I also received a call at work today from someone identifying herself as Amy Taylor, who called herself an "investigator". I have dealt with these people before and all of the calls are from a particular California area code and each call they have a new threat toward me. They have left messages at my home and my mother's home and have now started calling me at work. The first time they did so a man with a heavy accent left a message with our secretary (I'm a teacher at a public high school) after she wouldn't transfer his call to my room and told her that he was a "cyberinvestigator" which was very embarrassing to say the least. I talked to our campus police officer and he told me if I was called again to immediately ask for a badge number and to give the caller his direct phone line and tell the caller to contact him, that he would be dealing with the issue. Needless to say, "Amy" did not like this at all. After telling me she was an investigator I immediately asked her with what police department and asked for her badge number. That is when she got very hostile and threatened me with jail time because I supposedly had written a number of bad checks to a bank that I have never done business with. She quickly gave me this 1-877 number before I could give her our officer's number so I called the number back to give her the information and when I tried she cut me off and said, "Well, then just be ready to be served with papers and possibly arrested at your job" and then hung up on me. I plan on speaking with our officer as I'm leaving today to tell him about the latest threat and give him the number for "Amy". If you get a call from these people realize it is all a big scam and do not let them threaten you!!

I received a call as well on my mothers cell, claiming that I had been a victim of ID theft.Funny because I have been receiving calls on every family members number that I am going to jail for fraud. These people are bottom feeder debt collectors. I have reported them to the State attorneys office. They will do and say anything for you to give them your personal info over the phone. When asking them to send you a bill (that you would then pay if owed they proceed to tell you that the only thing they will be sending is papers to your door to put you in jail.HAHAHA...they then decided to call my 85 year old mother in law posing as Morgan Chase. She freaked because she has been having problems with the bank. I did tell her this is a scam but they continue to call her and she is old and cannot take the harassment. Chase knows my phone number and address and E-mail. Send me the bill. As far as I know I have no payday loans out anymore, They were all paid in 2007. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO...FILE A COMPLAINT!!! When you call the # back that they leave(and there are several.)The person says hello in a real deep laid back voice. No legit company just says hello and no intro to who they are.

Investigator Gaines just called me.  Previously I had spoken to a deputy Warren who told me he was calling from the county clerks office.  When I asked Investigator Gaines if I could speak to Deputy Warren, he told me there is no such person, nor would he imply that he was from the county clerks office.  That I must have been mistaken.  I wasn't I heard clearly what this gentleman said to me.  Today I asked Mr Gaines to send me proof of the debt, and asked him for the name and address of the company he was calling from.  He wouldn't give me either.  I said that I would have my attorney call, but she will ask me the name of the company that she is calling and their address for the company, again he told me that he would rather speak to my attorney and still would not give me this information.  Finally I asked him to fax me something that included the companies name, address and what this debt was inregard to.  This was over an hour ago.  I believe if they were legit they would offer this information to me.  Wouldn't a real company offer this information to me?

I just received a call from an "Investigator Gaines" asking me if I knew two people that have my same last name.  When I said I didn't and asked who he was he just told me his name and hung up.  Have no idea what they're trying to pull but they're not very smart about it.  The number came up as "unknown name" on my caller id.

My mother called me this morning and told me that my brother had got a call from "private" claiming that she was Investigator Wilson. They said that I was being charged with fraud and that if my brother didnt give them any information he too would be included in the charge. They refused to say where they were calling from. They gave him the number 8774999473 for me to call back.

Later I called that number and a man answered. No greeting or anything. You would think if they were calling as an investigator you would get a police station or something. He was very rude and all he kept trying to get out of me was more phone numbers.I asked where i was calling and he remarked CMD!  I told him i wasnt going to give him anymore information and he cursed at me and hung up.

Ive called the police dept to make a report.
