This is MetLife Insurance calling in response to a request for an insurance quote through their website.
It's hard to tell the scammers and criminals, from the nuisance telemarketing calls. They are ALL annoying, and we get so many bogus calls, that it seems WAY beyond OK. Am not sure why anyone answers the phone, when an unknown number calls through. Wish that everyone would stop answering the phone when such folks call through ... or do whatever they can to deter such folks from calling again. Am not quite sure either, why it is legal for us to received hundreds and hundreds of "survey" calls.
caller did not leave a message.
This number has called me 4 times in 5 hours since 9am today!!
Just stop calling me AGAIN!!
For providing the opt out link for CenturyLink's marketing page. We just switched to CenturyLink and they are starting to call us.
This is correct. I just called Mark Reynolds and he is contacting his local counterpart to have them contact me. These people just need to control themselves and stop calling.
It's Century Link.
Usually the silence means it's a robotic call. The next available salesman will pickup and answer. When you hear the silence, hang up.
I don't answer calls from callers I do not recognize.
These folks call from a variety of numbers and I have many of them blocked. One came through last evening, and around 7:00 am this morning (NOT cool). We don't have Qwest for a phone service ... and wouldn't bundle with them if we did. Thanks goodness for the ability to block! Quite annoying, cannot figure how that helps their bottom line.
could this be a scam, anyone could make a recording from the voice on century links answering devise and have it set up to go directly to the number that is calling? Just a thought! the scam artists are getting smarter all the time. I am getting a little sick of the phone ringing every few minutes. form this number as well as from others. I have called a few of the numbers back and have gotten a recording saying this number is not in service at this time. That's funny it just called me.
These b*****ds just called here at 06:33 this morning - Just my opinion, but that's seems so far over the line that it makes me wish I could reach through the phone and slap someone.
If you go to this link and check the appropriate boxes, CenturyLink will put you on their own internal DoNotCall list. This is their "opt out" process.
These people (whoever they are) have called me numerous times. They don't say a thing. This is harrassment.
This number has been calling up to three times a day. Usually there is nobody on the line but when I finally got to talk to somebody they were trying to sell me an upgraded package with Century Link. I called the company and got the run around and was told they could stop these calls with a one time fee of $5.00. They want to charge me to stop annoying me. I am looking for a new phone service.
Got my first call from this number today while I was at work. No message left. If I understand my telephone owner's manual correctly, the call blocking feature doesn't necessarily work on long distance calls or calls out of your area code. So using a call blocking feature wouldn't always be the solution. The only hard pat solution is not to answer the call in the first place. Get caller ID if you don't have it. If you never answer their calls then they don't know if it is a valid phone number or not. Dishonest telemarketers use the DNC list specifically to call people so you can't rely on that.
Number has called daily for months. I refuse to answer my home phone now. At every single answering machine tone they hang-up. I literally get a call from them every single day of the week.
Rules for handling these scam calls: 1. Don't answer. 2. Don't call back. 3. Don't complain about the number of times they call if you don't use your own (your service's) Block Caller list. 4. Get on your phone service's Blocked Caller list - if they don't have one, get one that does. 5. Don't think the government's Do Not Call list is going to handle it - they won't. 6. Google the number. 7. Add the number to your personal Block Caller list. 8. Get on with your life.
I have had it with these calls, I just am tired of it !!! They will not take no for an answer !!!
I got a call from this number and when i answered it, there was slience for a few seconds and then the line went dead.
Really annoying. They keep calling and the id is unknown. I Only answer when I know the number.
calls from this # but nobody responds when answered!!
This number is a marketing call center for Century Link (new name for Qwest) When you call the phone company and ask them to stop the calls increase. This is HARASSMENT.
Mad at centurylink!!!!
Called this number back today and they said they were Centurylink...my phone service. So, even though I am on the 1-800 no call list, my own phone service has been calling me three times a day and leaving no messages!!! Asked them to not do it and they said it will take 30 days to update their lists...but I can block any call that day if I call and ask. Evertone should cancel their service to centurylink!!!!
2012 MAY 1
Called. Adding to BLOCK since it's forwarded from Home # to my Google Voice #.
CenturyLink (previously named Qwest)...wants to do an "account review". In other words they want to sell you upgraded service. I called them and asked to have my number removed from the system...they said no problem. A few more of these and I'll cancel their service altogether...NIMRODS!
In one day, (4) calls spaced 2 hours apart, caller ID of "Out of Area," is a bit much. I refuse to answer, let it go to voice mail, but no message ever left. Who is generating these calls? It is more than annoying! Can some one disconnect that # on the grounds of harrassment, abusing the system, something.?!?
keep getting called from this number..I owe no one..........I just pick up the phone and hang up does't help to put them on the do not call list they still call. I blocked it on my phone but they still get thru.......
we've been getting one or two calls a day. Called; it was CenturyLink (Qwest). Asked to be removed from call list. She was nice and said it might take 30 days. Told her upfront not to try to sell me anything. She said they may have been calling for another reason. Since we got the no. in '83 they haven't called for any other reason.
Whatever this number is, they have called me: 2/18/12 10:31am, 12/21/12 11:43am, 2/24/12 10:35am, 2/29/12 9:52am and 2:16pm today. You'd think they would give up.
