yesterday Oct 12, 2011 I received a call--it was a man--he said to dial 877-479-3878.  It seemed
suspicious. Called 911 and she didn't give me any info but said call 9-1-1.
WHO IS DOING IT?? Anyone have an info? Has anyone tried it--and what happened???
So sad some don't have enough work to keep them busy so they get into mischief and make life miserable for us all.

I received a call from an "866" number, the recording stated it was not a marketing or solicitation call, but regarding a personal matter.  They left the number 877-479-3878 to call back.  I called.  The woman I spoke with wanted my name.  I asked for the name of the company.  She said Vision Eye.....  I gave her my name and she "pretended to search" for me.  She asked for my Social Security Number in order to find me.  I told her that she had no right to make annonymos calls or to ask for a SSN over the phone and I hung up.

Is there some way to report this type of company to an agency to shut down this type of practice?  Imagine if someone unknowlingly provided them everything they asked for and it was a scam.

Thank you for your research.  I've just sent them a Drop Dead letter.  The person who they are looking for is someone we do not know, but has our last name.

I called them back to basically give them what-for. They asked if I knew someone whose name I'd never heard.
love it - they answered the call "How can I help you?" my reply "you tell me, you people called me."

I received a call at my place of business from this number 877-635-1627 as I saw it on my caller ID.  They left a message saying that it was not a marketing or solicitation call, but regarding a personal matter then went on to say to call them back at 877-479-3878.  They didn't go into detail if it was to collect a debt or what it was about.  Anyway, I searched both these numbers and apparently the number that was on my caller ID was from a company called The Takhar Group but the other number that they wanted me to call back was Vision Financial Services.  If they want me to call them back they really need to give me a detailed message as to what this is about.  I don't want to call them back and find out this is a scam.

Received call from these yahoos at 8:00 am. Called back within an hour and spoke to a very rude debt collector  who hung up on my wife when she tried to explain that we didn't owe anyone. She called back and confirmed  who we were and this time they said it was taken care of. When my wife asked for verification and who she was speaking to they again got rude and said that they could call the police on us! Then they again hung up on my wife. I did some research and here's what I found:

Anyone can join linked in and send Jeff Rhodes a message directly- that might get their attention and convince them to rectify their shoddy business practices. I'm contacting him as well as filing a complaint with my state attorney general's office.

Called me too - no one has this number - not even my mother - I am registered on the do not call list so how can they get away with the "not a sales call" bit. I'm not calling back because it's always some scam.

Number kept calling my work phone, doctors office. So I called back and got through to a very ignorant woman. Gave her the phone number and told her to STOP calling as this is a Doctors office. She then proceeded to breathe heavily down the phone and told ME that I was breaking up, so I spoke slowly, clearly and loudly and she then said that the number I gave her was not in her directory and she cannot take a number off her directory if it's not on there and then she hung up on me.
Trash.
Ignore these calls, worthless time wasters.

then hung up on her.  This collection agency
evidently takes on old flawed "debts" -  uncollectable
and charged off.... bottom rung of pond feeders.

If you can get an attorney to do anything for nothing you're a better person than I.

7/31/11 3:25p left VM stating: "This is regarding important personal business. This is not a sales or marketing call"
leaving a callback number of  877-479-3878; upon looking up the number it belongs to Vision Financial Collections.
I'm referring the call to an attorney to send a cease and desist letter.  It is only way I have found how to stop the calls and it does not cost me any money.

...woken up by this caller... 7am.... same story as above... have ringer turned off all time... am collecting Excel file of these #s, don't know why yet.

877-479-3878 - Annoying  ! ! ! ! !     I have received several calls from people wanting to speak to someone that's not me.
They are rude, abusive and will not give out any information about themselves or their company. These people work for:

if you ask, they are required by Federal Law [Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - #808] to send you a copy of the debt they are trying and who they are collecting it for.
if you mail them a letter telling them that you don't owe the debt, and for them to stop calling - by Federal Law they must stop calling. if they continue to call, then you can sue them. be sure to send the letter with "Retun Receipt Requested" for your records. [Fair Debt Collection Practices Act - #806]

A recorded message to call them regarding an important  business matter when calling number back received information that did not even have anything to do with us. Basically calling me a liar and that I was the person they were looking for at this number!

They called on a Sunday, an automated message said I needed to call them. I called, only to get a message that they are closed Sundays.

Called them back Monday, the lady there asked for some strange name. I told them they had the wrong number. I asked if they would take my number off their calling list. "That's right" was the reply. I asked what company, she said Vision Financial. I asked who I was talking to, she hung up.

I called back and asked who they were before giving my info, the girl hung up on me. I called again and they guy become tough with me behind the phone.

Call you BBB and Attorney General's Office or call the main line and tell them to F' off. Just block your number so they cant play games back with you.

They are trash. I dont owe anyone money either.

I just received my first call from this company, at my place of business. The call went to voicemail and they don't identify for whom they are calling but it says it's not a sales call - it's personal. They didn't even say they were trying to collect a debt.

We don't have anything in collections as a company, we do owe money,YES, like most businesses, but are not behind in payments. So why are they calling a business? If it's personal you don't call a business.

These people will be reported to the Florida Do Not Call list and the FTC.

If you dont leave a message with details, sorry, I wont return it.  Especially at a place of business with several hundreds of employees.  Nice customer service!

I got the same message as everyone else got. I can't find who it is or what's it's about as it shows up unknown caller and give another NO to return the call. IF its a credit agency I don't owe anything to anyone. I filed a complaint with the National DO NOT call agency.. If  know who called me I can also sent a DO NOT contact letter and they can't call you again.

Same message, called the number and got a recording with business hours but no company or business name..screams SCAM to me!
