Whether they are in India or not, the easiest way to deal with them is NOT to communicate with them at all, but to let your phone "talk" to them. I mean don't even let them reach your voice-mail. They change their numbers constantly "thinking" that you're not going to know it's them. Here's what I did with these Indian-Middle Eastern-whatever they are-"God help you" ridiculous fools: my phone turned on as usual, the call comes in (they were calling like clockwork around the same time 1-4pm every other day), I "answer" the call (so I don't have to hear their disgusting voice-waste on my vmail!!) but say nothing. Immediately before they could say a word, I pressed random numbers long and loooud!!! "1, 2, 3,...." in their ears, they hung up. Another call comes in seconds later, but from a new number starting out with "0000..." I knew they were trying really hard to get through, but what did they get when I "answered" the phone again and again: an obnoxious seranade of touch tone buttons with the last note on number 9--a loooong beeeeeep! They didn't call back anymore that day....and the calls dwindled after two days. If I don't recognize your number I won't waste my time and energy trying to figure out who you are and what your scam is, you'll get random beeps from me and you'll either think "this guy's playing games" or "this phone number is out of service." Who cares what the scammers think, don't give them the time of day..i.e. ANY more information about you. AND  DON"T CHANGE YOUR NUMBER JUST FOR THEM...don't give them the time of day and fight back with a little subtlety..they will move on...haven't had a call in two weeks! and am ready for more..!

They will continue to call, even claiming to be a law officer and threaten to come to your work and home to "pick you up".
This is a scam! Do not call them back , it only encourages them to become more aggresive and threatening until they get money from you. Ignore them.
In some cases they have gotten peoples soc sec number and can rattle them off to you and threaten your credit if you don't send them money for fake claims. Most of the time they say you recieved payday loans and never paid them back.
IT IS A SCAM!!  They are in INDIA. If you do a *69  or return the caller's call from voicemail, the number  called back  (which is where it was dialed from) in a foreign number based in India.

Lori j9891....seriously! You can put any name you want and you pick that convoluted name?? You are probably part of this scam.

I contact the FBI today and they stated IT IS A SCAM!

If any of you are frightened by these harassing phone calls, call your local police department or the FBI for advise. They will tell you NOT to engage these people.

This is all a scam... Alot of you are commenting that you are scared that you will actually go to jail. That the police will come and pick you up from home. This is a lie. You cannot go to jail for this.

If you still do not believe me ask the person on the other end what his exact address is and the name of his "department" and tell him you will be recording the conversation and is this ok with him. If you still are not sure then tell him the law states that "an individual who owes a debt has a right to have that debt written on a document which list the company the date of debt the amount including any penalties etc" Tell him once you receive this letter you will be happy to call him back to discuss it... DO NOT give your address obviously if you owe this debt they should have your address. Guess what 100% of the time anyone of these tatics will work! They tried to take over $400 dollars from me. Telling me I had a loan from Cashnet. When they call I just act like I am about to turn on my "voice recorder" which always gets them to hang up. Look on the FBI website under phone scams. The FBI tells you not to engage these people in any type of conversation just hang up. It actually list the name "CashNet" right on their website.

Once I even acted like I was the "friend" of the person they were looking for when they called one day and got their number to have my "friend" call them back. Then I called them back and told them I was an agent for a made up law enforcement agency and that I was looking for Neal Johnson... You can't believe all the hurried paper shuffling and whispers on the other end!! They hung up (of coarse) so I just called them back and harrassed them for a few days.. I loved turning the tables on them!!

This is a scam. They claim to be Cash Net or a Cyber crime law office. Do not give them ANY personal information. Ignore, hang-up, whatever you want. They are nasty people and will continue to harass you. You have little to no recourse so my best advise is to not answer the call.
