I was called by a guy who gave me this number as a call back number. He was rude and treated me like I was a child for asking questions about the health coverage he was trying to get me to buy. I asked for their website and if they had a coverage plan they could mail me to look over. He avoided the question and when I told him I was uncomfortable just discussing it over the phone, that I would like something physical to look at, he said it was not his job to make me comfortable and increased the bad attitude he already had with me. So I hung up.

A scam.
Look them up with the BBB and Consumer Reports, and ripoffreport.com
DO NOT give them any information. Give them a fake name, and if they start getting pushy, tell them you will have to consult with your lawyer. If they get rude, tell them you are going to report them to your State's department of Insurance, and the Federal Government. They won't bother you again.

I just had someone call from this company in response to an online inquiry I had made, which sends out leads to various insurance company.  Anyway, the plan offered me seemed too good to be true, but hoping it was true, I asked questions.  All of his answers were unverifable, ex. He said their website was "under construction"...(although they'd been in business since the 1930s.  I told him that I need to see something in writing in order to make a decision, but every questions I asked him was answered in a very evasive way.  Finally, I told him that if this is a scam, that he did not need to waste his time nor mine, as I would investigate it before making a decision, but said I hoped it was true.  In the end, I got no verifable information.  The info he gave me was:  something about "NBC Affordable health care", Consumer Health out of Las Vegas, NV (but he didn't know the address!!!!), Providerlocator.com Access Code: CHBA, His Phone # was 877-446-8700 x 107, Tom Michaelson, Health Benefit Plan.

BTW, from someone else's post, Beech Street IS legit.  It is a network of providers screener and negotiator.  I had them with another benefit plan I had several years ago.

Filled out einsurance request in October, then contacted by Evonne at 877-446-8700 x 120.  She identified company as "Consumer Health of Illinois", a nonprofit insurance company to help folks that are uninsured.  I said I was looking for health insurance for my son who would be graduating from college.  She said there would be no preexisting conditions, no deductible, no caps, and would cover medical, dental, vision, and presriptions.  She said 100% coverage up to $3000 for accident; 80% after $3000.  Coverage would be 80% for major medical; 65% for dental vision.  Coverage $10 for generics, $20 for name brands, $40 for non-formulary.  Monthly charge  of $129.95/mo would never increase and could never be cancelled.  Coverage within 24-48 hours of giving them bank/credit card information.

I asked for written information to review and she said that I could look at ppo.next website.

This seemed too good to be true, so I called the state of Ohio insureance office and they said that they are not liscensed in the state of ohio as an insurance company, so must be a discount plan.

I called the state of Illinois, and they are not registered there either.

I called the number back and it says "New Health" now.

After a lot of searching, I finally found this.  I can't believe that they are misleading so many people and representing themselves as a health insurance company when they are not.

I wish this information was easier for people to find.

Here are all the company names associated with this group:
PPO Next
Beech Street
New Health Choice
Health Star
Master Care
Medical Control
Consumer Health
Preferred Health Network
Health Care Evaluation

I plan to complain to the States of Illinois, Ohio, and to ehealthinsurance.

I wish this information popped up easier on my searches.

I recieved a call from this number(1877-446-8700 ext 102) ,a lady name ANNA MOCORMIC offered a health plan for my father at a very good price of $129.95,we were extremily happy to get a insurance at this low cost. after a long conversation she convinced us to pay a enrolment fee of $129.90 that makes total payment of $259.85. God saved us because i was not having enough money in my acount that particular time, so i requested her to schedule a payment on next day. in the mean time we check online about this phone number and came to know that it is nothing but a big scam. thanking everybody who posted in this review of this scam , i feel this as my duty to save my fellow citizens from the jaws of companies like this. Frankly speaking i wonder despite all these postings why administration is not taking a solid action against them.

Last week I received a phone call from "Eric" offering me individual health  insurance for just $129.59 a month which included $10 for generics, hospital, dental, vision, inpatient and outpatient coverage. Except elective procedures. He said that Consumer Health Inc. had an open enrollment once a year in NYS and that I should take advantage of the offer. I did a bit of research and found out that this company is a fraud. Since I did not phone Eric back I have this number: 877-278-9066 calling me four times a day at all different hours.

Please be careful with offers that sound "too good to be true" because 99% of the time, it is.

Got another call today from 1-877-446-8700 ext 116--I guess they "work" on labor day...this time from Richard from New Health Coice. I did not pick up. Friday I left "Christine" an unkind message after "Janita" called from her extention number. I suppose Cristine, Janita and Richard either don't know they continue to call the same number repeatedly on a daily and weekly basis, or this is precicly the nature of their marketing "plan".

The number 1-877-446-8700 has been calling my cell phone for a couple months now. I have only picked up once or twice and they identified themselves as I believe "Health one" or "One Health". I told them I did not need insurance and they hung up.

They continue to call. I receive several calls a week, sometimes multiple calls in a day. Sometimes they leave a voicemail that is simply them holding the phone and not speaking (the same kind of chatter can be heard in the backround every time--one time a caller was chewing and having a conversation with someone else, all being recorded by my voicemail, but didn't leave a message). Often they do leave a message with an extention number (latest extention from this week was #116 from rep named "Janita"). When I called back to tell them not to call me, calling "Janita's" extention number I was directed to an answering service that said "Christine" was away from her desk, and to please call back.

Janita identified herself as calling from "New Health", a different name than the one used in previous calls from the same number.

Janita could not get all the fabulous details "open enrollment" had to offer me out fast enough in her message, and this has gotten to the point of harassment, in my view. There is no way to communicate to them that they've already called several times a week for more than two months and that I am entirely uninterested in anything they have to "offer" me. How can you communicate anything to them anyway, since they hang up on you the second you say you don't need insurance or call back the next day with a new pitch as if it is the first time they have called. I have pre-paid cell and they are costing me money everytime they call. I'm not sure what action I will take at this point, I must do some research first, but I am certain I am fed up with these calls and wish to find the way to make them stop, even if it means changing my number which I don't want to do.

I filled out an online request for health insurance information, and have received incessant calls in the past two months since I completed the online form. 1-877-446-8700 has called me the past 2 weeks every 3-4 hours, asks to speak to me, and then hangs up. I cannot block the number on my phone and do not have an extension to call them back and tell them to remove me from their calling list as I no longer need health insurance. The company is borderline harassing me at this point in time- DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES BASED ON THEIR HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - and I'm not even a customer!

This company is calling me every day 2 or 3 times a day. When I pick up, all I get is a "dead air" and if I call the number, I get a company called "New Health" but unless you have an extension, you can't speak with a person. IT IS A SCAM!

I have reported them to the CRTC and filed a complaint so that they can be fined. https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/ I encourage everyone to file a complaint so that they can be put out of business.

I got 4 calls from them today!  all hung up when I got on the phone!  I suspect it was the same dude that called last week.  He was lying in his teeth about the company he represernts.  Basically its a discount company.  In other words they have a pre-arranged discounted price through providers that can't make money in this political climate in medicine?  Second rate crape form 3rd rate providers so that we can give them our money!  I hope Obama cracks their balls!

Received a call from 702/448-6456 (a Vegas number) from an agent, John Cardinal, claiming to be in Florida - from New Health Choice - he gave me when I asked the website www.NBCHealth.com - he gave me his return number of 877/446-8700 x. 106 - his offer and claims are similar to those above - I need health insurance - I've been seeking options - and what he was offering sounded amazing - I asked him, though, if he would send me an info packet - he claimed that today was the last day this would be available in California - he did offer the website info for me to review - I am now at my computer researching - THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING YOUR HORROR STORIES - I am so sorry for you all - but, I thank you for saving me - John has scheduled to call me back in a few hours - I was really wanting to sign up for this - sadly it is too good to be true - I don't get how people can take advantage of each other like this - such corrupt people - I am glad, though, to know that there are people like you all who are willing to share and help others - thank you!

Non-profit Organization
My mom is currently withhout health insurance and I have been assisting her with searching for a new plan on-line.  Today, she gets a call from "Greg Hall" at NEW HEALTH (a non-profit organization) about a plan that he emailed (to my account) last week, so my parents called me and asked me to look for the email.  I could not find it so called Mr. Hall at 1-877-446-8700 ext. 122 and left a message.  He promptly returned my call from a new number, 813-663-9408, where he explained to me that he could not re-send the email and could not tell me what address the email was sent from.....hum...sounds fishy huh?  So then he explains that they are a non-profit organization that offers health insurance for those who currently do not have any coverage and that for a start up fee of 129.95 and 129.95 a month, my mother would have a 80%/20% medical plan through the PPO NEXT network, Prescription plan of Generic-$10, Brand-$20 and special $40 though Atlantic Prescriptions network, Dental though Carrington and Vision through Eye Med.  Wow, what a deal!  But, she had to be enrolled today!  So, since I could not locate an email, I asked for the NEW HEALTH website... Mr. Hall kindly explained to me again, that they were a non profit organization and they they did not have a website, brochures, ect. But after the enrollment, my mother would receive all the booklets, card and other info about the plan and coverage.....  But remeber, you have to enroll my noon today!  Wow.....  I have enough common sense to smell a rat out, and explained my concerns to my mother, who already had the same idea.  Then I found this site to back up my impression!

Wow guys is all I have to say.  I actually went onto google.com and had been searching all day for affordable health coverage, then I made my search more advanced and typed in "affordable health insurance for low income couples" all kinds of stuff popped up.  I can't remember what the website actually looked like but I tried the first "customer service" number and it also said it had been disconnected so I called the number underneath of it and dialed ext. 122 and left a message.  About an hour later Greg Hall called me back.  He went on to say that I could have all this great health insurance and it was through a non-profit organization called New Health.  The medical coverage was through PPO Next, the dental was through Carrington Dental, and the vision was through eye-med.  He said that my rate would be $149.95 a mth. and there would be a one time enrollment fee of $ 129.90, so all together my total cost would be $279.85.  I was in shock.  I was so excited and I was like praising him up and down.  He then told me what everything included but said it so fast that I missed certain things,so me being the kind of person that I am I went back to the beginning quoting everything he said.  I had to hear this all over again.  He asked me for a CC payment or if I wanted to pay check by phone?  I told him I would absolutely love to do this today but my husband isn't here and I need to discuss it with him.  In all honesty he wasn't to pushy with me, and that's probably b/c I've never been w/o health insurance until recently and I have no idea what questions to even ask.  I am 24 yrs. old and my husband 26 yrs old, we are young and don't have much money so you can see how excited I was.  I finally got off the phone with him and called my mom.  THANK GOD I HAVE THE KIND OF MOTHER I DO.  She said Amber make sure you research these companies on the computer and check the BBC website.  I am so glad I listened to my mother for once in my life....LOL.  Seriously though I couldn't find anything on the BBB website, then I tried google.com and typed in non-profit organization New Health, and still nothing.  So than finally I remembered you can type in anyone's phone number and get information about them.  THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I DID AND BOY AM I GLAD THAT I DID.  Needless to say I consider myself a very lucky girl for not getting so sucked into this, and for having an extremely leary mother.  If there's one thing I've learned in life so far, "if it's to good to be true, it usually is!"  Well that's my story I know it's long but I hope it helps by the way the number I called was 877-446-8700 EXT. 122, and the number that Greg Hall called me from was 813-663-9408.  As I finished writing this email I actually dialed the 813 number back again and it rang and rang and it went to a general voicemail box.  Now if it was a ligite company it would say the name of the company and have 859045205843754 prompts before you were able to leave a message.  Thank you to all of you who started these postings I'm so glad I ran into this and read on before I made a huge mistake.

I got a call from Christie from New Health as I am looking for health insurance. She said a PPO with dental and vision would cost 129.95 per month with an initial payment of 259.90. I asked for the company website and she said only enrolled members could access it. I then asked her to send me an e-mail with the quote and more information about the company which she did not do. She said she could be reached at 877-446-8700 x116. I am so glad I found this site to avoid this scam. Who can I report these ripoff artists to?

Thank you all for your posts. I got the call from the 321 area code but was asked to call back a the 877-446-8700 number. It all sounded too good to be true and I've done research into the company and all of these posts assured me that my instincts were right. As desperate as we all are to believe that we could get such great cost as such a low rate, it is simply an illusion. Great cost comes at a great price, or at least not at such a low cost as the  people at this Benefits Consulting group can offer.

When I asked for information, the guy on the phone said he could not provide any as they are a non-profit org and sending info is soliciting. Incorrect, as I requested the information so it is not soliciting. Please be aware of this company.

I got call this morning at 9:35am about a helath care plan that sounded great. I'm in need of an individual plan. The caller wanted a credit card number so he could bill me $259.85 & then $129.95 a month but he could not give me a website for the company & said he could not mail me out a info packet 1st. He claimed that they were non-profit??? I informed him I wasn't buying a policy that I couldn't review & just go on his word. He left a call back number if I changed my mind & said he had to clear the line. Seems a little fishy to me!!!

Yes i just got scammed by someone named "christine"..wow she was SOO professional sounding it was unbelievable..and she sounded so legit!!
I and my husband are kind of desperate to have some health insurance so i fell for it.
Unfortunately i didnt google the phone # until today when i realized that this must be a scam since i never got a confirmation email that i was promised giving account information etc. once i joined.
This was just yesterday that i signed and today just called Bank of America to put a stop payment for the $259..they said they will help get the money back, the girl at the bank said the same thing happened to her and BOA was able to get her money back the same day, this has never happened to me..so I REALLY HOPE SO..as this is the WRONG time to be losing any kind of money at all because of things like this!! and people like this!
This world has gone to the dogs!

My story sounds like all yours..I filled out a form online and now they keep calling from all different numbers. Their website doesn't give you anything. Said they're non-profit, created for people with pre-existing conditions - WHATEVER! I don't ever trust high pressure "limited time" salesmen and I'm glad. I'm also thankful for your website and all the posted info! Gonna call "Dave" back now and give him a piece of my mind. Anyone know how to enforce the "take me off your list" thing with telemarketers? I'm in Indiana. I think maybe I'll report this company to the Dept of Insurance.
