I got a letter with this number to call and transfer funds. Letter said they have not received credit card payment. I've never been late in my life, always in full every month. Will call my credit union tomorrow

I got three voicemail messages telling me to call this number because my credit union wants to talk with me about an important matter. It sounded fishy, so I called my credit union to find out if they recognized the number and if they were trying to reach me. They were not trying to reach me and did not recognize the number. The member services representative is reporting it to their Fraud Dept.

I received a robo-call which went to my voicemail on my work phone.  The message said that it was for <my son's name> from my credit union and to call 877-500-7697 for "an important matter".  Wanting to be cautious, I did a Bing search and found this website.  I then called my credit union's main number, and they said that this phone number was not associated with them.  Undoubtedly, it's a phishing scam.  A little creepy that they were able to personalize the call with my  son's name and my credit union's name (he also has an account at my credit union).

Literally called my home number 27 times in the 3 days. Fortunately, we have a PBX and were able to blacklist this number.
No legitimate company calls a customer or prospect 27 times in a 72 hour period. This reeks of scammers.

Debt Collector
I have rec'd a number of calls from 1-888-918-7331 but they leave a 877-500-7697 number to call back - I called them back this was about a year ago, it was a courtesy call to tell them they had a wrong number, that no such person lives at the number they were calling. Like a dummy I gave them my name and the next thing I know they have me in collections with my bank, on and on they went. I was furious and told them I didn't have any problems with my bank and if it was so I would contact them directly. The lady insisted she could transfer me to the bank collections and talk with them to resolve my account. She would not stop talking and kept asking me for my account number and other questions and was very insistent so I hung up and called my bank. The bank confirmed there were no issues that it sounded like a scam. What was scary the caller knew where I banked and I told my bank, was it a guess or did I say something? For days after that I got collection calls from the same number and they would leave an automated message for me but like the original call the name was distorted.A year later they are calling again for a "Roger Kowawaske, same thing last name really distorted. They claim they are from Infinity Bank. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize and most don't leave a message. What's weird is this place leaves a 1-877-500-7697 number that is listed in this directory as a scam call. So if you answer be alert they are very nice at first and ask seemly innocent questions and the next thing you know they got you!

Sounds like it could be a legit call based on some of the previous statements but none the less be careful.

And to Debt Collector - that's a rude remark pay your debt and the calls stop? Really I think we have all been there for one reason or another but this scam crap needs to stop these people have scammed so much money out of innocent people so if you are so perfect what are you doing out on this website?

They called stating they were from my Credit Union (even using its name), but the number did not even work when I called it. I got another call using a different number and saying the same thing. I checked my credit union's web site, and they have an alert about an identity theft scam. This is it. Do not give out any information if you get this call.

This is a phishing scam - not a legitimate number.  This is NOT a Credit Union calling but part of a widespread phishing fraud.

These calls are PHISHING SCAMS.
Your Credit Union will have your information on record and never has to ask you for it or for you to confirm it.
If in doubt call your bank yourself (at your BANK'S LISTED PHONE NUMBER) and ask if there is any problem with your account.
NEVER give out personal info in a phone call you yourself did not initiate.

You're a lowlife dirtbag troll. Burn in hell.

IT'S A PHISHING SCAM
Do not answer when they call.
If you did answer your phone just hang up and do not respond to any of their questions.

This phone number showed up on my caller ID, keeps calling, had our name, our bank which is not any bank/credit union listed here...  I'm calling my credit union now.

It wanted me to press 1 if we were the name given, and press 2 if we weren't.  I hung up.

I would love to know how to get these calls to stop.

Caller wanted me to leave a message on my neighbor's door. I said no.(I had done this with a different neighbor last year and found out that it was a bogus scam. My neighbor works for an attorney and found out that this company is collecting credit card numbers and other personal info.) When I refused to help, caller said she was disappointed that I wouldn't help my neighbor in an urgent situation.

This number is given to us by an incessant automatic dialing system. It is clearly a scam. Neither my credit union nor the local police department is the least bit interested. Sympathetic? Yes. Helpful? NO

Why are thousands of us telephone users being left to our own devices? Why doesn't FCC or my local system (Qwest) put an end to this?

Ding dong this is a scam.  I work for a credit union, it's nothing but a phishing fraud. A financial institution already knows your card #, which institution they represent, & expiration date.
Also, if they are legimate the may ask you the last four of your SS #, phone #. Something they'd never ask is your full card #, the 3 digit security code, & full SS #...they should state the reason why they're attempting to reach you BEFORE you give out your info.
