I have been getting the same calls, first from a different 877 number that I found by googling Imperial Partners. That was the company name that "Angela" game me when I called back. The peoples names that left the message are all mentioned in the posts about the other number...Kevin Schwartz (sp?), etc. The last person that called me was named "Josh", but the voice was the same as Kevin. I'm sure it is recorded, because when you call back to speak to the person that left the message they are always "not available". What frustrates me is that they are trying to contact an "Anthony" that could be my son...this issue is that Anthony is a middle aged adult, I have never been involved with his finances and we live across the country from one another. He has never lived in my state, had my phone number nor do I communicate with him any longer. This is harrassment...I have returned their calls all 3 times they have contacted me and told them such but the calls keep coming, about one every 3 weeks. What recourse do I have. I have the resources to contact a lawyer but would it do me any good? Does anyone know these answers?

I got a call from imperial recovery partners and it was about my debt that I owed to u.s. bank as well.  I never thought that this was a scam so I wanted to pay my debt off so I set up some payments with this company to fix the problem.  Then I went on the computer and looked this up and seen all of this stuff about what was going on so I got scared and went to the bank to have my card cancelled.  Today the lady from my bank called me with the number and I left a message for this place to call me back and to have them send me more information through the mail so that I would have something in writing.  I don't mind paying what for my debts but with all this talk about scams I cannot afford to lose any money or waste my time thinking that I am cleaning up one mess only to find out I am in a bigger mess.  So I am waiting to hear from them today and see if we can handle this through the mail.  If they are up front and this is real then so be it but I will never ever give my card number over the phone again.

Does anyone know where their calling from (physical address)?

I just recieved the same automated message as the others on this site.
This needs to be reported to the police. It's a huge scam... trying to get
your personal info. I'm forwarding this number to my own State and hopefully
everyone else will do the same.

They are calling me about my parents who I do not speak to. I  tried telling them everything I had on my parents because that is who they were asking for.  I live in a different state, different last name, yet they get my number but don't have the correct phone number for my parents!  WTH!  So I give Imperial all their phone numbers - they say thanks for cooperating and they will not call back. This was Thursday, now it is Tuesday, and they have called every day since.  They have left a message on my voicemail now talking to my parents directly, even though it says "Hi you've reached first and last name" which is completely different from my parents' names!!!!!  They did this 20 minutes after I called them - it was the same guy who said they would not call me back.   I cannot help it if my parents don''t answer the phone - why do they harras me?

They say it is not about money, but I know it is because my parents are dead beats. They say the same thing about wanting to clear up some mis-information, but that is b.s.

Can I really call the police on them?

I get the same call from Elijah too. This is the third or 4th time now.

I've been getting the same calls, from "Elijah." I haven't called them back, because having a pre-recorded message contact me is *super*-shady - if they actually had any need to get a hold of me, they'd have a human call. Adding a contact entry to my phone so I'll know to ignore it. Glad to know I'm not alone in dealing with this garbage.

Hi, I recieved the same message from a Josh today, so I called them back.  They answered as Imperial Recovery Partners, and the lady on the phone explained to me that they collect on debts.  They had my social and bank account number that was attached to my debt with US Bank.  I asked her about being a scam after reading all the comments on here, and she gave me the account number to go talk to the bank.  After talking to the bank they confirmed in fact that they did sell my debt that was from February 2010 to Imperial.  I called her back and went ahead and made a settlement payment, and they saved me a couple hundred dollars.  So I guess I'm not understanding all the comments on here.  After reading the FDCPA, I now realize why they do not give out to much information on the message, they are not allowed to do so.  Call them back and if they have the wrong # they will remove it, its not that hard and if you have a debt man up like I did and pay your bill instead of gossiping on a website

I have been ignoring their call for some time - about once a week. Today, I decided to call back. Here is the conversation:

[Responder] Imperial, how can I help you?
[Me] I have been getting these calls from you - what is it about?
[Responder] Give me your phone number starting with your area code first so that I can look it up and route your call
[Me] I need to know why are you people calling me? Is this a marketing company?
[Responder] No sir, this is not a marketing company.
[Me] What is this thing then?
[Responder] Give me your phone number and I will route your call. If you don't want to give me your phone number then they will keep on calling you.
[Me] I don't think I'll give out any info

At this point, I figured they don't have any information about me so I hung up. I am expecting more calls but they will never be answered and I won't call them back again.

I have not dealt with them personally, it sounds like a company out there called Star LLC(but they operate under several different aliases) and what they do is they buy old debts, debts that are more than 7 years old in most cases and they call the last known number or people who are listed as references on the original credit account and they claim at first to be clearing up misinformation and it turns into a big thing where they threaten that they are going to have your family members arrested and that a warrant has been issued and they will act on it immediately if you do not pay of this debt. Bascially, there is nothing legally they can do to collect this debt being it is that old so they try scare tactics, if this is the case don't pay anything they tell you about. If they keep calling after you have asked them to stop calling the next time they call record the conversation and again inform them to stop if they continue to call at that point they can face legal ramifications and then you might want to seek out a lawyer, if you think it is worth your time or something that they have no intentions of giving up on.

I'm thinking these people (who have also called me) are hopoing we volunteer any information about ourselves that will aid them in stealing our identity. They may call the firstime and offer no name of who they want to speak to. You call back leave a message, they return a call asking for you or the person who left the message. eventually you might give them what they ned, then......watch out! This is just my opinion however it is probably a good idea to give them nothing.

Got the same message froma JOsh and to call by 5:30 today. I won't even call it back. Looked it up on Google. It is a scam for sure,don't call it back. My number is unlisted and that's how they got it. They don't call us by name, so that's fishy as well. Big Scam!!!

Got a call from "Josh" 877-481-1169 no company name, just message to return his call by 5pm at same #. Says something about clearing up "mis-information".
Have no idea who this is, how they got my cell phone number.

Got  calls one from a Tony and one from a Josh. Both had same massage: "Hello, Sorry to inconviniance you again but there is a matter of yours or a party in your houshold of whom i havent recieved a corraspondence from. My intintions are to verify some location information to un-dilude a series of conflicting facts. As you may or may not know I can't divulge persoinal details over your voicemail. call me back .............."

"David" 877 481 1169 just got the police whistle in his ear. He won't be calling me again.

I never talk to these people. All my calls go straight to voice mail/answering machine. Since I have lived in the same house with the same number for 23 years I know I am listed and they can address me by name. It's their nickel, let them call. Sooner or later they will stop and move on to someone else.
This number just appeared today but 'Josh' indicated there had been 'previous attempts to 'straighten out some misinformation'. I believe this to be a scheme to Collect Info they do not already have.

three calls to my cell - finally called  "do you recognize these names"  i say no and then on to
what is your last 4 digits of ss number.  i say i am not giving you my social!!   they become rude
and say i am uncooperative!   first class scheme.  will report to police

I also received a voice mail from a man by the name of Elijah stating he had some conflicting information that he needed to clear up and to call between 8-5 central standard time and ask for him.

I returned the call from an unidentified work number and was re-routed through their phone system and finally got to speak with a human. This must be some type of collection agency.  They are looking for my son that lives out of state and I requested they remove my number from all of their records.

Same thing from "Elijah Hawke."  Will not return the call.

I don't know who these people are but I want them to quit calling too. I'm pretty sure it is a SCAM! Don't give out any private info.

Got different messages from Elijah, Chuck, Tony, and Josh. They are not recorded.

I recieve alot of calls from this persom but i just block the caller. And i get alot of calls for Verizon.
