"Allied Interstate"

http://www.dailyfinance.com/2010/10/26/feds-f ... eat-violations/

For those of you who have high speed ISP's, pay an additonal 5.00 US to put a reverse call trace block on your number. This will prevent alot of the random calls, however Allied has over 2000 registered numbers around the world.

another option is some software simliar to this one http://www.phonetray.com/order

Other than that the only other option is to file a claim with.
http://www.stopdebtcollectorsharassment.com/

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I get repeated phone calls anywhere from 2-23 a day for people who have never lived here. Just write down all the numbers and submit them with your claim as well. When I ask them who they are they will not say or try to give me the run around. They even went as far as calling my wife a lier and accusing her of being the person they were looking for. Then followed by "ma'am we'll just server you collection papers" we said "fine, go ahead, you have or number and our address and I can prove who I am, can you"
It does not matter what you do or how you do it. they paid over 1.75 million in governement fees and fines. they don't care who you are. Only best option is too start a class action lawsuit nation or international lawsuit and try to shut them down. Only to have them rename it under a shell company name and do it all over again.
You will find my "bunch of crap" echoed by the CFPB and FTC if you bother to follow those links I'd placed. The "crap" is preached by real winning FDCPA plaintiffs who understand what a paper trail is for. While you moan about what you see as a hopeless cycle, others are taking notes and laying legal traps, and collecting on judgments against those same sloppy lawbreaking companies. More for them, I guess.
Debt collectors are not librarians. They're not expected to export their "work product" annotations of debt accounts when portfoliios are handed off or resold. No, you don't get a choice of what agency calls you or why. You do get a choice of how to be contacted or to ban contact. That doesn't work to your liking? Either suck it up or cancel your phone service.
Yawn ... Another claim that Allied/iQor/Name of Company Here is secretly paying my salary. I'm sure that explains why eighteen months ago I wrote a condensed history of Allied Interstate's recent illegal conduct.
They keep calling and they are a valid collection agency called Allied.  However they call on an account that is past the statute of Limitations ( 6 years in Oregon) 7 years fir credit bureau and they say they have been authorized to accept a lower payment then the original amount and it can be spread over 3 months.  But you have to give him a valid credit or debit card to have and then they will charge it.  Well I dont know about anyone else but I am not responsible anymore nor required to pay the bill since it is past the statute of limitations and I refuse to give them my credit info so hopefully they get the hint and stop calling!!!
You are absolutely correct on all counts, of course.
However, once in a while, hiding your phone number from a toll-free line of a potential scammer may be useful, if you avoid giving them any information about yourself AT ALL during you call, INCLUDING any bogus "case number" or "docket number" they may have given you in their first call.  (That number is assigned by the scammer and used as an index to keep personal track of you.)  I think best reason to use a system for hiding your own number from the toll-free line of a scammer is to make one call to them to get information about THEM without giving away ANY information about yourself - including, but not limited to your real phone number.
If you make harassing calls to a scammer, you may be just as liable as they might be for harassing you.  And the FDCPA isn't the only law involved -- depending upon the state, there are also criminal laws involving harassment by telephone that may be independently enforced and that can land you in jail for up to 6 months or more.  Making repeated harassing phone calls using techniques that make the calls difficult to trace doesn't mean they won't or can't be traced, and I wouldn't think any court would look too kindly on you for making such calls.
So I completely endorse what you are saying.
Then edit to read, "You cannot normally hide .... using a plain vanilla telco account". Lone Stranger has described much the same kind of VOIP manipulation. It's a lot of trouble for a very small benefit, not that I see any from Revenger's plan to simply become a short term annoyance ... which as you indicate can bring serious backlash.
Actually, you CAN hide your own outgoing number from a business telco account toll free number, if you are sneaky enough.  What you do is sign up for a free Skype account, log in to the account, and bring up the "SkypeOut" dialing pad.  Although you won't have any money in the account, you are still allowed to make calls to toll-free numbers using dial-out.  The number that will appear to be calling the business telco number will be one of Skype's own outgoing telephone numbers.
The method above is not the only way to accomplish this result.  Since the originating telephone company gets paid a fee by the terminating telephone company (the latter being the one that provides the toll-free number), there are a number of VoIP companies that allow you to terminate toll-free calls on their network without having to sign up for an outgoing phone number or even telling them who you are.  You can't usualy receive calls or place calls to non-toll-free numbers through these services, though.
If you have enough calls to toll-free numbers every month and do choose to register with them, however, a few will actually pay YOU to place the calls on their network.  But the volume of calls you would have to place is so large that you would almost have to be a phone company before it made sense to even try to make money this way.  And forget using an autodialer on these services -- you could wind up being sued yourself not only for harassment, but for other things.  One of the other things that comes to mind is called "tortious interference with business relationships" (e.g., if you call so much that you disrupt a legitimate business).
But for one or two calls just to get information anonymously, these methods may be worth trying, and it would probably make tracing the call back to you rather difficult.
People who "block 'em/ignore 'em" and also may be held liable for some aged debt later find themselves in court either fighting or paying a judgment. People who carefully document collection calls defeat their collectors with the agencies' own illegal behavior, which will most likely manifest by phone.
I don't even have time for a remark as foolish as "FCC is in bed with these criminals". The FCC has almost no jurisdiction, genius. FTC and CFPB are the federal sentries for matters of commerce.
You cannot "hide your outgoing number" from a business telco account toll free number, thanks to Automatic Number Identification. ANI is part of the carrier signal and out of your control. If you want the nuisance calls to end, you have to *make* them end directly, as I keep advising.
Your crabby remarks do even less good. It's too bad for you there is isn't some way to connect a mystery phone number to a compnay name, maybe something like a user-supplied database full of reports and pointers, some of which could lead you straight to the answers you seek in as few as four thread pages.
It's entirely coincidental if for you "they stop after a week". As I've already stated on this page, the federal DNC registry *does not apply* to debt collectors.
Did I claim that one could "stop debt collectors" in general with a single sweeping action? No, I suggested that people have realistic options for winning back some peace and dignity when lawbreaking collectors make contact.
Naturally you can't stop a debt account which was never yours from being reassigned and resold. Who are you to interfere with the legal trade of other people's assets? If the account *does* concern you, then you have a shot at frustrating the series of hand-offs, maybe even rendering the account legally uncollectable through a court order.
You have a simpler problem of skip traces for other people, made more challenging due to faulty name matches. Have you done any more than keep logs in those five years? Did you shoot off those cease comm letters promptly? Did you report their suspicious and illegal actions to attorneys general and the FTC? Did you file suit after any given agency ignored your demand letter? Until you have made that sort of proactive response, it's not yet time to slink into your couch cushion and sigh that "it never ends no matter what".
criminals are now added  to PRO call blocker version 2.0...the best $59 you will ever spend.
1200 number blocking capacity..up to 10 area codes can be blocked...also you can block criminals with no phone numbers on their caller ID.
blockers with 50 or 60 number capacity..you will run out of numbers in a couple of months.
FCC is in bed with these criminals:
1-do not answer the calls that you do not recognize.
2-search on awesome websites such as this one,for the phone number and once you see the numbers here,
3-stop wasting your time with useless reports and complaints and buy a good blocker.
