My mother just was hit by this scam when I was eating lunch. I didn't catch it in time before she gave out her 3 digit code on the back. Got her to call Visa and block the card. Visa told her to NEVER give the 3 digit code on the back over the phone. Also was told TD Bank will NEVER call a customer over the phone. They will contact you via mail only or when you go to the bank in person.

Call back number she was given was 1-877-447-2607. This is NOT a TD Bank or Visa number.

This is a number to call back given by Patrick Corres and his associates (a woman and another guy). They said they are from TD VISA Head Office and they can get the interest rate to 4.9% for life... the catch, you have to pay for 795 C$... 800 plus US$. They have all your info and when they verify the info, don't say YES, YES, and YES because that's confirmation and they are recording all the conversation. Don't know what they can do with that because they're fraud/scammers. I called VISA# on the back of the card and verify if they did make the call and all major credit cards don't do this. Visa check my account right away and they saw a charge of 800 plus US$ and they reported this to Canada Fraud Center right away. Be care with this number everyone!

This # called me several times for the past 3 months and said it's from TD VISA Head Office and just want to confirm all the information(address, card #, amount of credit line, expiration date, secret # on the back of cc, SIN, mothers maiden name),  they have on me in order to lower the interest rate on my credit card. He told me his name is Patrick Corres (had an Indian/Pakistani accent) then a woman came on after that (probably his wife, same accent). I was distressed by this call but did not hang up.. STUPID ME...and just said yes, yes, yes....then after they hang up, I had this bad feeling about it. Called the number on my credit card right away to asked if they called me , they verified and there was no call made from them. They check on my credit card transaction right away and found out that there was a transaction of $800 right about that time from the cal I got. Now, I'm so so stressed out about the fact that they got all my information. Is there anything I can do?

Wish I knew.  I don't know how they cannot be traced and thrown in jail.  This is patently a scam.  Got one today and I did phone the number back and left a message for this Lewis Aweris person.  It is disgusting but what is really scary is that some people actually give their personal information out to strangers who cold call them.  A credit card firm will never, never, never phone you - ever!  So just know this is a total scam and if anyone is stupid enough to give them their personal information then they need their rocks examining!

Called me from this number - said his name was Lewis Aweris and he was calling from Visa/Mastercard.  That was my first clue this is a scam because Visa and Mastercard are two separate companies not related.  Offered me a low interest rate and I advised him to go away.  I am on the National Do Not Call Registry anyway but this is nothing but a huge scam and no one should ever, ever give out any personal information from a phone calls - ever!

Had a call from a Lewis Aweris said he was calling from Visa and Mastercard - well first clue is that these two companies are totally different entitles so that told me straight away this is a scam.  This man needs to educate himself a little better.  He said he was calling from Canada - probably calling from India though.  gave the number 877-447-2607.  This is totally a scam artist and all these postings that this is genuine is not true probably posted by those who work for him.  Wish the police could catch these low lives.

Hi,
Same here. Call from Calgary, caller I'd :  18774472607 from 'MasterCard' saying that I got this travel package reward blah blah... $695 for 4 people...
That I could call them back at 18774472607
9-5pm
Confirmation code: T1001

James Anderson
Verification manager: ? ( I forgot)

Then they call again to confirm my new address... Which they had wrong at the beginning...
Anyway.
Another call from
18186612009 He said he was calling from Calgary, the caller I'd says : Los Angeles, CA

I hope they all get arrested. How can someone have the nerve to lie like that on the phone! Wow. And give you confirmation numbers, and all sort of lies, incredible.

After that I have been getting some 'confirmation numbers' from Microsoft in a txt message, and on my voice mail from 17148680120, which I also browsed and found similar info to this site...

This company misrepresented themselves as lowering your interest rate; however, they don't mention that it is actually sending you another credit card and BILLING your current credit card $719.00 as a "one time fee". They take advantage of people and lie about the services. Can't wait to see these so called "new credit cards" in the mail. Little do they know that the FBI are now involved....and we have made a statement. Oh by the way, if you have insurance on your credit card, they won't get their money when you dispute the charge...dumb a***s...hahaha

If anyone was smart...getting a phone call from someone that can't even speak proper English would be a first sign of these scammers.

Oh yeah, and Louis Elveris is now Kim Elveris...

Someone has to do something about calls like this.  They said they were calling from Visa.  Thick south asian accent.  Indian?  From an unknown name and number.  They gave me this number when I asked.  He hung up (as politely as is possible) when I questioned too much that they were for real.

The other posts on here that are supporting the number are almost for sure fake.  This is a scam.

Call  received from person calling himself Neil Carl - suspiciously close to the Carle who previously responded herein in broken english that this is a legitimate business

Neil Carl claimed he was calling from Calgary Alberta and that he was born in Manitoba but if true, he is probably one of the few naturally born Manitobans with a Pakistani accent

- The guy has nerve and persistance - but he sounds like a crook to me

Call display said calling number was ONETEN.5027.000-012.3456

My wife reciieved a call from this # and they offered a lower rate on cc, she fell for it and gave them pertanent information, which I looked up the # and saw this page, we then cancelled all cc's and I did my investagation as they said the represented CS Financial, then Astrum Financial, a couple days later they called back and got me I asked for an Address and Patrick gave me Suite 503 5th floor, Marcos St. Toronto, Ontario, Canada L8A 3A0, well the postal code doesnt exist nor the street. I then tried the website I was given Astrumfinancial.com (which doesn't exist) then they called my wife and said it wasn't a scam and that if they wanted to clean her out they could! so I tried this site http://astrumfinancial.ca/index.php?option=co ... tpage&Itemid=53 and talked to a man named Laurie Smith and he said they offer a Financial Software package and that it was probalby his call center, after explaining to him the situation he said he would call it and return my call. Mr. Laurie Smith advised me of another website of his which is a week old Astrummoneymanager.com.....well that site doesn't exist what so ever.Beware as the CC companies told me that they are the only ones that can lower your rates.

call received 13Feb2013 at approximately 1:50pm in the afternoon to ask me if I would like the interest on my Visa cards to be decreased.  He is looking at my information now and know all about me.

He mentioned that he has a grade 9 education, is a billionaire, no reason to play pranks on people just wanted to help people to decrease the interest rates they are paying on their cards.

Makes me very uneasy.

Identified himself as:

I received a call from "Daniel Flloyd" he told me that he was calling about my Visa Mastercard account. Proceeded to offer me a lower interest  rate on my card quoted my current rate as 19 percent, which is incorrect, and that I would qualify for 5percent possibly less.   Then he proceeded to ask for the balance of my card... so I asked him which card he is referring to ?  He said oh we deal with all of them. So I said well how can you offer me a lower rate when you are not sure which card you can lower the rate on.  He said oh we deal with all of them.  Then I followed up by asking him if he can provide me with information about his institution to validate this to be a secure call? Explained that although he called me he had not given any information to me as of yet.   I asked for his number and he gave me this one.
