My 9 year old daughter got the text saying her unemployment card is suspended.. LOL. I did call the number listed to see what the angle was..but it was already disconnected. HAHA! Glad there are sites like this to help bring down these idiots.

I got this same message:
zqnqpe@creditunionwest.com
"Contact immediately CUWest Security Department at 8775031134"
How much of a bottom-feeder does one have to be to do something like this?
I do have an urge to call them back, but I don't really want to use my own phone to do that. The 7-11 down the street doesn't have a payphone anymore.

I got *exactly* the same message that Zook got.. threw me for a momentary loop as I looked at all my plastic, NONE of which had the numbers of what is most likely a non-existant card.. the text message came from "ggglnu@verzion.com".. needless to say, I did NOT call back the 877 number.. Hopefully, they'll find the little scum who is sending out these text messages and squish him like a bug..

I just got the same thing but saying CaliforniaCU has deactivated your debit card. The from address is a Verizon address with a gibberish name.

UnemploymentBenefitsCardHasBeenSuspended Please Call: 8775031134
My son also received a text message while at home....on unemployment. He called the local Iowa Workforce office and they are looking into this for him. Seems suspicious that we both received this today about noon.

Yes, I just got one too. Must be phishing. I'm going to call back and string 'em along for some fun...

Received a text message "Contact immediately CUWest regarding your limited debit card at 877-503-1134". Reports of similar messages on this site indicate a phishing scam, which I feel applies here, too, as I have no CUWest accounts.
