A friend of mine, gave me her cell phone, to  keep, but I keep recieving harassment text messages from VSPINK, and I would love to have  this stopped, permanently. If not, I will report to the FTC,about this problem. Thank you.

got two text messages from 877-465 VSPINK to cell, saying there was a PINK panty party, and offering a price for 7 pink panties....

This is not sallie mae. I called the number listed on the sallie Mae website and asked the representative why I was receiving calls every night from sallie Mae when I have no late payments or anything overdue. She said all phone calls are documented on file and there was no documentation that they tried to contact me.  When I called the 877 number they said they needed my social security number, date of birth, and address. When I refused to provide them with the information the "rep" said he cannot help me even though he was able to see my last name on his screen and would not accept my account number.  If you call the real sallie Mae number they will accept your account number in leiu of your social security number.

Do not trust these people. If you think you have an issue call sallie Mae directly at 888-2sallie.

This number calls my cell phone every day; sometimes several times a day.   No one speaks when I answer.  I've waited for someone to answer so I could tell them to stop calling and they have the wrong number.

Called asked for my daughter and then hung up on ME!

They keep calling me, and they even leave a message on my voice-mail, but the message they leave just says their hours of operation, then gives their phone number again.

They never leave a message and keep calling at all hours of the day.  When someone actually answered here and said they couldn't make any loan payments they said pay what you can for now and the calls will stop.  Now they continue to call and will not stop until they receive all their money back.

Yes it is Sallie Mae.

I'm in CA but my cell phone number is a CT area code, so I am getting calls as early as 5:30 the morning, waking me up when I have class later that day.

I called them and explained that I live on the west coast even though my area code is on eastern time, and I was so upset about being called that early that I begged them to take me off the auto-dialer list because they are harassing me. The woman told me she couldn't take me off the list, and there was nothing she could do to make the 5 and 6AM phone calls stop until I paid my balance or changed my number. She even had the gall to tell me they aren't "harassing" me. They absolutely are, and I said that all the phone calls aren't making money appear in my account any faster, and I'd pay them when I was able to.

I also pointed out that it's not fair that other people who owe money don't have to be bothered at 5AM, but I am getting harassed and they are not even sorry for it. And I can't just leave my phone turned off all night, because sometimes I need it to have an alarm go off in the morning. They are really stressing me out.

This is Sallie Mae and yes your deliquent.  I actually spoke with them and I found them to be very pleasent and easy to speak with.  However, they called me twice earlier today and when I answered, no one responded, so that was odd.  But again, I found them very easy to work with.

I have been receiving calls from this number for several weeks now, usually many times per week.  I do have a Sallie Mae Smart Option loan, but it is paid every month on time!  I don't know why they are calling me.  They have only left one message, and it's a guy saying, "This is Michael with Sallie Mae about your account."  I'm starting to get really annoyed with these calls....is there any way we can block that number so we don't receive calls from them any more?  LOL

I have been called twice today form this number by somebody claiming it is Sallie Mae.  They ask me  to verify personal information over the phone. I told them (twice now) that I do not give out personal information to unsolicited callers. One agent told me she is not a solicitor. Dumb as a bag of hammers or not listening, don't know which.

I asked how I could verify that this was really Sallie Mae. They had no answer to that. If I get called a third time today I am going to tell them (again) contact me by mail only.

BTW, my son is not delinquent on his loan, it is paid by automatic payment every month from his bank account. I ask him about it every time this happens and he tells me the payment was made. I believe him.  Definitely time to sue these clowns.

877-465-9099 is NOT associated with Sallie Mae. DON'T BE FOOLED. This is a bonafide SCAM! When you dial the number back, the recording says "Thank you for calling Sallie Mae, this call may be monitored for quality purposes", then clicks and hangs up. It may sound official, but it is not.  Whoever these b*****ds are, they will be caught eventually.

H ow do I prevent calls from 877-465-9077  ?

It is Sallie Mae!   I had a missed call today and called the number back.  They were calling for a guy that must have given them my number as his own.  They were really nice, and said they were removing the phone number from his account.

Sallie Mae!  What a bunch of dumb s***s!  They tell us they had a computer crash before school started and sent out money everyone who applied, even if they didn't want it.  Now, we have tried to get the college to refund the money they used, without our concent, to Sallie Mae. However, we have been advised by the college that our student's financial aid will not be fixed until after January 3, 2011.  So we continue to have to make $25 payments each month for money we did not want.  We actually did not sign any papers.  Only filled out an application on-line.  And the Govermnent wonders why there is such a high rate of non-payment of student loans.  It is stuff like this that has America in the shape it is in today!  Oh, and by the way, we have been told that they will not reimburse us the monthly payments as they don't see where they are at fault for disbursing money we did not sign for.  PLEASE - Sallie Mae will never see another loan from my student or anyone in my family or friends.

Yes it is Sallie Mae - I missed their call so I called them back about an hour later.  There was no record of them calling me in their system AND the reason I called them back is I am the co-signer on my son's account and he is on auto-payment so there is no missing payments....EVER!!  Verified his account is good and current....not sure why they called, must have had the wrong number?

Of couse they do not respond. Sallie Mae employs the most rude people it can find. These employees delight in annoyances. They seldom keep decent records. Supposed to be for education but need to go back to school themselves

SALLIE MAE STAFF MEMBERS ARE DUMB AS DIRT.  We make payments every month on a student loan and every month we get calls that we are delinquent.  The staff members screw up the payment and then harrass us to make a payment.  The latest issue is that they sent us a notice that they are turning us in for collection and reporting it to the credit agencies.  All this and they have their money and it is paid ahead.  To make a sick and long story short, SallieMae apologizes for their mistake and dollars to donuts, next month they will pull this same thing again.  They were told to make a direct withdrawl from the checking account for a specific amount and instead they requested it from the savings account. This is illegal so the bank pulled the money back from SallieMae and SallieMae having made the mistake is holding us responsible for their mistake.  Time for a major lawsuit against SallieMae.  They make a financial error and hold us responsible for their mistake.  Not on my watch!

Stop repeatedly calling my cell and home phone

I have a Sallie Mae loan that I know for a fact is being paid every month more then what is actually due to it., And they are closed until Tuesday-so who keeps calling from them?

Also, not only does our daughter never intend to take on any other Sallie Mae loans but she is also advising her friends not to do so either.

It may be Sallie Mae but the people on their end of the phone don't listen to anything they have been told or follow the terms of the loan.  They keep calling us and asking to speak to our daughter.  If they even looked at the contact information they would see that she does not live here or even in this state. (ignorant people).  The stupid way they do business and their rudeness with clients is one of the reasons the Federal Government no longer backs their loans. I agree with the person that stated in their post that if they are Sallie Mae then stop blocking their name on the caller ID.  I know they do it because it can be done.  Don't tell me that my local phone company doesn't recognize it because they do.  I checked.  They also need to update their automated message system to recognize the end of an out going message of the number they have called so that their message doesn't start running before the end of the out going message.  That way the recipient of their call will get the entire message instead of a "small" portion of it.  The point being made here is conduct your business with integrity and respect will follow!  Also, stop harrassing the co-signer before you even attempt to contact the person that the loan was actually given to.  In addition don't tell us we are delinquent before the "grace" period has arrived.  Be thoughtful and use terms such as "the grace period is coming to an end shortly and it is in your best interest to avoid late fees by paying the amount due before that date".  Another point to be made here is that under no circumstances will we be stupid enough to give anyone that calls us any bank information or credit card information over the telephone.  I don't care who they are.  They are so incompindent that several times the payment was made, they gave our daughter a confirmation number and then they did not process the payment and started calling us to collect the payment.  This has happened so often that we refuse to discuss it with them until we speak with our daughter.  Mick has it right they are incompident beyond the meaning of the word.

Just got the same automated message on my cell. Sallie Mae loans do not have my cell phone info. Also, I am a full time student not scheduled to start making payments to Sallie Mae until 6 months after I graduate... In 2 years.. So why am I being harrassed?

Actually you CAN LEGALLY STOP them from calling under the FAIR DEBT AND COLLECTIONS PRACTICES ACT 15USC 1692 & the following you need to tell them "under the FAIR DEBT AND COLLECTIONS PRACTICES ACT 15USC 1692 & the following they are being advised to stop calling and they can only contact via USPS and you need to send them this in writting...send it certified where someone has to sign for it.After that YOU can sue them for harrasment and another thing SALLIE MAE is one of the biggest most croooked lenders out there they claim they will work with you even send you stuff saying they will work with you but they work with nobody!All it takes is 1 missed payment and they harrass even if your payments are current after the missed payment.
