I received a call on my cell phone.  "Chris Pitman" left a message asking for my sister or my father by name - not me.  I don't have any affiliation with BofA so I have no idea how they got my cell phone number.  I am on the do not call registry.  My sister told me that both she and my father received the same message.  I attempted to call back and the message indicated that the office was closed (even though it was during the hours they claimed to be available).  I plan on calling "Chris Pitman" at extension 1631358 over and over and over so that he is unable to take the time to try to scam other people.  I wonder how scumbags like this sleep at night?!?!?!

I have received several calls from this number, never a real live person on the other end. Just a recording. They don't specify who they are calling for other than "card services", which is way too generic for my liking. I'm not about to call them back. I'm on a payment plan with my credit card and if they can't be bothered to actually call me themselves, I'm wondering why I'm bothering??

They call every morning around 8:00am for the past two weeks, even on Saturday morning.  Although I have my answering machine to record the message, I don't want to return this nameless call.  They don't give their name and won't say why they are calling.  I don't have any credit card debt, and I don't owe anybody any money, and My phone number is on the Do Not Call list.  Calling people every morning at 8:00am is not the right way to do business. Is there any legal action we can take?

They called my cel and my work yesterday. They asked me to call them back. I never did but when I checked my BofA account I noticed I was late a few days. I don't think they'll call back.

Got two calls from "card services".  Appears to be a phishing scam.  The second caller identified herself as a BofA employee, however this was not the case.

Automated v-mail from 'card sevices'. Debt collector with a bad number, go figure. Someone gives bad info and then goes hog wild with credit. My last four numbers of my phone number are '2468'. Like someone isn't going to ude that for fraud.

bank of America says if they had called you, they would have said, "call back to the number at the back of your card." definitely a phishing scam

I haven't called them back yet, but at one point they left a voicemail identifying themselves as "Bank of America Card Services" (3 voice mails so far, other 2 are just "Card Services"). I immediately called Bank of America and spoke with a helpful woman there who checked my records. My account has been closed for 6 years with no outstanding balance, she's given me a number to call for their own internal collections department. I've also gotten a copy of my credit report, nothing is late or past due, and there are no entries for BoA. I suspect this is another case of an over eager debt collector, a year and a half ago I was served papers for foreclosure even though I'd never owned a house.

It is Bank of America.  We didn't give this number any information, instead calling the Bank of American 800 # on the back of our card to determine that someone else (in our town) had our phone number.  If you're not late your payments then I'd call them to get it resolved.

I do not use Bank of America, but they call me up to three times a day.  I called and requested for them to stop calling, and to take my number off their list. They refused because I would give my name.

received a message to call credit card services, no ident on which of the 24 i had, no live person and they wanted me to first imput my CC number.  people if this is not a scam then we are really very much becoming a third world nation. this should be shut down now, perhaps the trillions of dollars wasted on government pork barrel projects could be put to some real use.  protect your credit, if it sound even a bit fishy then call the number on your card. never call a number and give them your CC number before you check them out on the web.. type SCAM then the name of the company or the phone number.

I received same message and called the 877-498-0351.  The man I spoke to said we could not continue our conversation until I gave him my date of birth and social security number.  When I refused to give it to him, he told me they would continue to call me until I spoke to them and fix my account.  I asked it he could give me the name of the bank he is affiliated with and he refused and said he would be disclosing private information and that I needed confirm my identity with my social security number.  I then hung up on him.

I then called my banks and they told me to REPORT THESE PEOPLE TO MY LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT. I have done to .

PLEASE DON'T GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM YOU.

You Bet I am getting calls because my financial situation took an unexpected nose dive in June and I was curious about the special financing you mentioned in your message. If I am being too nosy or you don't want to share the info that's cool!!!

They called me about the same thing. I have tried to discuss things a couple of weeks ago about getting interest rates lowered. They would not have any of it. They would not work anything out with me. I have never been late before. They lowered my credit limit to almost nothing. After several attempts to try and work something out. I told them there was a very good chance I would be filing for bankruptcy. Well to make a long story short. I missed my first payment last week. They are calling me 3 times a day now. In another month will be filing for bankruptcy.

Same thing for me on 6-4-10. "We would like to discuss the status of your existing relationship with us."  blah blah "convenient hours.... Thank you."  I figure they are going to raise my interest rate because I missed a payment. I'm planning on paying off the card and closing the account. I dislike BoA beyond words.

Debt Collector
BOA. I had my ID stolen, health and employment issues. I missed two payments and was told by BOA that if I paid a certain amount by a certain date (not the amount owed, but a lesser amount) that they would set me up on a financial hardship plan. The "Card Services" Customer Assistance Unit harrassed me with two to three calls almost every hour/5 hours each day. I called the BOA Hardship dept as I work from home and the calls were interupting that work. They said that there was nothing they could do unless I did a post-dated check for the lesser amount and even then the calls might continue. I advised them that I couldn't do that as I needed to wait to see how the work situation turned out and I'd call back before the lesser amount was due if I had any trouble whatsoever with making that payment b/c of my hardship.

When the time came, I did have trouble, but I paid 2/3rd of the lesser payment and was told that I'd be fine and as long as I had the rest of that amount by the following week...that they would work with me. Following week I had the money and they assessed my income and said that the couldn't help me: that I didn't make enough money to be put on a hardship program!???

So...I just let them call. I've shut off the ringer and I will pay them this month when I finally have the money saved. There's nothing more that I can do. As soon as I have the card paid off completely, I'm closing the account - the gas rewards points weren't worth this hassle.
