said she had a claim against him and needed to get his side of the situation because it looked like he had never been in trouble before. She gave the 877-442-1601 number extenion 111. She kept saying he was involved in an incident and needed to interview him. I said this does not make sense my brother never gets into trouble. I asked her if she was from an attorneys office she said no. I told her this sounded wrong was she a bill collector and she said in no uncertian terms that she did not collect money from anyone. After reading about these phone numbers I called her back she did answer I told her that after reading about her company I would not be forwarding any messgae she hung up before I finished my sentence. nShe said the companys name was HP and Associates, The phone company says H&P capital, INC

Got a call from John Johnson 877-442-1601 Ext 131..  These people are scammers...  They only want your money... Don't give them any information...  Don't even call them back...  Just let them call and leave mesages...  They will stop when they see you are not paying them any attention... Or just tell them that your phone calls are recorded and the police are tracking all your phone calls...  Just gotta call them out... They will not bother you again...  They are always calling my phone... Ichanged my number and they now call my work number...

I got a call from someone named Amada at HPC.  The number that came across on my cell phone was (904) 418-5000.  I did not answer it since I did not know who the caller was.  Amanda left a message saying she needed a final statement from me and my side of the story before the matter left her desk.  (don't fall for this and don't call the 1-877 number they give you).  So I called the number back and dialed her extension (122).  Amanda wasn't in but the person on the other end said he was her supervisor.  He then told me I owed some payday loan company I had never heard of.  He told me I had committed internet and wire fraud.  He stated that they had sent me emails that I had opened but what I did with them after I opened them, he didn't know.  I told him I had never received emails from this payday loan company and that the payday loan company was lying to him.  He knew a lot of my personal information!  When I asked for a paper bill, he stated that obviously I felt I was above the law.  I told him no I didn't feel I was above the law and that all I wanted was a paper bill.  He told me the only way they would work with me is if I payed them over $600 that day.  I told him I didn't have that kind of money since I was on a one income house.  He stated I could go to friends or family to get the money.  I told him no I couldn't.  He then asked me if I was at home (giving me my home address) and I said yes.  He made it sound like the police were going to come pick me up at that very second.  Thank you everyone for your comments on here, this blog saved me alot of stress.  I then did some checking on the payday loan they say I borrowed money from and they don't have me on their files!  I also know from talking to a payday loan place in the past (because of this happening before) that a payday loan does not use scare tactics.  They would rather try to work with you with payments than to file charges or whatever these people are saying.  I am now going to record any future calls from these jerks and report it to my district attorney!

I just received a voicemail from this company indicating that I have an outstanding balance with a company in which I took out a loan using my checking account as collateral.   I called them back and was not able to speak to the person who initially contacted me.  After about 5 minutes of one man explaining to me that I either pay my debt or forfeit my rights I asked to speak to a manager because he was being very abrasive and not answering my questions.  Another man then came on the phone and again told me that my only option was to pay or not comply, which would then cause my file to be picked up and my ssn and drivers license number to be released.  What does this mean? He was very assertive and extremely rude.  As I asked questions, because I really wasn't understanding, he claimed that I was getting an attitude and all he is trying to do is help me.  He then gave me a reference number, said "good luck" and hung up. Please tell me this is a scam?!
