i got a call from an identified 877 number, didn't answer, called them back, identified myself and they said they were looking for a 'certain name' and i said that's my son's ex-wife, haven't heard from her in years and they said they'd remove my number from their call register.

We kept getting calls from 877-482-7699 but they never left a voicemail. I finally called back and asked who was calling (Benoit Rivard, CBB Collection Services). I asked what it was about, and he said I first had to identify myself. I told them that since he'd called me (over and over), he needed to tell me who he was looking for, on whose behalf and for what purpose. He insisted on my identification. I refused. He asked if I was a lawyer. I told him I was a private citizen aware of my rights and interested in avoiding being scammed, that any legitimate business would ask for someone by name and state their business. He hung up on me. I say scammer. Changed my number. There has to be a law about this, no?

they called everyday ,  no leave a message, thats harrasment

Got a phone call from this number no message and did not answer it.

I received a call today from this number while I was at work.  I receive emails from Verizon at work every time someone calls my house and if I don't recognize the number I google it.  When I saw it was a debt collector, Allied, I called them back to find out why they would be calling our house. They asked for our phone number to loook it up and asked if a Christopher Churchill was at that number.  I told them no, never has been.  They apologized, said they would mark the file and not call us again.  We'll see I guess.

Several calls over the weekend I never answered. Today I answered in Spanish and was quickly hung up on.

They tried asked me my DOB, Address.
I keep who's are you, but they never tell who they are
They call my cell phone and burn my minutes, I dont want this number call me.

Started getting these calls on 2/12/13.  The voice was an older female and her connection was bad. I told her I didn't understand her and hung up.  Got two more calls in the last two days, but no one answered when I picked up. One at 8:30 PM, one at 9:43 AM.  I called the number back and got a voicemail  that said the woman's name was "Shirley" and  then asked for my Social Security number and bank account number to identify my case.  Claims she is with an employment agency out of Oakland CA.  This is definitely a SCAM and anyone  who would give out their Social Security and bank account number on a voicemail or to anyone who is asking for it, is asking  to be a victim of identity theft and have their bank account emptied out!  DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM or similar versions of it.  A so-called debt collection agency could use this same information to garnish your bank account or locate where you work to garnish your salary.  Don't give that information to them!  Many debts are stale and uncollectible, but these junk debt collectors will threaten you with legal action just to get your money, when its not legal to collect it after a certain time period.  Protect your identity, and NEVER give out personal, SS, bank, or credit card information to someone who calls you, even if they say they are from your bank, job, or credit card company.  They would already have that information, so only a scammer would try to get it from you!   Hope this info helps others from getting scammed!

a guy called more than 15 times within last two weeks. finally i called back. they wanted verification. i did not give any.i asked what is all about. he needed verification. i refused. i have not been here last 18 years. even if i had loan, statue of limitation in ca is four years.

I just called them back and someone answered!  Man with a foreign accent.  I told him I was reporting the phone number online and that if I get another phone call I am calling the police.  He asked for my phone number so I gave it to him.  HOPEFULLY the information will get me removed from the list.

Called Saturday, Monday and this morning after I already asked them to stop calling.  My phone has call block so it didn't make it through, but I called back.  First 2 times they hung up on me without saying anything. 3rd time I started saying "HELLO" right as it connected.  Guy announced "This call will be recorded" and then identified himself as "Mukesh" from Allied Interstate.  I told him they kept calling me after I had requested twice for them to stop.  He gave me three different names that were associated with my number (I did not know any of them and the names were not similar to mine).  I told him our last name and that we had this number for 8 years.  After about 3 minutes of wrangling ("Are you sure you don't know anyone with these names?') he said he would mark the account and we would receive no further calls.  We shall see...

Called on Saturday and today.  Call center, heavy Indian accented man announced, "This call will be recorded" then he asked for someone I have never heard of (name isn't even close to ours).  I told him this was the "Smith" residence and asked him to take our number out of their database.  I see by research it is another Allied Interstate number.  These bozos have been calling my number for over 6 years looking for at least 10 different people.

Get calls from this number at least once a day. Filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry but calls have not ceased. So I started answering in Italian and it's just dead air with no one speaking.

I also received calls from this TN and the guy would not give any information. Then they called back twice in the same day when I said "hello".... silience. So I reported the incident to this web address...

Someone calls my cell from this number every morning--no message, no name, just the number.

They call me every day. Then they hang up. I never speak into the phone. This also seemingly involves a Bally's membership that I legally canceled when I moved to Brazil more than 16 years ago. It is not on my credit report and cannot be reported anyway because its 16 years old!

I have decided to move into aggression mode. When they call me I call them back 10 times and leave the phone off the hook. I also blast Behemoth or Gorgoroth through my stereo speakers. Muslims love Black Metal. \m/

Called about a supposed Bally's gym debt under my maiden name from the late 90s!

They called me at 10:56 pm. When I answered they hung up. I called back and I asked them for their company name. He tried to verify who I am and I again asked them who they are as they are calling me at 11 pm and are calling against the law at this hour. He said he is with Allied interstate and then attempted to verify my identity again..... Not at 11 pm he's not! I hung up!

Appears to be from India call center. THICK accent and very rude.  As soon as they acted rude, (15 seconds or less) I ended the call.

I was called on a debt that was sold to a National Credit Adjuster.  I called the Original Place where I got the loan and they said that they sold it.

Some Indian women and guys keep calling my cell phone trying to collect Stating she was Bally's Fitness for a Bally's Fitness Membership  ( supposedly I owe $2000) that was terminated over 14 years ago. First I'm from CT and the Statute of limitations ( even if this debt was real, which it is not) is 6 years. After that (SEE YA) anyways when I asked them to verify their Name and address they couldn't pronounce it  or spell it. Eventually after google the 1-877-482-3965 number I found out it's Allied Interstate, Inc. . A Hack Collection Agency. I called them and requested they stop calling me and my cell phone. They disconnected the call. When I called back they blocked the call. I tried ever number listed on the internet to contact them and the same thing happened. I didn't even get a dial tone on any of their numbers but did get a "this number is no longer in Service " message" for one. It cost me cell phone minutes and a bunch of my time. As well they call all hours. Who or what ever Allied Interstate is they are morons! They are breaking all the FDC laws and quite frankly are as Bad as they get. Just short of being Organized Crime. This phone number 877-482-3965 and 888-316-6088 call me at least 3 to 4 times a day. They are scams working together.
