I recieved a phone call from 877-458-8330 regarding a HSBC account my grandson had on his credit report.  We came to an agreement on a settlement for $2,000.  I went to the bank and sent a certified check and sent it priority.  The next morning my grandson was served with a summons regarding an HSBC credit card.  I called back stating that the man I talked to lied to me because he said that if I paid, all of this would stop.  Fortunately they e-mailed me a paid in full letter which I faxed to the courts which put a stop to it.

Man left message. Said I was being served but never clarified what it was for, or the charges. Since there is so much fraud, I ignored the call and am not about to pay anyone money that I don't know what it is for. Plus, he spoke so fast, that I could not understand him.

Debt Collector
That is true. They are bottom feeders. I took the call the first time and asked for proof of the debt. The responce I got was 'I don't have too, you know who it was for." Then I asked if their lawer had the ability to practice law in the State of CA? The reply was "Yes" so I asked for a state bar number and was given a number for a 90 year old man that retired 30 years ago. They asked me for my address and other contact information. I told them that they should have it then I hung up. After that I knew that they didn't know what they were doing and wrote it off as a joke / scam. I received several months of calls with threats from filling a capital gains type tax forms to wage garnishment. Most of which they can't do unless they take you to court. The icing on the cake was when they sent me a letter informing me that this was how much I owed them, which didn't have any information about who the original debter was, and at the bottom it says " this is an atemt to cease and desist." Now I am not allowed to talk to them. If they are going to try to speak legal terms then they should learn what they mean.
The bottom line is this, and it is true with any collection agency... they buy the old debt at 10 to 20 cents on the dollar so any offer they send or offer you is not worth more then that. if you plan on working with them then offer them 25% of the original debt and see what they say. That is what I do and usually they hang up on me.

These people are third party debt collectors!  They purchase debt regardless of how old and try to get the funds through harassment, intimidation, and threats!  They are bottom feeders.

You are telling a story they are not a legal service and can not process anyone in any state in the United States.  They are trying to collect information on you.  DO NOT PAY THEM ANYTHING...

I find it very hard to believe that the previous two comments are legit!  They possibly could have been entered by Niagara Acq. themselves.  Niagara Acquisitions is a  bottom feeder and has been in trouble with the law.

Check out 877-458-8331 and the comments under that number are much more factual!!!

I received a call from this number a few days ago. They are a legal servicing department that serves courtesy notices. I never responded to them and was served about 3 weeks later. I did call them after I received my summons. They helped me take care of it and stopped the court date. They were actually very nice. They took off some fees on some charges I had and sent me a release letter. If you get a call from this number I would respond.
