They asked all kinds of questions, full SS#, DOB, full credit card #, mother maiden name, asked where you worked, if you took out a loan (verification questions). Did not feel comfortable giving this info. especially with the first representative. They didn't give me a full name, just first name and log in number. They put me on hold twice.

Something doesn't sound right. He, Jared kept saying they were a legit online arm of freecredit report and experian.

I notice a charge on my card that read (Experian *freecredrpt877-481 6825CA $14.95) I called right away to dispute charges since I haven't signed up for anything regarding credit this year.  The lady who answered sounded as if she were From India. She asked for my full name then told me that she needed info to verify who I was.  She needed full ssn, mother's maiden, birthdate.  I figured since the credit card bill was charged by experian then it must be an experian charge.  Then she needed my full credit card number.  Red flags were going up and she said she didn't have any charges to my name so she needed cc#.  I finally gave it to her and she told me that an Adam C used my card to his account.  I called my credit card company right away.  I will now have to put an alert through all 3 credit bureaus and get a new card sent to me now that I no longer feel safe.  My lesson is just dispute charges through the credit card instead of calling the business listed and giving them too much info!

call your bank and tell them the amount to look for and the company and they will put a stop on it, then you might have to change your bank account because your bank account has been comprised.

I just now noticed that I had a charge from this company, after looking through my account history this has been going on for at least 5 months. I called and canceled and then reported the company to the FTC bureau of consumer protection. Experian also added my new address to my credit without me giving them the information and ok to do so. They will not listen to you for a second when you call them to cancel, but when the guy pointed out the disclaimer I had to look for it. When I found it, its light blue writing on a light blue background. They did not call me I noticed the charge on my account.

I didn't receive a call from them but they did take 14.95 from my account. This happened when I signed up to receive a free credit report from a very popular credit report company. When you sign up for their service they lump you into a 7 day trial period of some program, that's when they start to charge you for the program. I simply called the above number and when they told me I couldn't get refunded I asked to speak to a manager because I was going to report them to the Consumer Protection Bureau and that's when they told me that they would refund me the full amount and cancel my account with them. Don't let them get away with this!!

When I call (8774816825)them they refuse to cancle my account until I informed them that I was online with the Comsumer Report and was planing to joine the class action suit against them. They then closed my account or so they said. I will see if there is anothe charge against my account.

I too was charged $14.95 for "monthly monitoring of my credit report even though I specifically indicated that I only wanted the one time report.  The customer service rep said the only way I could cancel would be by calling that number.  I was then told that I still would be charge the next month's fee to which I told them that it was not acceptable.  After a moment I was told the account was immediately cancelled and no further charges would be made.  Let see if that is the case.

I also found a $14.95 unauthorized charge on my credit card, so I called the number and after about 15 minutes got through to someone who was obviously seated at a phone bank in India. Then it dawned on me that someone outside the United States has access to your personal informaion because if you want to attempt to get them to remove the charge, youmust give them your mother's maiden name and the last four digits of your ssn, in addition to your cc number.

Does anyone have their physical address so we can organize a million person protest march in the hope of discouraging them from continuing to scam people?

I too received this charge and called 877-481-6825.  I received an operator who wanted to tell me of all the benefits of this service.  I threatened a fraud suit if they didn't credit it back immediately.  I was then read a script again.  I demanded to speak to a supervisor and was suddenly issued a credit.  I will call my bank to be sure that I am refunded within the promised 7-10 days.  If you have the same problem, I suggest doing the same thing.  Next time, I will avoid freecreditreport.com because it is a scam and anything but free.

If only we could dip into their own personal accounts would they care that they are draining ours. They (CIC)tell me I can't cancel or dispute charges coming from my account because my husbands name is the one they "stole" basicly. But the money is being taken out of our joint account. This is so wrong and how our government can allow companies to operate like this is insane. As if We don't have enough money problems- that some person that has obviously sold their soul for a crappy pay check ( what do they pay the out sourced operators anyway?) So upset I'm going to fight this all the way. Noticed charges on my account- no call. Well not sure so many fraud numbers everyday.

I was looking through my credit card statement because I noticed that the balance was more than what my husband and I had charged the past few months. Come to find out, when looking closer, this charge was on my bill. I was ticked because I knew both my husband and I cancelled the report and was told that no charges would be on the credit card used. When I called the company, they apologized all over the place but I was still told that I would have to pay the full $14.95. I disagreed and told them to either take it off the account or I was going to put a call into the BBB and the FTC. I was told that I didn't have to go that far and that I was over reacting to a charge that I approved. I then asked how can I approve something that I had already cancelled and received a cancellation number for.  All of a sudden the charge was reversed and I was promised that I would see the reverse in 7-10 business days. We'll see what happens, but if it doesn't come back on my card, I'll be making my phone calls to both FTC and BBB and then to my lawyer! I ahte being lied to!

SCAM! CANCEL YOUR CARD/ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

My husband has repeatedly cancelled with them.  The first time they said he had to go back online to do it, which he did.  The next month we were charged again! He called again and they asked him for a cancellation number which he did not have.  He cancelled again (this time giving the credit card number again) and was given a cancellation number.  The next month he was charged twice!  He told me that he was told one more month's charges would be taken out - not two.  He called again and was promised a refund.  That was in November 2008.  I just checked his account for him - he's been charged twice every month since then.   He has now cancelled his card completely.

I also had a reoccurring charge on my credit card.  When you go to their website you have to specifically indicate no ongoing report.  If you don't check all the boxes, they will begin charging you.
